The sun must have risen or almost, somewhere beyond the rain clouds. There is a greyish light that shows you all that a scattering of about eight or ten margr, armed with slings, are whizzing stones at Janks. His position stop the crawler, lying down, makes him a small target.

shooting at someone with cover, make a WIT roll. Expected is that the cover protects them. Better is that you hit them and can roll your HD. Worse is that you're running out of ammo (next time you roll worse, you're out). Worser is that you just spent your last ammo.

Hopkirk

"Hey, ugly!"

He fires an arrow at a margr

WIT: [1d8]=4 + [1d10]=7, so 11.

Medium damage: [1d8]=2

That actually was a rule for the margr - they're shooting at Janks, who has cover. They're in open, it's WITless to hit them. But a "2" doesn't beat unarmed AC, so your target survives.

None of the margr rolled high enough to beat Janks' armor so I won't worry with the WIT rolls - I will say that the margr who rolled a 1 is out of stones ...
Several stones "ping" off the side of the crawler but Janks stays low and avoids harm.

A stone rattles against the crawler as Rendar ducks behind it. Good cover ... but the second slinger gets lucky and wings a stone off the side of Rendar's head! down to 1 HD for now

Three stones strike Hopkirk. Zero HD: Please make a STR roll

Now you get to act again

Hopkirk

STR: [_2d6]=(4+4)=8

Realising Rendar has the right of it, he dashes to join him and the cover of the crawler.

At zero HD the expected result of a STR roll (6 - 9) is that you can't fight anymore. Better is that you regain 1 HD. Worse is that you're seriously injured. Worser is dead. So in this instance,

Hopkirk's vision is blurry partly from sweat and blood running into one eye and partly from the knock to his forehead that he took from a margr's stone. He somehow stumbles up against the side of the crawler away from the goatmen, gripping feebly at Rendar's leg as the glaive summits the machine.

This game appears to have been abandoned (with tibbius last sign in over a month ago).

I am moving this game accordingly (but it can always be restored if/when the need arrises).
