A brief but vigorous stop/motion pursuit of Penfold by a conga line of irate and scantily clad mercs (to the accompaniment of Yakety Sax) should be taken as read. ;) :D

Frank

"Thank you Dubbs, it seems this is just the prelude"

Assuming Baker reports the suite is clear, Frank will have him secure the prisoner while he speaks to the Deputy Minister

"Sir, we have a secure area in the officers quarters for everyone to evacuate to."

Just a reminder of the layout re linking with Gaughan as above. He and Beau are headed west on this floor across the pool park for the Guard barracks mirroring your own but on the other (west) side of the pool/park line of symmetry.

Accommodation Floor: Barracks for mercs and guard, Baron's quarters, VIP area and central park/pools.

Admin Floor: Hyrdroponics, protein vats, staff quarters, food production and prep areas, admin, housekeeping.

Ground/Basement: Storage, tank garage and mechanic bays, power plant, huge environmental plant for internal climate control, fuel, water store.

Ah, I misunderstood the link. I thought the ground floor ran the whole length and we could travel through it to reach the Guard barracks. Still, best we have a look at what's down there while we're ther. - even if that's just a camera hack.

The door's status is currently shown as “Secured”. She could likely hack it open if she wished but it hacking a camera in the basement would show her what's there just as well and save both on legwork and any possible exposure to harm.
To save to and fro with requests for rolls:

Roll(2d6)+0: 6,1,+0 Total:7 = Success with your mods

Freya is able to determine that the door is locked shut (as above). With some hacking she works out she can open it if required (no further skill check required).

Well, the basement is Guard territory and (as on all floors) both east and west "wings" of the Mansion connect but to get to where you know Gaughan has gone you are following a rather long "U" shaped route (looking from the front of the Mansion).

To get to the Guard barracks you can

either just go west across the pool/park

or go all the way down the stairs to the basement (Jess won't enjoy this) traverse the basement via the tank garage and then get the lift (because Jess won't manage the stairs) back to your starting level.

It's "doable" but very much the long way round! ;)

Point taken. :)

Check there's nobody in the area behind the door, go back ( via a strong analgesic ).

The critical bit here is looking for signs of passage or actual bad-guys - or worse, bad guys and an ambush! (Roll for camera hack)

Electronics Roll (2d6 + Electronics + EDU): [2d6+4]=7+4=11

Freya

Freya is able to determine that a group of furtive falxmen came through the basement/garage security door, entered the stairwell and then swarmed up the stairs to assault the merc "garage" corridor resulting in their demise via Jess & Gaughan. After their bloody repulse the two fugitives retraced their steps failing to pry open the door to the Admin level and having no better luck with the now secured (as per a General Alarm from Guard HQ) basement door.

When she first sees them their clothing is a darker shade and they leave a visible trail on the ground beneath them.

(OOC: I think I now see where you are going!)

Oh Good...I wish I knew
Jess, Freddie - Looks like they came in this way - but got a surprise when they found the door locked on the way out. So...Either we follow their back trail and see if we can find their support/transport or we leave the trail at this locked door and start hunting for the shadow in the garden along with the rest of the horde. My guess would be that either this was a way in only or whoever sent them set them up. They were terribly equipped for this. They maybe weren't meant to get out (in which case there's no transport to find). Which makes them a diversion and the shadow (high-tech vis-light chameleon gear from the sword worlds?) the threat? Or there's no shadow and the roof is unguarded and the main doors open so someone is coming on an air-raft? Our only anti-ship weapon is on the roof - and the fire control for that is in here somewhere. Are we defending that in our cordon? If the shadow exists, how does it escape? Our (or the guards) vehicles could be the answer. Which way should we jump?

Frank silently curses himself for not asking sooner "Dubbs, do we have an ETA on that ship? Also, do we still have comms with Beau? Do we know his situation?"

Frank will ask Jess's squad to guard the VIP area for now, and have Easy and Baker secure and escort the prisoner back to the officers quarters where we can find somewhere to secure them. He then escorts the remaining delegates back to the safe area, suggesting to Liv that they ought to have a talk with Ms East, (he'll wait if she wants to change first- said with a smile). He will bring Prerna up to speed via comms and have her meet them in the med-bay.

This seems a reasonable immediate course of action while we regroup and potentially reassign troops as per the OOC discussion. Shout if you think I'm wrong

Nope, sounds good to Prerna.

"We might want to check the pool area to see where we were infiltrated," Prerna says as they walk back to the med bay to check on the wounded.

Frank to Prerna "Agreed, I think we'll need to head that way next, not just because of the pool room but we need to help the guard and deal with the pirates. But first I'm hoping Erica might be able to help cast some light on the situation, particularly the incoming ship"

If the shadow exists...
Was the shadow real?

Or maybe figurative???

These things might seem real to certain people... but not to others.

(OOC: Good GM Award for myself here! :D Never passing up an opportunity to be helpful... ;) :SAN: )
