Are they (we) dead, or just unconscious? I took it as unconscious, but that was an assumption. Either way, not good.

Were any of the fallen wearing a mask of some sort?
Yes.
Grigor.

Would holding one's breath for short periods of time, dashing in, pulling a fallen member toward the exit, moving out again, taking a breath, going back in again, et cetera involve a saving throw?
Yes.

How many braziers are burning, where are they located, and how easy would it be to knock them over or cover with a blanket? How tall are they?
No braziers are burning. There are four, one in each corner of the tapestried area (the empty black circles on the map). They are low and wide; knee-high.

Grigor, Kiri, Torix and Zahra fall to the ground lifeless, joining the dead worshippers of Thanatos.

EGAD!

Just one of the many reasons I love AD&D

I've been killed off in several of Inferno's games > always a good time!

Does ANYONE in the party have a grappling hook?
If an unconscious person has one, Cruloc might try to throw a rope and hook it to pull the body out of the room.
If either Dahinna or Amethu has one, please say so.

Amethu does not. He does, however, perhaps have a spell to revive them if they are indeed dead.

Roger that. I'll wait for Dahinna and Inferno's responses.

AD&D 1E dos not lie!

Assess the situation, get in or get out, do whatever, whatever you think might be best for what's called for. When I came back after the 80s of 1E and played 5E for a while, I didn't know what to do. It was like 1st Level 5E PCs are comic book heroes. I get it though. All about fun. Nothin wrong with that.

Tactically, Torix and others should have been smarter and done better, I think.

If you guys all die, I'm sure we'll find 4 new guys tied up and gagged in the next room.

Dahinna has nothing like that.

The late Torix doesn't have a grappling hook.

Your excellent use of an if-then order in the IC thread allowed me to move the game forward. Thanks.

And one will be Tor, 14-year-old son of Torix the... Pict?

Kind of like Prince Conn, son of King Conan.

My first time to have a PC die since I started playing RPGs again in 2018. Feels like old times again.

Not dead yet. Gnasher and Dahinna to the rescue.
