"Well that was exciting. Next time Gardo goes first." Feargus checks his armor and find it barely intact from the raking claws of the wights. "That necklace is certainly fancy. Wonder if we can sell it easily. So now back to recover the bodies at the giant site?"

Telemachus is in favor of this idea.
"We might be able to retrieve the bodies and then return here to camp for the night."

Return to the Giants' Camp
It's but a quick journey from the watchtower to the former giants' camp, which the adventurers find to be in much the same state, but oh gods does it reek. The unburied giant corpses are bloated and bruised, and as the adventurers enter the clearing a flock of vultures -- at least a hundred -- take to the air, squawking their displeasure at being disturbed. It is likely that none of them have ever had such a feast.
It takes another hour to sift through the leaves and collect all of the bones of the dead. Zellar is able to identify them as definitely being from Kimrid by the badges and insignia they find. In all, the remains of eleven dead humans are found in the same general area. She *thinks* that is larger than the typical guard patrol, but it could be they sent a larger force south, or perhaps not all of the dead are Kimridians.
By the time the adventurers are done some of the braver vultures are descending to snatch strips of flesh, dodging the arrows the mercenaries idly fire at them. It's approaching evening as the group returns to the watchtower.

"Would it be a good idea to remove those bodies from the cellar and burn them outside, downwind from our camp? Not sure how much they might stink if we leave them. I can go down first to help get them out."

"Yeah, I never want to smell something like that giant camp again. What do decomposing orc wight bodies smell like anyway...?"
"So I guess the plan is to return these bodies to town and check in with the diplomat to see if she still needs us in town?"

The dervish searches among the body for any other clues as to why this patrol was larger than usual. She examines the bones to see if any of them are unusual (demi-human or otherwise deviating from the norm) and looks for any artifacts that may suggest they had a special mission.

She does remember that a patrol was sent out about two years ago to try and roust a camp of giants that were blocking the southern road. They never returned, and the Council decided it was wiser for Kimrid to spend its limited resources maintaining the existing trade routes; those east and west along the Gere, and north, to Vinar and beyond.

Morning
The night passes uneventfully. The previous evening the four wight corpses are dragged from the cellar and set ablaze. They're light, dry and dessicated, with practically no substance, but they burn slowly, releasing a foul, greasy, black smoke. The adventurers rise in the morning to a grey sky; before camp is broken it begins to rain. Not hard, but not a drizzle, either. It'll make travel back uncomfortable, and render their archers' bows mostly useless.

Kimrid
The rain doesn't slow anyone down, but everyone manages to get good and soaked by the time the rain stops in the early afternoon. The clouds break, and by the time the adventurers reach Kimrid in the early evening the sun is out, low on the horizon. There isn't really time to do anything, but the adventurers are able to use their mirror to contact Madame Fleur again.

Junction
Goshawk reaches Junction by late afternoon. There's time to visit Madame Fleur, if he should desire.
Let me know what you guys want to do with the spear, glamourbox, and mask (see this post: viewtopic.php?f=783&t=8786&start=560#p447617) It might not be a bad time to talk IC about it, since you guys can communicate with Goshawk (assuming he goes to see Fleur). If you want to sell anything Rhea's Ford is the place to do that.

Goshawk
Despite being bone weary, Goshawk checks in with Madam Fleur before finding his room at the inn. He brings the magic items he recovered with him, in case he needs to explain to their Factor detailed instructions to communicate to the party before heading north again.

"Well, since it is a bit late, I don't think the inn owner would mind us keeping these remains with us. It's probably too late to let those guys in charge know we are back. I'm going to say that it won't be mine and Mariusz' room, got it?"

Kimrid
The adventurers visit with Kirra Lec first thing before going to the temple. The ambassador is in her room, seated at a small desk. "Ah, yes," she says, as they enter, "it is good to see you returned from your tasks. I believe I will be fine here by myself, and am no longer in need of your services, although there is one small favor that will be beneficial to both of us." She reaches under the desk and produces a small oilskin pouch. "I have take the liberty to write two letters, both to Deputy Seneschal Pord in Rhea's Ford. The first is just governmental business, while the second contains instructions to see that you are compensated for your time. If you could deliver those two for me I would be most pleased."
