The companions quickly surround the enemy. He doesn't seem to understand Beato's command to to get on his knees, but he stays quiet with a frightened look on his face. It doesn't get better after Balam kicks him between his legs and the hobgoblin finally falls over his knees.
After a quick look at the characters sheet I can't see any rope to tie the monster. This also makes me remember of the torches. The only torches I think you have are the two given to you by the priestess. No problems until now, but don't forget this once you are indoors. If you want to retcon and buy some simple stuff you can do it right now (but not later).

Right, do exactly as we say and try nothing funny or you will share your friend's fate. Where are the children taken from the human village?

That's true, I'll adjust my sheet later to include (i) rations, (ii) backpack & pouches, (iii) clothing, (iv) flint & steel, (v) torches and (vi) waterskin.

If nobody here speaks hobgoblin, maybe there's somebody in town who can. We could question this... fellow there.
Plus, I have little gold left, but I might be able to buy a few torches...
Unless, of course, the group decides we should waste no more time and be on our way after those missing children...

It seems that the creature has a little understanding of the common language, but very limited. He points to the old house and repeats: "Puppies...Yushoi" "Puppies...Yushoi".

Balam's brow furrows as he thinks about the hobgoblin's words. "Puppies, eh? I wonder if he means the wee ones we're after or if he means kobolds. Either way, I don't think we have the time to be wasting bringing him back to town on the hopes of someone knowing it's language and coming across our path. The hours be few and flying as it is."

Balam's right, there's no time to dilly-dally. Heff stands and grips his sword firmly. So what's the plans for our new friend?

We can't take him along and we can't leave him alive. Heff says to the others, from the side of his mouth, We need to ill-kay the obgoblin-hay.

Balam listens for a moment and gives pause to see if anything else is said. If not, he swiftly dispatches the hobgoblin with his axe and begins walking toward the entrance. "Let's get this done..."

Heff is ready with his sword should Balam need assistance putting down the hobgoblin. Heff grimaces as the deed is done. Though the monster was defenseless it still was necessary to end its life; a monster is a monster --there is no changing that-- and if left to wander about it would eventually do harm in some form or another...
Heff is at Balam's side as they approach the house.

Beato searches the dead hobgoblin once Balam finishes him off.

Balam strikes quickly and the hobgoblin has no chance to react. The monster falls instantly, letting a large trail of blood flow from his neck. The companions search the bodies to find a sum of 33sp.

The path to the old house is clear. Get near to it the companions can't see or hear anything happening inside it. The windows are locked from inside with wooden boards. A tall double dwarven door stands in the middle of the front wall.

Balam will look around for any obvious entrances or possible areas to maybe boost Heff up to, if he is willing, to find a passage in.

He will closely examine the doors for any structural weaknesses or anything that jumps out at him on a possible way in.

There are no obvious signs of other possible entrances, neither anything remarkable about the doors.

Let us approach Beato tells the others there were guards, so there is somethign to be guarded. If we are quick we might still have the advantage of surprise.

About the boarded-up windows, are there slits between the boards big enough to fire arrows through?

The boards are not attached very evenly, so there are a few visible gaps between some of them.
