Expedition to the Barrier Peaks - Chapter One

Andover's eyes grow wide. He looks at his bow with newfound disdain, like it's suddenly weak as a pea shooter. "Useful indeed. We should find more of them. Loathe as I am to keep making the same point, perhaps we should return to where we encountered the security ro-bots. That's where I'd keep my armory."

Guido, agog, gasps. That thing is unholy, he gulps, No such power should exist! We'd best keep it, so it doesn't fall into evil hands.

[Pulpatoon]

Porphyry's ears pique up at the phrases "No such power should exist!" and "evil hands." "Oh! Shall I hold onto that?"

[ChubbyPixie]

"Good gravy!" shouts Wrenly at the seemingly deadly version of the useless light emitting device from earlier. "Be careful you don't waste the charges! tHis is clearly a magical device."

Getafix replies to Porphyry, No, I can take care of it.

[ChubbyPixie]

"Well, that thing should be proof against attacks by the security, should such a thing transpire once again," says Brother Puddington. "Shall we find this armory? Or perhaps make a stop by the infirmary? I vote infirmary. Because...well, you know." He sniffs loudly.

[AleBelly]

"Yes, let's return to the robots. Look for more of those blaster things. But hide that one from the robots. I bet one of those damned cards is needed to have such a powerful wand!" offers Candy, stroking Wulfhart's arm.

[Grognardsw]

The adventurers return the way they came and arrive at the chamber of the security robots. The door is open, and hovering outside it in the hallway is a security robot. It watches as the party approaches.

[Pulpatoon]

Porphyry nudges the card-carrying Fingal toward the front.

To the party, he whispers, "I really would suggest prioritizing cracking open the card-dispensary. Do you think we could talk the security creatures into helping us do so? Or. at least, distract them long enough on some errand that we can apply ourselves to it without fear of interruption?"

[Grognardsw]

Wrenly the Brown beckons Fingal, but it seems the thief has stepped away after his safety exit from the room.

Porphyry the satyr looks around for Fingal. It seems the thief is not there. Some saw him last step out of the room of the silver woman, when he expressed concern the testing of the blaster may be dangerous.

[Hotgoblin]

Groyn Where did that stink'n thief go? Last time I saws him we were by the silver lady. I'm hoping he ain't trying to get himself killed!!

[Zhym]

Andover looks at the ceiling and sighs. "If he wants to get himself killed, that's his business," he says, "but I would prefer he not take the red card with him. There is no point being here without the card."

"Excuse us for a moment," he tells the police robots.

"Let's go find Fingal," he says the rest of the group as he begins retracing the group's steps.

Wrenly and Brother Puddington both follow Andover. "Fingal! Where are you, sir? He does behave erratically, that one," says Wrenly.

[Pulpatoon]

Porphyry, exasperated at having to take in anyone else's actions into consideration, rolls his eyes so hard it's audible.

[Pulpatoon]

The Ravenous Gryev sniffs the air, apparently trying to pick up the thief's scent. "Maybe we go back where we were and wait fer him to find us? Otherwise, maybe we all get... uh, whaddaya call it... unfound?"

Asherrion agrees with Gryev, We should stick together. Let's head back.

[AleBelly]

Wulfhart seems troubled. "Not like this for him to go off on his own. Yes, let's go find him." He looks at Candy. "We're going" he says forcefully.

[Grognardsw]

The group pauses in the hallway near the door to the security robot chamber. A robot is in the hallway, watching the adventurers as they discuss Fingal's whereabouts.

The party begins retracing their steps.
