At least I kept the dull paring knife that you use as a weapon secret. Oh, wait...

Update:
I actually received a job offer today at 11:43am and have a targeted start date of November 10, 2014.

This new position is "local," not downtown, so I'll be driving to and from work every day. I used to make all my updates while riding the train in the morning, which I can obviously no longer do, so my schedule is going to be significantly different. Since I'm I'm also not planning on doing anything game-related during work aside from checking in on my phone, I imagine it will probably take me some time to establish a new routine.

Then we'll be running up against the holiday's.

Speaking of the holiday's, as I said in my recruitment post, there won't be any posting requirements on the major US holidays, but I also know people tend to take a lot of holiday time off from work and/or travel near the end of the year. Anyone have any known conflicts? If so, please add them to the 'Known Absences' thread.

Now that my life feels normal again, I'll be able to resume my review of the character sheets and, once those have all been ironed out, we can get started. As for a start date, I don't a specific day in mind, but can definitely say that it will be soon-ish. :)

Congrats, Dave! That was fast...hopefully you get to "double-dip" with your next job and the severance from the past one.

Unfortunately, any double-dipping will be minimal at best. I was given a month of severance. My last day with my previous employer was October 9th and I'll start up with my new employer on November 10th. I guess it worked out kind of perfect in that way.

Thanks, man.

The timing really kind of sucked as not a lot of places are hiring towards the end of the year, but thankfully the one direct hire (non-contract) role I found, I landed. Thankfully it won't turn out to be a long winter like I was starting to think would be a distinct possibility.

Since you were already preparing for long sleepless nights over the winter anyway, you should have plenty of time from midnight-5am to get those posts in. :D

Just a suggestion...
Dandelion - female half-orc beautyqueen in training (The Lone City in the Wildlands) OSRIC
Halfpint - female halfling badgirl wannabe (Lab Lord- The North Marches) LL
Mark'd - charismatic human fighter (Lab Lord- The North Marches) LL

The start date will be noonish? I assume that means tomorrow at the indicated time.

Congratulations on the new job find, D.
Less than a month - not bad at all! Hope the new place treats you well.

Of course, by this time, everyone should have the draft of their character sheet ready and submitted for approval. ;)

Hahahaha. It will be soon-ish, not noon-ish. Nice try, though. ;)

I'm pretty sure I have character sheets from everyone (if not, please get yours in), but I have a pretty busy weekend planned so I probably won't have time to begin reviewing them until Monday.

Man, next week is going to be nice! Instead of being unemployed (which, I suppose, I technically still am), it will feel like I'm on vacation instead. With both my girls in school full day, and no truly pressing obligations (like trying to find a job), I should have an abundance of free time. It's quite possible the game could kick off sometime next week.

Glad to have you still on board.

Actually, I suppose it makes sense to confirm: Is everyone still interested in playing?

I'm still in. I sent my character sheet, but it appears there's an error in it. I could have sworn I rolled straight 18s for ability scores, so let's just go for that. No need to bother yourself with checking the dice roller...

Looking forward to starting!

Noon on some day, but not today.

Even though I'm not actually working yet, I do find myself with a massive list of things on my to-do list. Character review and approval is on that list, but I wasn't able to get to it yesterday. Hopefully later today. I will keep the 'Character Sheet: Status' page up to date with my progress.

I did not see we were back in action! Congratz on landing a new job in a short period Dave! Maybe you can sleep now? I think my sheet is already in, let me know if there is anything else I need to do. I may tweak the inventory before we start.

Thanks, man. I am actually working on reviewing the character sheets that are in (all of them), but still have five to go (including yours). I'll definitely let you know once your sheet has been reviewed, but hopefully we can kick things off here pretty soon.
