not that it matters but i am the NG Dwarf Ranger

Just a general request, as I've noticed a few characters missing the information:

Please make sure you fill out the information in the '4. Description' step of the process.

These can all be accessed by pressing the Anvil ("Go to Builder") button and jumping to the fourth step: 4. Description' along the main horizontal menu bar.

SO I am wanting to dual wield shortswords. I'm taking fighter as a splash before I take wizard to get the bladesinger skill.
Since I'm building him as a dex build will I be able to add my dex as the my ability modifier even though I'm a fighter.

Two-Weapon Fighting Style: When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack.

Ok, I changed the cleric's alignment to match his diety (LN), and picked his spells. I might purchase a few basic items, but for all intents and purposes, he's done.

In order to use Dex with a weapon, it has to be ranged or have the finesse property. Daggers and rapier are finesse weapons, don't know of the top of my head if shortsword is. And it has nothing to do with what class you are.

Since the short sword has the 'light' property, you can attack with two of them using the normal two-weapon fighting rules that anyone can follow:

If, as a fighter, you also take the two-weapon fighting style, you ignore the last line from the normal rule and you are able to apply your ability modifier to your damage rolls from both attacks:

Yes. In addition to the 'light' property, the shortsword also has the 'finesse' property which means you can use your dexterity modifier instead of your strength.

If the elf fighter intends to switch to a magic-user soon we should count him as a magic-user and not a fighter when balancing the groups.

I’m planning on a melee focused blade singer if that counts for anything

I think I filled mine to have all of this information i just added the last missing part of religion just added a deity name there.

Not a lot of response to my attempts at a breakdown (it is the new year ) but here is my proposal...

Group 1:
Oskar Loderr - LG Dwarf Rogue (DrPete)
Brenzavur Fyrebrand - LG Dragonborn Sorcerer (ravenn4544)
Strega “the Pale” - NG Half Orc Druid (Rex)
KAN-DEMIR - CG Dwarf Monk (Pulpatoon)
Tannaris Vethykos - CG Elf Fighter (Gerrin)

Group 2:
Dr Catarina Jones - CN Tabaxi Rogue (BearSiren817)
Urth Stormwind - LG Human Warlock (Computer +1)
Grimbul Graybeard - NG Dwarf Ranger (GreyWolfVT)
Dureau Sathaos - LN Human Cleric (Scott308)

This gives each side a rogue, a primary arcane caster, a primary divine caster, an outdoors type, a face, and some muscle. The smaller group has more traditional combat power, and the larger group has some more quirkiness in the designs (dunno how squishy monk and spell singer are).

If we are in the same continuity, and people aren't meshing, maybe there would be a chance to swap around after we get a feeling for each other...?

This would put both divine casters in the same group and no combat specialists, leaving the other with no healers. I like drpete's grouping.

There's actually a 10th character joining soon, so we'll have two, 5 character groups.

That's me. I'm going with a feral Tabaxi Barbarian. I should be done with him soon.
