The Diner

The ambulances races on, swerving all over. It looks like the driver has lost control of the vehicle. The ambulance flies into the parking lot, smashing into cars before flipping on its side partially imbedded in a truck (Steve's truck)and catching fire. Mostly every car in the lot sustains some damage. Only one or two are unscathed. Even the motorcycles are knocked on their sides.
You can see people still moving inside the Ambulance, trying to escape.

When the bikers see their only prized possession knocked over they react harshly.

Chingy heads over to check on his bike as he says Why don't you two go see what that dudes problem is! Someone is gonna pay for this shit!

Runs outside to check on the ambulance.

John- start rolling film! Maybe we can get some footage we can use for a story.

Chance decides to stay out of the drunk bikers' way and watch events unfold. He sits at an unoccupied booth and watches, and also looks to see how badly damaged his car is.

Steve B. - Trucker

"My Truck!!" Steve yells in shock watching the ambulance crash his truck. Standing there in shock, the patrons head outside while Steve freezes. As the flames take his truck, Steve begins to come to grips with the situation. "Holy shit, this makes this night twice as fucked up". Thinking of his employers, Steve pulls out his cell and begins to text them a message about how their delivery won't be made(inside his thoughts, Steve hopes his employers will swoop-in to rescue him from this situation but realizes how unlikely that actually is).

As the ambulance burns and catches the truck on fire as well, you can see movement inside the ambulance. The door shudders once and then again. It clangs open with a screech of metal.
Three or four people stumble out. They stagger & shuffle around the wreck, perhaps in shock. Your mind spins as you see one person missing an entire arm- the knob of bone sticking through the mangled flesh. Another clearly has broken & splintered ribs burst through the abdomen. One is cut in half- its drags its upper body along the pavement - its severed spine some kind of obscene tail.
This cant be real. IT CANT BE ALIVE!

"What's wrong with......how's that possible?" Steve mumbles as he watches the scene from inside the diner standing next to the waitresses. He puts his phone in his pocket after he sends his text message and moves to his booth to remove his club from his tool bag.

After which he'll look for a makeshift shield
Trash can lid, bucket lid, seat cushion, serving tray

Chance stands at the window, paralyzed for a few seconds as his mind digests what he's seeing. Everything starts to make at least a little sense: the emergency system warning, broadcasts about disease, biting...

Suddenly he snaps into action. He remembers a utility closet next to the restrooms. He runs there to check for anything that can be used as a staff (mop, broom, etc).

After the.......things start coming out of the ambulance he looks at Tiny and says What the fuck is going on here? Is this the same shit that you guys saw on your way here? This shit is REALLY happening? Chingy tries to assess how much time he has before the things reach them. You guys got any weapons on ya or in your scoots? Looks like we're gonna need em!

Chingy begins rummaging around in the bottom of his saddle bags. He stuffs something in a plastic bag into his inside vest pocket and reaches back inside again.

From inside the diner, Tucker watches the whole drama unfold outside in the parking lot. Badly injured and infected people staggering around the now defunct ambulance, Derek and John trying to get a scope on the contagion, the bikers scrounging for belonging from their bikes. It was all very surreal against the flames enveloping the ambulance and truck. Tucker is woken from his daze by Steve's scurrying for a shield once he has grabbed his club and Chance's dash to get a mop. "Mel! You have any hot water on the boil we can use to force those people back?"

Yes I got a knife in my saddle bag. Whitey moves back to his bike grab his Lg Knife out of the saddle bag and throw saddle bags over his shoulder.

5 am, light begins to enter the night sky. The sky is still dark and cloudy, rain is in the air.

Smoke blocks some of your vision of the scene outside as the fire keeps burning.

You see two of the people seem to be EMTs, while the other seems a man dressed in shreds of jeans & a shirt. The torso of a woman pulls itself along the cement.

JOHN & DEREK exit through the back and come around the corner of the diner to film the crash & the creatures. They appear undetected.

As THE THREE BIKERS look at their damaged bikes and grab their belongings, the crash victims take notice. They start to shuffle in their direction.

Its a chaotic scene inside the diner. STEVE goes right past a stunned MEL and finds a large pot lid with a handle. While CHANCE finds a mop that has a head that easily unscrews off.
TUCKER gets no reply from the stunned owner of the diner. He looks a bit pale. FLO screams.
NORM runs into the kitchen and goes into the store room.

DEAN & SYRUS still look outside , but also talk hurriedly to each other about what to do next.

What the... How is that woman crawling? She can't still be alive. Don't stop filming, John! This is unbelievable- Pulitzer fucking prize here we come!

Derek checks to make sure the microphone is connected to the camera and turns it on. This is Derek Lancaster with WGON. I am at a small diner outside Philadelphia where a scene too bizarre to comprehend is taking place. Seemingly dead bodies are walking around in some strange semblance of life. I don't know how it is happening or why, but as you can see behind me, this is not some Hollywood feature, it is real. There have been reports of strange behavior in the area, people attacking, biting others. Whether this behavior has anything to do with the scene we are witnessing, I do not know for sure, but I will do my best to get to the bottom of this situation... Aaaaand cut! How did that sound? Should I run through it again or was that take good?
