Drakshar

Ah gotcha!

Drakshar keeps watch over Kurot, in case something untoward jumps out at their companion.

Max walks up to the fallen foot and examines it as closely as he can without touching it.

Zhym sometimes can't post for a while, so I will NPC Kurot when appropriate.
Thanks for the NPC, Norjax.

Is this something Kurot can make a roll to understand further?

The Jag Oru Coast 58D/82 (Afternoon)

Kurot examines the object closer, trying to glean more information on its function. As he inspects the protrusions, one of the metal hook comes loose and he pulls it out of its socket. The removed peg end contains a blinking blue light.

OOC: The object breaks

"That looks fancy, what do you think it does?"

"I...don't think it was supposed to do that," says Kurot sheepishly. "Whatever it was supposed to do, I don't think it's going to do it now. That might actually be for the best, given the kinds of things that tend to get dropped from the sky."

"Let's move on."

The Jag Oru Coast 58D/82 (Afternoon)

As you ponder your options, the jungle stirs with unsettling activity. From the direction where the monolithic head landed, rustling foliage and snapping branches betray the presence of something, or someone, moving through the undergrowth. Harsh voices bark commands, though the thick vegetation muffles their words, leaving only the urgency of their tones.

Then, cutting through the humid air, a piercing, unnatural <SQUEAL> erupts, echoing in erratic bursts. The unseen figures continue their approach, their purpose unknown.

The Jag Oru Coast 58D/82 (Afternoon)

Ten figures emerge through the dense foliage, their silhouettes sharpening against the shifting shadows. Though humanoid in shape, their heads resemble blue-plumed birds, an eerie reflection of the floating monolith. Most grip rifles of an unfamiliar design, while one stands apart, wearing large, round goggles that pulse with a faint purple glow. Thin, nearly imperceptible beams sweep methodically over the area, scanning, probing, as they advance with deliberate precision.

They remain concealed within the jungle undergrowth, roughly 50 yards away. There’s no sign that they’ve noticed you, but the sweeping purple beam steadily closes the distance.
