It doesn't bother me. I have been enjoying the role play so far. Nice to see everyone getting into their characters.

I could have made Arngeir more bombastic and played up his xenophobia. However, he's not stupid, he's abroad in a strange land and needs these people's help. He does have his limits.

Now he's rested he can try to heal the infection again? I assume it's best not to bother the Elkyri to often?

Yes, now that he is rested he can try again. The dice will determine if you are bothering the Elkyri. A CF (6% chance for you) results in annoying them. You need to decide if that is worth it in this case.

I'm just kind of playing my dwarf about the same as most dwarves I've run sadly I'm a one or two trick pony. I've gone the accented stereotypical dwarf and the normal speaking version that's about it. Although I suppose I've made Algrim this time a bit more conservative in his replies less boisterous and outspoken more tolerant and patient but still one with humor.

Nothing wrong with that. My characters tend to be similar to each other. Except maybe Drest in OM's Pawns of the North Wind Game, he is a Pict with a 3 Chr. I tried to play him as a A-hole. He is now an A-hole ghost.

Role play has been/continues to be great. I will get a post up tonight to get you back to the ruins after I get home from work. The ruins are not far away, only a couple of hours walking. You can keep up the role play if you want until then. I will reach out to the others still working on characters for an update tonight as well.

Let me know if there is anything I can work on doing better from a DM standpoint, I know my DM style is more free form then most other DM's and that doesn't work well for some players. As this is not a campaign and we will just scenarios don't be afraid to throw out ideas you would like to try or encounters you think it would be neat to play through. I am thinking of how to make sure everyone gets included in stuff and has opportunities to shine.

I like that we've had a chance to do a few low-stakes rolls and get to know the system—not that I have the slightest grasp of it, yet!

Glad to hear. Learning a crunchy system like HM always takes a little bit of play. That is always better than just reading the rules in my experience.

hedgeknight is going to follow along but will not be joining us.

Ythgar's character is close so I will check in with him and see if I can get him involved in play.

Lockcraft applies to anything with moving parts/mechanism, no matter the material. It obviously applies to building a lock, but it also applies to finding mechanical traps, simple or complex and disabling them as well.

And I spaced it last night, but Ossian is joining us. So, please welcome him aboard.

I like the new footer color—it helps establish distinction between it and other OOC text.

Regarding the footer info: I have updated my local copy of Idril's character sheet with the two improvements. Should I repost the sheet each time, or is there some better workflow for keeping everyone up to date?

Welcome Ossian!

Rex I figured that did pertain to more than lock picking, as locksmiths themselves do more than merely the opening of locks. I just figured it was worth arguing that the dwaf does not have intimate knowledge of located or sensing magic inside of stone.

You are correct on both. Just wasn’t sure if you wanted to try looking for traps ( very unlikely) or just pulling the rock out. All good either way.

That was my hope with the footer color.

I am still thinking on the sheets. In a normal game I would want to be able to know the most up to date score for behind the screen rolls that you may never see. But in this as everyone is learning and we are testing/comparing the rules I intend to show and explain even behind the screen rolls. So if I screw up you might catch it. Maybe once a week we edit the posts to update the sheet?

We could put them in a shared google drive or dropbox folder.
