Btw I adjusted the magic arrow totals and also removed the 10 used oil flasks from the Treasure List. Now, speaking of treasure... ;)
Did we end up uding all 10 flasks?

I doubt we'll face any enemies in the area the troll was living, but the goblin chief still might be around.

The troll was dead before Saul had a chance to act in round 2.

Okay, so from all the monsters defeated during this trip you guys earned a total of 920 XP. I'm going to go ahead and give Semele a full share of monster XP (she gets a 1/4 share of treasure XP). That means everyone gets 92 XP. Treasure XP will be awarded as soon as the PCs reach some sort of town, village or hamlet (not just Threshold). The nearest village (other than returning to Threshold) on your way is in hex 10.14.

Bassed on my initial math, with the troll's treasure haul, it appears that Jake and Saul will be able to go up to Level 4, Drudsa and Thordin to Level 3, and Bregalad/Lanny/Tratiln to Level 2! :) (once we return to a town or village)

Based on the number of flasks used for planning the troll attack, as well as prepping the arrows/bolts and then the final immolation of the troll, I figure it was probably 9 or 10 flasks, so I just counted it as 10 for simplicity's sake.
thirdkingdom wrote:Don't forget, the troll was blind, so had a -2 penalty to attacks.
Ah yes. Sorry, I forgot about that. In that case - thank you Bregalad! :)

@TK - What is a torc? Is that supposed to be "torch"? Or is it something else? I couldnt find "torc" in the dictionary.

Tratiln is in favor of getting to the elf village sooner rather than later. Gems and jewerely tend to be a bit smaller and easier to carry too.

Isn't this convenient? :D I wasn't expecting a new level so soon!

If you mean the estimation I did here in the OOC thread, that also included 4 flasks that would be used in the chest room - which is something I don't think we went through with as it turned out. I assessed that we would have used 6 flasks on the large room: 2 to soak the 2-squares area immediatelly in front of the doors and other 4 creating a sort of "oil corridor" between the door and the southern corridor.

I half expected that Thordin would suggest is to haste to the village to help the ogres.

Ha! The elves haven't bothered me that much!

And Thordin will need a couple of days to train with a weapon trainer.

So, can I assume you guys have re-barricaded the door and returned outside? If so, I will post Quinthos' reactions to the various proposals.

Saul, prefers to have everything shipped back to where it can be identified and suggests Jake goes so he can rest up.

As far as plans he'd want to help the elves but if the rest of the part wants to head back to town he'll train with the bow if at all possible (going to check the rules for this next level when I get home).

I'm assuming it is now late afternoon of Thaumont 12 (ie., the same day). If the party does return to Threshold, Lanny would insist that it only be to deposit the treasure, deliver the news to Fr. Varis, and get everyone fully healed before leaving at dawn the next morning for the elvish village. We can weapons train and spell train while on the road, and we can get the magic items identified in the elvish village.

At this point it has been too long for First Aid to restore any of Saul's lost hp. However, both Marodin and Semele are capable of casting healing magic.
@ All: I am not trying to be a dick, but I am going to rule that for a character to gain XP for treasure he must accompany it to town. Therefore, if you send just a couple of guys back with the loot they are the only ones who will get the XP. Please note that, as I pointed out in an earlier OOC post, there are at least two villages between here and Quinthos' that count for the purpose of gaining XP.

Guys, from a metagaming POV: we still have sufficient hp and spellpower to explore a bit more.

Identifying the items will take at least one day so it makes no difference if we ride to town now or in a few hours.

If you want to get moving I'm fine with it but I think we can still make good use of the time and resources we have at the moment.

Ok with the training, but we've got at least 3 magic items that can have an impact on our chances when facing the ogres. If we have to face the ogres before we reach the village the items (at least the potions) will be potentially of little/no use.

Lanny really has no interest in exploring any of the passages leading from the troll room right now, as there is no imminent threat coming from any of them. However, he would be willing to return here in the future to continue the exploration, as there are probably some darker secrets hidden in these lower levels.

Lanny would still prefer to return to Threshold before continuing on to the elvish village, but he is flexible on that, since the information obtained from the Magic Mouth would not be immediately useable by Father Varis anyway. He would also be ok with depositing the treasures in the elvish village itself (which might help the local economy that has been ravaged by the ogres). That would make us complete the overland journey to the elvish village and really earn that next level up! :)

I have posted this twice already but will do so a third time. There are at least two villages in between here and the elves that count for purposes of getting treasure XP. Please note that you do not actually have to "cash in" the treasure in order to gain XP. You just have to re-enter civilization. It doesn't matter to me what you do, but I don't want you making decisions thinking you actually need to "deposit" treasure.

TK, I think that's clear but it's also natural that the group would think of going to Threshold as that has been a sort of a base for our operations thus far.

Given Quinthos reaction we'll probably have to move on with the elven quest straight away. Interesting to see how this conversation develops. ;)
