Re: OCC Thread
Yes! I am here and ready to go...
(Although I will also be gone, from Aug 6-9, on a much-needed vacation up north to sit around on the beach and hang with friends, hurray for that! So depending on how that goes, I might be spotty for a few days. But still, I'm here and ready to get this thing going again...)
Now unfortunately, I interrupted you all with my absence before you decided for sure what to do. So, a brief recap, and then you all can sound off in OOC and/or IC about how you plan to proceed:
You're outside a tower of black stone unlike anything else you've seen in the valley. You've planned to have your froggy/bullywug guide lure out the apparently more sophisticated frogmen who await inside the tower.
As I see it, you are all perched on the point of readyness to enact your planned trap in which you hope to lure the frogmen out into the open, knock them out or entrap them with spells and weapons, and burst through the door before it can be closed by anyone remaining inside. The door, as Thurinor has found, has a complex pattern of squares, 9 across by 9 down (81 total, making up a larger square area on the door). No one has attempted to touch the door, but Thurinor suspects that some pattern needs to be entered in order to open the door, and he's got no idea what that pattern is for sure. It would certainly take trial and error, and the consequences of that trial and error are unclear, though he is certain that the pattern is not itself magical.
But your elven friend Thurinor has also discovered a secret entrance that appears will lead beneath the tower, to a basement or some such underground area that may give entrance to the tower proper. And this is where I need to know your intentions. A couple of you mentioned trying the secret door and giving up on your plan to lure out the frogmen. In character, only Thurinor and Ozborn even know about the secret door, but they can certainly motion for the others to drop the plan and come take a look, and out of character you can all decide which way you'd rather go.
Sound off if you can, and I'll look to push this forward by tomorrow night at the latest...

Preference for the secret door is noted.
Sorry guys, I missed my window for getting a post up. Traveling with the fam starting tomorrow morning through Saturday, up north relaxing until then, have been busier than I expected in the meantime. But I'll post when I can and we'll get back into a rhythm, promise.

Re: OCC Thread
Some XP updates (long overdue
):
Monsters Overcome (don't think any of these were slain outright; all were by role play and trickery!)
24 rats @ 4 XP each = 96 total, each PC takes 14
1 mysterious gray dwarf @ 210, each PC takes 30
1 killer frog @ 54, each PC takes 8
2 bullywugs @ 23 each = 46 total, each PC takes 7
1 giant lizard @ 201, each PC takes 29
Total of monsters: 88 XP per PC
Challenges and Treasures for Action Thread 11: The Greensward
(formula: 50 XP x average level = XP awarded)
Andrin (gained a level): 50 x 1.5 = 75
Malone: 50 x 1 = 50 XP
Ogirdor: 50 x 1 = 50
Ozborn: 50 x 1 = 50
Swilbosh (gained a level): 50 x 1.5 = 75
Stonjuz (gained a level): 50 x 1.5 = 75
Thurinor: 50 x 1 = 50
Solo XP Awards:
Andrin, spell use: 50 XP
Ogirdor, skill use: 100 XP
Ozborn, skill use: 100 XP
Swilbosh, role play: 125 XP
Thurinor, role play: 50 XP
Total Current XP Awards:
Andrin: 213
Malone: 138
Ogirdor: 238
Ozborn: 238
Stonjuz: 163
Swilbosh: 288
Thurinor: 188
NOTE: These numbers reflect a few refinements and one expansion (to account for role play) in the method of XP calculation. Let me know if you have questions or concerns.

Oh! I think this means Ozborn will level up, if we can apply it right away. I'll have to check it out later tonight. I crave more hp, if nothing else...

Re: OCC Thread
You sure that Andrin gained a level? From my character sheet, he now has 2350, but needs 4000 for the next....
Re: OCC Thread
that puts Malone 51 below level 2... hopefully we can find some whimpy rabbits to scare away...

Re: OCC Thread
i think y'all are level 2, so you got an XP bonus. Malone is still at 1, and doesnt get it yet.

Re: OCC Thread
Sorry for the confusion. I just meant that Andrin and Swilbosh had gained a level while playing through thread 11 (you both leveled up to level 2 mid-thread; you're correct that you're not yet at enough XP for level 3). I was awarding "challenges and treasures" XP for thread 11, and since you both gained a level in that thread, I used your average level of 1.5 as the multiplier in the related formula, which gave you both slightly more XP for the thread's XP. I will do the same in the future for anyone who gains a level mid-thread.
For the rest of you who now have enough XP to gain a level, you'll have to wait until you can rest to actually level up. You haven't rested since you defeated the poltergeists and talked to the slain Kharg horse lord. And I'll try yet again to remember to give XP as soon as it's earned rather than wait to do it in big lumps, which are harder to track. Incidentally, if any of you think I've forgotten something that your character did that should have earned them more XP, please let me know.
Oh, and don't forget to give yourselves bonuses for high prime requisites, if you have them. I've not factored that in and will always leave that up to you...

No prob, Zeb, looks like we might be waiting a couple days to see if Majik still wants to play his character. You all can RP your side of the meeting and if he doesn't show, I'll jump in to NPC him.zebediah wrote:sorry for the lack of posting, I should be able to catch up on the coming days
