If Horton is conscious at this point:
The weary librarian begins feebly pulling himself along the ground, trying to find the boundary of the heavy curtain (Or should we call it a shroud at this point?, he thinks sourly) in order to crawl out from underneath it.

Horton is still passed out from his earlier attack. He has one hour from that initial attack to receive medical attention, or die.
An hour is about to pass, as most of the party has begun a rest. However, we are waiting on Shaggy Beaker's response before resolving the fate of those still in the Audience Chamber.

Maybe I shouldn't say anything because I am [so far] intact...
But this game system is deliciously suh-wingy!

Yeah, and with the advancement rules capping off at 3d6 HP, you'll never get to a point where you can casually saunter into battle. It'll always be scary.

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
well the odds of rolling a 1 for HP when the "backup" character only gets 1 HP are crazy and look how that worked for me both hirelings 1 HP and my actual rolled character gets that 1 rolled for his HP too. That's never a good sign. Why else do you think that first battle i just ran.

Were the soldiers friendly to us, considering we helped drive off the rats? If so, I vote #1 to see if the soldiers have any healing, or as "natives" to this place can provide us with intelligence about the lay-out so we can accelerate our explorations.Pulpatoon wrote:Options before the party:

2. Through the Barricaded Hall, the wooden stairs to a balcony. (Where the rats went)
3. Through the Putti Rotunda, back into the Audience Chamber. (Smooshed babies)
4. Through the Putti Rotunda, the unopened door that smells of blood and woodsmoke. (you are pretty sure this is the direction the sound of marching footsteps have come from)
5. Through the Great Hall, down to the Foggy Mineshaft.
6. Through the Great Hall, back to the village of Ballyjack to rest and recoup.
7. Stay in the Barricaded Hall, maybe make forts out of the furniture?
Mouse, Kurt, and Butchness are still basically at death's door, although mobile and active. Deet and GWAR! are injured, but not badly. Jake has an unfortunate tendency to fall over. Langston, Brick, Hans and Vanis are fit as fiddles.

I agree if the soldiers were friendly lets stick with them for the moment as they appear to think we are one of them.

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
I have been struggling against this, but the New Year has brought changes which unfortunately require me to suspend my PbP gaming. It has been a pleasure gaming with you all these past years, both as player and DM.
Thanks again and best of luck in gaming and life.

Everybody, please welcome ChubbyPixie!
You may have met his character, Wikerus Blume, during your stay at Ballyjack. Or you may know his from his frankly terrible stonework. His attempted repair of a Church fountain is particularly infamous.

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Guys, I'll have spotty internet access for the next few days, back to normal Tuesday. If I'm holding things up, NPC me as needed, etc. But if you do, make it super cool. Backflips, backhand punches and roundhouses to the face are all acceptable. Thanks.
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Sorry for the down time guys, I was out of town at a full time seminar over the weekend, and just got back yesterday. Back on board!
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Well that went worse than I'd hoped. Did we just split the party three ways?

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
I am confused on who is where. We seem to be whittling the party down, and not even by deaths now but by simple wandering away in different directions. Perhaps a large, "accidental" fire could serve useful as a beacon to draw folks in to a focal meeting point.
Shaggy could also arrange his bell, tied with string to something that moves, to produce a clanging that may draw the rats to one spot while we sneak in.
Just thinking out loud. Oh, and fire too.

I was under the impression we were all together now. The captain told us where to go, but no one has gone anywhere yet. Am I wrong?
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Everyone is together, outside the the Officers' tent.
