Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
It's not that easy to tie a rope around something 3' in diameter without touching it. Roll a Dex check on 3d6 to see if Odilo avoids touching the pillar.GreyWolfVT wrote:ooc: he isn't touching the pillar only the rope

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
To Urdak, this must seem like an LSD induced live video game.
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Odilo dispels the web holding McCloud to the ceiling. McCloud floats toward the mouth, but bounces against the wall of force. Odilo ties one end a rope to the northernmost pillar, successfully avoiding touching the pillar, then ties the other end to his magic rope (1 round). He orders the rope to extend to McCloud (3 rounds). McCloud grabs the rope and climbs down. The moment he lets go, he starts to float upwards again.

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
The Dwarf suddenly realizes this is a point in which he could be useful! He wraps his burly arms around the Half-Elf's leg in an attempt to keep him grounded.

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Odilo uses his enchanted rope and this time directs it to tie around the half-elf McCloud's legs turning him into a McCloud kite or balloon.

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around

who said he lets' go? where did that roll come form? okay so the magic rope is tied around my ankles(?) so at least they can drag me along. How thick are the pillars? As thin as a young wenches waist so no trouble for this handsome cad to go hugging one then, at least then you could tie me up, (vertical please not upside down!) if needed.
feeling the effects McCloud will say, "whoa, " pulling on the rope with his hands, "a bit like the water skiing from the back of the racing barracuda's", McCloud bobs up and own against the tide pulling him into the maw, then as Urdak watches he will do a 'superman' flying gesture, followed by a starfish, 360 turn, pirouette, teeth only, taking hold of rope again before he speaks(!) "we still have the crown, sceptre and key lets' us them again for one more time around!"
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
It's easy enough for McCloud to grab the rope again. I was just making the point that climbing down the rope doesn't mean McCloud's problems are over.
Urdak holds on to McCloud and Odilo ties his magic rope to the McCloud balloon (untying the rope from his other rope first; if Odilo wants to untie his rope from the pillar, he'll need another Dex check).

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
"said all along that life in this tombs a drag!", McCloud trys a jest. If we get to the throne without further mishap we shall touch the appropriate parts together and try to open the secret thrones door (or is it still open from before?)

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Odilo reels in the McCloud Kite/Balloon. But leaves the regular rope tied to the pillar and only unties the magical enchanted rope once McCloud is on the ground again will he instruct it to untie ONLY once everyone is sure McCloud wont float off again.

The Dwarf looks to the others from McCloud's leg. C'n Ae letn go now?
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
"If when we get him down he still floats I can try to dispel the magical floating effects with a spell." Skarlos looks on in mild amusement.

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Odilo discovers a problem: McCloud's current gravity-challenged status is strong enough to carry quite a bit of weight along with him. You can't tell how much, but it's enough that when Odilo pulls on the rope, he finds himself climbing the rope instead of pulling McCloud down.
Skarlos, mildly amused by McCloud's predicament, suggests that he could solve the problem with a spell.

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
This is like a parade balloon gone wrong with all but one guy holding the ropes.

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Quinn will assist Odilo in holding the rope.
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
"Urdak! You're the strongest - can you pull on the rope too? Shall we see if getting him down and out of the room makes any diifference?"
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
McCloud will fidget around trying to get rid of excess ballast, he has his kilt on which he also keeps shifting so that he 'stays warm' in the drafty conditions. He will pass down to the others the scepter and dig out the bronze key from his sporran and drop it to the others.
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Ah! Urdak finally realizes that this isn't an hallucinogenic nightmare. Yeh, yeh. He wraps his iron-like fingers around the rope... Hopefully he's not carried off too.
