Korin continues following.

You find that the next tower looks very similar - but there is no cultish graffiti on it, apart from a few sooty smears on the lower rungs of the steps - as if someone had wiped a brush used to deface the first tower.

Beyond this tower, the quayside continues, ending in 'half' a tower set into the 'western' rock wall (mirroring the layout on the other side), and next to it a large double-door portal set in the 'western' wall, which is partly open. The water out in the cave lies still.

Tiny

Tiny looks through the open doorway.

Thorelf stays silent a few yards behind Tiny, keeping lookout behind them.

Korin stays near Tiny and keeps his eyes and ears alert.

The portal opens up into a rhomboid-shaped hall, very similar to the one where sleeping zombies were encountered earlier. The floor here, too, is patterned with mystical symbols.

"What do we do with this?"

Korin shrugs "Dunno Tiny kinda looks all magicy an whatnot."

"I'm tempted just to step inside since the last hall with the same kind of markings didn't do nothing. Strange how this place is almost deserted, is it not?"

Turns to Richard.

"Richard, what do you make of these markings?"

Richard the markings don't look like magic to me.
More like someone with a protractor and too much time on his hands.

Korin brow furrowed and eyebrow raised replies to Richard "Eh? Pro what? Quit makin up words. Durned fool." he chuckles.

"Huh, is that something you learn at mage school? I'm beginning to think people don't understand you but nod anyways because you are so good looking. Anyway, no time to waste."

Thorelf steps into the room, on lookout for traps or ambushes, but not magical symbols on the floor.

Tiny slowly follows Thorelf, trying to walk in his footsteps.

The rhomboid room is approx 40-50' long and 25'-30' wide. At the 'western' end, a large opening turns off in a 'south-western' direction.

Nah, we used protractors in kindergarten and drew circles with them. In Mageschool we learned to say it in other languages:
Gradskiva , Winkelmesser, Transportador, etc.
