Now that the confusion from earlier is hopefully cleared up, I will need the correct hit point roll from onlyme and NJWilliam. Got tooley's and Grognard's.

9 more HP for Gustov.

Hit Points from 2/3 to 4/4: [1d10] = 9, [1d10] = 6, [1d6] = 3 all divided by 2

Updated his sheet.
Took a sling proficiency as an additional "thief" weapon, and since he was already carrying one around it seemed appropriate.
Still have a "fighter" weapon proficiency to allocate. If possible, he'd like to keep that open until he finds a weapon that meets his fancy (other than his daggers, of course), and then practice with that.

Also updated saving throws, THAC0, and thief abilities.

cleric level d8 need to divide by two: [1d8+2] = 7+2 = 9
cleric level d8 need to divide by two: [1d8+2] = 1+2 = 3
fighter level (need to divide by two) [1d10+2] = 8+2 = 10
fighter level (need to divide by two) [1d10+2] = 9+2 = 11

So 12/2 =6 for Cleric portion
and 21/2=10.5 (round to 11) for fighter portion

so add 17

Whtsell's con score allows a +2, which would be +2 per level (divisible by 2 for multiclassing). Your instructions was +2 total instead (or +1 per level). Let me know if you are in disagreement.

thanks

The rolls that you have posted up there are correct. I will update the HP thread accordingly and hopefully get the game rolling again some time this afternoon. Thank you everyone for your patience.

Strategy discussion: I assume in a life or death situation Whitsell would, moved by his godly calling and caring for human life, heal us? Such dire conditions would make Deceidon, at least, overlook his distrust of magic in favor of not dying. Perhaps his view on divine magic is softer than arcane magic. Perhaps Whitsell is sneaky and heals people in their sleep? It must be something in this strange place that makes us wake up every morning feeling so good :D

We can certainly afford a healer-herbalist or two, and some hulking hirelings to supplement our fighting skills. Big retinues of hirelings was common in the early OD&D days.

Yes, given the fact that most of the townsfolk were ex-bandits or other adventurers who got snagged into this strange land, it wouldn't be too farfetched to say that you could get a decent number to follow you into the mountain area with the proper amount of gold.

I'm glad you brought this up, considering that I don't go out of my way to help you guys out with plot turns and strategy, being the DM I have to be fair and show some restraint. Take for example the treasure room. I placed a set of keys inside one of the desk compartments, that would open most of the chests. No one bothered to look though, so I didn't say anything about it until now. The healer was necessary I think, in regards to group survivability in the long run. I had to make sure you guys knew it was an option in this game, but that's about it really. I won't be pulling in any punches in the next few battles, especially since you guys are set on going to the mountain! :)

Whitsell would probably heal if necessary. He didnt last time, because he didnt want to show it off if he can ultimately avoid it.
I say we hire a healer, and form a volunteer posse paid for only by the gold they find... we brought back enough of it to get most adventurers to go in without a guarantee...

Also---
I have never brought back this much gold... what are we practically to do with it? are there banks, not that I would trust it? is there a jeweler we can change the gold for lighter/ more valuable gems?

In the dark of the never ending sun, bury it near the big tree in the woods

Well, I do understand that you do not like having so much currency at once, so here is what you can do:

Invest into hirelings like Grognardsw suggested
Send the money back home to help Whitsell's family, once that is applicable
Donate a large sum to any community or cause of your choice
Go around town and purchase better equipment, I'm sure the ex-bandit merchants would be more than happy to take your unwanted gold!
Or bury it in the ground like Grognardsw also suggested
You could also return to the bandit treasure hoard and just put the coin back, and only keep what you think you will really need

I know this has been a slow time of the year for many of us, but at least try to get a post in every other day. I do not want to keep rushing the story forward while skipping half the group's input or even more. Please?

Guys. I'm feeling particularly drained today. Lot's of physical labor at work and all that. With that said, I plan on providing my update(s) tomorrow morning. I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

Normally (at least in the games I have been on so far) the weekend is not really held to the same daily post rate. If someone is around the PC, great. But if not, no worries.

I am on a pc less during the weekend than during the week, for sure...

For those that have not posted in the public threads for a while, feel free to do so! Though the story seems to focus on Whitsell's and Gustov's activities, I'm sure other things are happening in the background... :D

I've been more than patient enough, I think, on Gustov and the group here. Is everyone still on board, still mildly interested about this campaign? I'm finding myself waiting on one or two people more often than I'd like, and I'm not sure if it is something I'm doing wrong or if they expect me to npc them through all the combat scenes? Maybe it is a lack of interest in playing one's character, the game dead for some people? Not sure what is going on right now.
