Thorgrim readies his new crossbow by pulling back the string and nocking it. He moves to the side of the entrance and places his back to the wall. Then he proceeds to carefully scan the room for signs of movement and danger.

Throm immediately feels at ease in the cramped cave and reaches out with his senses. He spots what looks like a much smaller version of the critter you fought outside reflecting in a mirror polished gold buckle laying in the muck. He deduces that the buckle is 4 feet 6 inches away and the creature is 12 feet, 4 inches, 6 millimeters from where he lies.
Coincidentally, near the same buckle he spies the gleam of a red gem lying among what appear to be shattered rib bones from a pony.
The space is too cramped to swing or throw a weapon accurately, but a stabbing device or lit torch might do the trick.
Good roll. :)

Craxzus- Will attempt to burn the creature. It is a little one of those creatures form outside. Careful sometime young are more poisonous than there parents.

Eirenaios is surprised, "You have the eyes of a hawk!!", he doesn't think he could do a better job of searching but he just looks around for other visible passages.

Throm is the only one to spot it. He acts first

Throm so I have no "stabbing" weapons only axe and hammer. holding his shield as a sort of makeshift barricade tries to make his way over and attack the critter with the torch "Gimme the torch an I can try ta dispatch the beast."

If you guys need an action from me, just say so. I'm going off the assumption that Ruken did not spot what Throm did, so he cannot act on it. Having assumed a defensive position, back to a wall and pick axe out, the gnome will be more on alert than anything else. Someone lit up a torch so that has been taken care of.

OK. So I definitely don't like the by the book rules concerning torches which gives you a base 10% chance of proper use. That's just silly. You need to practice the skill of shoving fire in someones face? Using the torch, club like, in combat I get but...I'm going to call for a DEX:DEX resistance roll instead.
Throm torch attack [1d100] = 34
Fire Damage [1d6] = 2

Throm manages to surprise the hiding thing and shoves his torch onto it. It shrieks in pain and scurries through the refuse to escape. Everyone can see the thrashing creature now but swinging a weapon is still going to be difficult in the tight quarters of the cave.
If using a non-piercing/thrusting/shooting weapon the roll will be difficult or at 1/2 skill.

The moment Eirenaios sees the scurrying creature he immediately musters a small portion of magical power to cast sleep on the fleeing insect

Craxzus tosses the torch to Throm. He pulls his S. Sword attacks if possible.

Throw torch roll
% roll[1d100] = 6

S. Sword atk
S. sword atk(40%)(Dex85%) [1d100] = 40 Damage;[1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2

As Thorgrim nocked his crossbow a ghostly, glowing bolt appeared on the crossbow. In the tight space and with everyone else rushing around trying to attack the creature, Thorgrim holds his fire and waits to see what will happen. He is not confident enough yet in his ability with the crossbow and to be honest, the glowing crossbow has him a bit unnerved. He's not sure what sort of damage the crossbow will do in an open space, let alone in a confined cave such as this and he does not want to injure one of his companions by accident.

Eirenaios finishes his incantation as the burned creature makes a rush at Thorgrim and falls limp, skidding across the muck right into Craxzus extended blade. Blazguards new crossbow slightly illuminates his position in an eerie green glow. All is quiet.
Throm looks to the item that reflected the creatures image and finds a pony harness with highly polished copper plating. It has a dwarven symbol etched into it that is probably a family name. "Silverbeards"
That and the pony bones littering the cave leads you to believe the animal probably pulled a wagon when it was attacked. Their is the gleam of some coins among the refuse as well.
