Corvin

Corvin nods and sneaks his way towards the ogre's door, ears straining for the sounds of ogre snores.

Lantern (Sebastian) - 1 hours 05 minutes
Lantern (Corvin) - 1 hours 35 minutes

Hear Noises check behind the scenes

Corvin slips up to the door leading to the ogre's lair and listens. At first, he hears the expected snoring. But then, the storing stops, and he hears the faint rumbling of something large slowly awakening.

Corvin

Corvin slips back to the group.

"It sounds like he's just woken up." he whispers "We need to get into position before he comes out, and get the others through the room."

Mordred

"Once the sleepers are past it, I will order them to halt, and I will join you as quickly as possible" - he nodded.

Idea is to get the sleeping abductees past the ogre cave, and maybe around a bend or past a door, if there is one. Then get them to stop, and head back to confront the ogre if needed.

Lantern (Sebastian) - 1 hours 00 minutes
Lantern (Corvin) - 1 hours 30 minutes

Corvin, Astrid, Sebastian and his dogs, Leon, Eleanor, Jandley, Lob and Grimm all array themselves just outside the alcove that leads to the door into the ogre's room.

The group creeps the halflings and sleeping kidnap victims across the hall and into the northern corridor as quickly and silently as possible.

Unfortunately, they only have a little bit more than half of the victims across when the door rattles, and shakes, and the ogre emerges with a rumble. The ogre is a great, towering beast, easily clearing 12 feet, making it large even by ogre standards. Its body is covered in hideous, weeping pustules as if it is infested with some horrible disease. Its eyes are twisted and bulging, with one significantly larger than the other.

The halflings all gasp and freeze.

"Keep moving," hisses Kasper, pushing them along. "Quickly!"

The ogre stops and stares at the armed men and women arrayed between him and the sleepers. His eyes rove over the room, taking in the long procession. He grins at the armed men and women. His voice is a deep rumble the group can feel in their chests. "Hmm. That's a lot of halflings. Love halflings. Adorable little nuggets. Pay you 10 gold per halfling hmm?"

Lob tenses, and takes a nervous step back, glancing at Corvin. Astrid stares nervously up at the looming beast and tightens her grip on her sword. The dogs snarl, low and quiet.

Corvin

Corvin lets out a long low growl baring his teeth, subconsciously his hackles raise and his fur puffs up as he tries to make himself look as large as possible to a predator.

"Nobody is for sale. We are simply passing through and will be gone soon enough."

Lantern (Sebastian) - 1 hours 00 minutes
Lantern (Corvin) - 1 hours 30 minutes

Charisma check: 1d20+12+4(outnumbered at least ten to one) = 17 < 20

The ogre's distorted mouth twists up in a dangerous, snarling grin. "That so?"

The ogre takes a single, earth shaking step forward. He readies his club, but doesn't attack just yet. "Too bad. So many delicious morsels. And I'm so hungry. Perhaps I should just take them from you, hmm? Give me, hmm, half of them and I'll let the rest of you walk away. How's that sound?"

By this time, most of the sleepers are into the corridor to the north, with the local halflings hurrying the rest along as they anxiously try to flee into the tunnel.

Corvin

Corvin shakes his head and clenches and unclenches his hands.

"No, they are all leaving safely." he cocks his head "You'll have to come through us. Is it really worth the effort? You're meant to get indigestion after the meal"

Lantern (Sebastian) - 1 hours 00 minutes
Lantern (Corvin) - 1 hours 30 minutes

Charisma Check: 1d20+12+4(10 to 1)-3(escalations) = 26 > 20

The ogre stares at Corvin for a long moment. His misshapen eyes flick between the procession that has almost vanished through the tunnel, then back at the grim faced warriors arrayed before him. He shrugs. "Not today. Do come around again some time. I love having guests for dinner."

The ogre leans on his club and watches them with a relaxed, but watchful pose.

Corvin

Corvin nods at the ogre "A wise choice...for all of us. Now a controlled retreat after our friends, I think."

He organises everyone to drop back in a line towards the rest the group, keeping an eye on the ogre as we go.

Lantern (Sebastian) - 0 hours 50 minutes
Lantern (Corvin) - 1 hours 20 minutes

The group makes their slow, careful way through the dungeon. As they traverse through the room that once held the Troglodytes, a small purple lizard scurries along the wall nearby. It pauses, and looks at the procession. It opens its mouth and makes a sound that sounds like "Kezek."

Mordred

After congratulating Corvin for an exceptional accomplishment with the ogre, Mordred stops, staring at the strange purple lizard - "Did that lizard speak?"

"It sounded like it. We saw one of those the first time we were here, but it didn't make a noise. Sebastian, any idea what it is?"

Sebastian frowns and peers at the lizard.

The lizard looks at Sebastian. "Kezek."

Sebastian shrugs. "A purple lizard that says kezek."

Astrid rolls her eyes. "Ladies and gentlemen, our resident animal expert."

Sebastian smiles sheepishly. "I don't know everything you know."

"Eh," says Jandley. "I wouldn't worry about those things. They like to wander around saying that. I don't know why. They're harmless."

Lantern (Corvin) - 1 hours 05 minutes

The procession continues. Before long, they are standing once again in the room with the teleportation circle. They carefully guide the sleepers around the teleportation circle and continue down the corridor to the exit. They reach the exit without incident, and find the rope they left still dangling down.

It takes the better part of an hour, but they eventually get everyone up and into the open sky.

Leon takes a deep breath as they emerge into the fresh air. "Ahh, I never thought I'd see the sun again. Or breath fresh air."

"Don't relax too much," says Eleanor warily, looking around. "We're still Outside."
