A small group of the recently invigorated and much better fed townies follow Wes as he hobbles over to their fields and gardens. The druid picks out a suitable plot of poorly growing fruits and vegetables and casts his magic on this area as well. The people all cheer while they watch the plants grow and multiply, becoming ripe before their very eyes. After more jubilation, back patting, and many accolades towards the man who nearly single handedly saved almost one hundred starving peasants here in Beachtown, the farmers get to work harvesting their new fully developed crops.
The content common people actually cheer the name of Waesfaren Rhey and Obad Hai once the half-elf departs the farming area on his way to the water again. 2 of the more average looking woman ask the druid if he would like any help washing off his........things.......in the water.

Jax lends an arm to the recovering Wes. "Between the meat we brought in earlier, and your god's gifts with the farming, these people are eating better than they have since my arrival. Our hard work is paying off, I think." He adds a small nudge to accent the next bit. "Just as Bralm promises."

Wes
Wes winces at the nudge to his ribs, but manages a smile. "Well, that may be, but I think you'll have an uphill battle on your hands teaching these folks about the wonder of all the insects that are biting them" He chuckles.
Wes thanks the young ladies for their offers. "I just have a bone to clean for now, and beyond that I'm too banged up and bruised to do anything except sleep. If you'd like to take care of The Shalm's tree while I'm gone, I'd consider that a great favor".
Before retiring to his shack to work on his new spell, the druid searches around town for all the various folk that might be interested in going on his expedition to search for the evil cleric. "I'll be leaving on the 13th if you're still up for going. I've got to heal up and finish my new spell. But the 13th for sure. Pass the word to any other folk you might see. Much obliged".

"I only point out to them the lessons to be learned from the Queen's Children," says Jaxsen. "How working together makes them powerful, and how hard work achieves all their goals."
As they part ways for the day, Jaxsen nods at Wes' words. "The 13th. I will let others know, and I shall certainly be there."
Parting from the Druid, Jaxsen drops by Raythan's house and knocks on the door. If Raythan is there, Jax inquires as to the progress on the house and offers his services for anything currently in need of doing.
If Raythan is NOT there, Jax will go search for Marge, certain that the head worker ant of this hive will have something for him to do.

Brother Gilbert
back to this thread....
When Wes returns to his shack, Br. Gilbert will greet him from the outside,
Wes, are you occupied, or may I offer more healing? I have more prayers to offer, and I saw you still have difficulty moving.
Cure Light Wounds- spell [1d8] = 4

Wes
Wes smiles as the bruising around his ribs begins to fade. "Thank you again Brother Gilbert, you are a good friend". he says, warmly. "You would be a very good man to have along on our expedition to investigate this mysterious cleric out in the jungle. Have you thought about coming along with us? Your healing powers will probably be needed out there"
Wes continues to chat with brother Gilbert for a while, then once done, finally retires to his shack, to work on his new spell. he closes the door and takes out the objects he needs.
First, he breaks off a piece from one of the candles in his belt-pouch and rubs the wax repeatedly over and into the bone. Then he meditates for a while, holding the bone as he recalls his vivid dream of flying like Pterry, swooping down to pluck prey from the treetops and the ocean.
After an hour of this, he takes out his dagger and begins to carve the Old Tongue rune for Hunter into the bone. Once the rune is complete, he rises and summons the power of Obad Hai, casting the incantation of Shillelagh onto the bone, imbuing it with magical essence.
Once this is done, Wes repeats thee process thrice more, each time carving a different rune into the bone: Strength, Attack and Distance, then each time casting Shillelagh. Finally, he prays over the bone, humbly beseeching Obad Hai to bless it with his power.
Then, hungry and exhausted, he collapses into his hammock.

Now that is how you describe spell research. Well done, sir! (I hope you get the chance to use it sometime soon)

As the sun begins to set Saracen steps out from the waves with his research and heads up the beach to the building’s.
He calls in to see Wes on the way passed and offers some more healing magic if the Druid needs it.
[1d8] = 1
[1d8] = 2
After that done he will head to the cook fires to see if there is anything to eat and then retire to his shack exhausted.

After spending the day in the water, the half-orcs sausage fingers are too wrinkly to cast spells well.

Wes
When Wes wakes the next day (11th?), he completes his morning rituals and then returns to working on his new spell.
However, whilst taking breaks for food etc, he does set out to accomplish several errands
He casts several cure spells on his injuries. He visits the common houses to see if anybody requires any cures for diseases they might have picked up. He stops by the fire tenders to try and pick up a couple of days worth of smoked snake for his rations. He uses a couple of spells to make sure the water barrels are topped up. And in the evening he goes out into the edge of the jungle to see if he can use his magic to locate a small chameleon.
Cure Light Wounds [1d8] = 6
Cure Light Wounds [1d8] = 3
Cure Light Wounds [1d8] = 8
By my reckoning that has him back up to 32 now, with the cures from BG and Saracen

Wes spends the 2 days after recovering from his injuries from the boalisk to test out a new spell possibility. In his downtime from his spell research, he (and Saracen?) is able to top off the towns water barrels and heal himself back up to full health.
He also uses his magic to heal the sick and grow more crops again, further solidifying his already highly honorable status with the good people of Beachtown. When the druid walks throughout the town now, people call and praise his name. No other inhabitant is treated as well as Wes, and for very good reason. The half-elf is clearly the most well liked member of this little community. The fire tenders are glad to see that the druid is up and about again, giving him as much of the meat that almost killed him as he wants.
He calls on the power of the Shalm once again at night to aid him in finding a specific animal, a chameleon that he needs for his research. Obad Hai is apparently very pleased with the effort that his follower is putting in to help the downtrodden people. In no time at all, with the help of his spell, Wes locates a small lizard that he likely wouldn't have spotted without his detection magic.

Heading a little further into the nearby jungle, Jaxson seeks out the half-elf Raythan who's home sits nicely just outside of town. The solitary spell caster happily opens his door to the hardworking monk and invites him inside.
"How have you been lately Jaxsen? I don't get out that much myself anymore, but I have heard that the town is doing much better thanks to the likes of hard workers like yourself. Is that true?"

"In truth, they are eating better,"says Jaxsen. "But what worries me is that we are finding them food, but not actually improving their food production. If we weren't here, they would quickly go back to starving. Hopefully, we'll find them some good farmland on this next journey into the jungle. The closest we've come so far is Wes helping out the crops they are growing near town." Jax lets that sink in, and then continues. "Actually, I was wondering if there was any further work you were wanting to do on your house? You know me.... build the hive."

Wes
Wes spends the next day working on further research with his new spell. During breaks, he uses his magic to talk to his new chameleon friend and study it's behavior. He places it in various locations to observe how it changes color, as a way to study it in preparation for working on his other new spell.

Raythan smiles at the kindness of the young human.
"Some of us have the power to create food and water by the graces of our gods, and I have been helping privately where I can, but you are correct young Jaxsen. These people would be doomed without the efforts of a few good people like you here. However, your friend Wes is developing quite a name for himself around here from what I am learning. Is he trying to turn this agnostic group of commoners into his own flock?" He says in obvious jest.
"Tell me, if you are looking for hard work to do, have you met Liam yet, master Jaxsen?"

Over the next couple of days before the party is to set out to confront the evil priest,
Chauncey is seen very little except when leaving his hut to obtain sustenance. Those who see him note a faraway look in his eye, or more accurately, a look that implies a certain vacancy or the perception of things unseen.
Back in his hut, he draws diagram after diagram in transcription of a scroll into his spell book detailing dimensions higher than this one, until finally he manages to combine them all into a sketch that actually extends into the fourth dimension, a corner of which possibly just encroaching on the fifth.
Upon completion of his task he shrieks with delight, then promptly collapses in a heap for a few hours before heading out to provision himself with food and supplies for the upcoming journey.

Speaking to Raythan.
"Liam," says the young Monk. "I do not believe I know anyone by that name. Do his efforts help the hive? If so, you know I will strive mightily to help."

Late on the evening of the 11th
Avaala the Grey
Hoping that the lateness of the hour will help to catch him at home, Avaala and Treasure knock on the door of the shack where Monocar resides. "Monocar, I am sorry to disturb you, but I am afraid I need to ask a favor of you." If those words do not cause the Man Mountain to turn away, Avaala continues. "I need to ask you for a loan of sorts. A spell that I can cast requires the sacrifice of a pearl. I have already used the one from my share of the giant crab's stash, and I wonder if I might get yours? I will pay you back for it, when I have the money, and if you like, I could put down 25% now. I was hoping since you are my partner in our eventual lumber yard, you might not require a downpayment OR any interest, but I also understand that business is business."
