Chapter 5: Let's Rock!

Solaine will be on the first row, readying her composite bow.

Ranulf moves up to the front beside Solaine. "Let me take the front next to Galen, Solaine. If that thing does get past his warding, my armour has a better chance of seeing me through. You should join Torgyr on the table so you can't shoot over us better. "

Randolpho will take a spot behind the table, put his lantern on the table and ready a sling stone

Quinn Coburg

Sword in hand and shield raised, Quinn will take a position if there is room on the other side of Bro Galen with Ranulf. If the sword has a bonus, now is a good time to find out.

Alright, so we've got:

Front: Ranulf, Galen, Ajax, Quinn
Table 1:
Table 2: Torgyr, Solaine (assuming they aren't lining up to attack from 2nd rank atop the table...)
Back: Climent, Randolpho

Still looking for spots for: Emm, Audi, Zim, Plud

The plan is... open door and attack?

Where does Plus go, in this lineup?

Somewhere towards the back.

Emm and Audi I believe still have spears so they could take 2nd rank.

Ranulf currently has the orc spear he took off the round table. He will have it ready to set to receive a charge when the door opens.

Ok, so Emm and Audi will be up on the table, but to the side, allowing the archers to get off a shot. Zim and Plud are in the back with Climent and Randolpho, on the other side of the big table.

This is Galen's spell/plan, so let's give him a chance to start it off, then we're good to go.

Zim stands to the side of the door, clear of missile file but ready to attack should the demon prove real.

Solaine moves to the back row, out of Galen's zone of protection.

[Zorroroaster]

Torgyr follows Solaine's lead.

Once everyone has given Galen enough room, he whispers to the cleric.

"Ok, Brother. Show us what you've got!"

Ok, currently:

Front: Zim, Ranulf, Galen, Ajax, Quinn
Table: No one
Behind Table: Plud, Solaine, Torgyr, Climent. Randolpho, Emm, Audi

Is everyone moving back, or are some of you sticking by Galen's side?

In the future, with plans like this, let's put the actual plan "up front" so people know what to do. This gives me the sense it could all be spoiled by a loose cannon or two.

I believe the folks on the sides will also need to give him clearance, yes? He wants to basically hold position in the door as a plug that the demon can't get through, while we fire past him. Anyone inside his sphere of protection has to be non-aggressive otherwise the spell will cease. Do I have that right?

Alright. People line up. Most in the back, a few in the front to protect Galen if things go wrong.

Galen casts the spell. Ranulf opens the door. You see the large demon, with the flaming sword, standing over the body of a dead adventurer. It's clear now that you look again that this isn't a fresh kill... the body looks a couple of weeks dead.

The demon grunts, raises its sword high and begins to move aggressively toward Brother Galen, who is standing in the doorway hoping his god will protect him.

Actions? Quinn, Zim, please clarify if you were up front or moved back behind the table when you state your action.

[Zorroroaster]

Torgyr's breath catches in his throat as he sees the monstrosity bearing down on his friend. He looses his crossbow even as he whispers a silent plea.

"Please work, please work, please..."

Crossbow: Attack (10+): [1d20+2] = 18+2 = 20, Damage: [1d6] = 6

Solaine fires her bow at the demon.

Composite Bow: (Attack 10+): [1d20+1] = 12+1 = 13, damage: [1d6] = 6
