MW reminded me that most of you now have magical weapons in one form or another, but I will still allow you to stop at Bartholomew’s Item Emporium if you want.

Yep. If you look in the Spoils of War thread items with a line through them have been lost, dropped, or sold. The coin totals under your name at bottom reflect your total coin so far which includes the sold stuff (thank you MW).

A couple of important items we need to address:

Before I get to the individual topics I want to remind everyone to read through the new Core Rules QR 3.3.2 document under the Core Rules thread. It's a sparse 4 pages long and most of that is empty space. Seriously, if you don't find a rule in that document I DO NOT USE IT. It tells you everything you need to know about the game mechanics I use. The formating is a little off in places, I know, I was working on it in the wee hrs. I will get those fixed here soon.

I know some fo these things may seem petty, but when I have to adjudicate 8-12 character/creature actions per round, I really need this info there in your post so I can complete the Summary quickly, otherwise I may need to wait half a day or more to finish it. My schedule gets really busy at times. So the less I have to deal with the quicker I can knock the summaries out.

Initiative
Anyone in combat, that is when nasty criters are attacking, everyone must makeand initiative roll each and every round. A round btw consists of one full minute composed of 10 6 second segments.

Dice roller format: Initiative [1d10]

Ability Checks
Mostly for the new peeps. When I ask for an ability check I will typicall say

"Please make a DEX-DC" or "Please make a STR-DC"

This means you roll 3d6 and add that attributes modifier from your character sheet. Most of the time you will add this to your attack roll(s). If you take an action that does not involve an attack roll you still need to roll Initiative.

Dice roller format: DEX-DC [3d6+2]

Attack Macro Formats
When you make an attack during combat you should format your dice roller like so:

Initiative [1d10], Longsword [1d20+1], Damage [1d8+1]
etc.

If you get two attacks per round you will roll this macro twice and paste both rolls in your post.

Weapon Damage
On my Items spreadsheet you will note three columns under Damage for any one weapon: S (2'-4'), M (4'-8'), L (8'-16')

These numbers do not reflect the damage you do to those size creatures. These numbers represent the size of creature the weapon was crafted for.

So...If you are a Small sized character, 2'-4' tall, then you will use the damage listed under the S (2'-4') column for that weapon.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Any questions?
I'm all ears. Shout'em out!

I can adjust the macro on mumble then. I also think I made a macro for the axes on Gorthak incorrectly

Hey All,

Thought I'd make a post about background/personality info concerning this here campaign and the characters within. As most of you have already seen, I don't subscribe to the typical D&D game. I like color and abhor stereotypes. My NPC's are colorful and I try to maintain colorful personalities that, hopefully, always come out in my posts. I would ask that all my players do the same. (Yeah yeah MW, we know you already do that, no one is questioning your colorfulness).

I know I'm asking a lot here, but the campaign I'm running is a living breathing thing with multiple plot threads all interacting with each other simultaneously. As such I want all of the player's characters to have a rich vibrant background. Please try to avoid stereotypes or black and white character profiles. Your characters should have both good and bad qualities, likes and dislikes, basically well-rounded individuals. When you roll-play those characters in the game you want to bring these attributes to the surface, sometimes with flair, sometimes subtly.

One of the things many folks don't get (and i'm not saying anyone here doesn't get it, just people in general) is they try to place specific races or classes into specific stereotypes. When someone says Dwarf you think of a specific voice and certain actions as typical, etc. In my world every race has a wide variety of personalities as well as craft skills, not the typical stereotypical categories everyone puts them in. An Elf isn't always an Elf in my campaign. Personality and background info always trump the stereotype here.

Keep these things in mind when you flush out your character's background info. They should have a complex personality. One that can interact in a group but still be themselves, which includes being an distinct individual too. Read through some of the other players bios to get a feel for what I'm looking for, if you like. Also, if you are role-playing your character correctly, your character should actually evolve. What does that mean? I'm glad you asked...It means sometimes a character will start out with one pathology (typical behavior) that will gradually morph or change into something altogether different as new experiences change who they are, thus changing how they act/react. Color my good fellows color.

Once again, I'm not saying the players here are not doing these things, I just thought it was a good time to bring it up since we have a few new players with us and the original group is getting ready to level up to 1st level.

Cheers!

p.s. Humans in my campaign

One thing that I may not have made abundantly clear for this campaign is that Humans are not the majority or ruling power. If you read through some of the brief history in the Background, Persons, Places, Things thread you will note that the Humans and other major Humanoid races let their hubristic nature get the better of them and they nearly destroyed the planet itself. Now, thousands of years later, nature has taken over and the lesser humanoids and miscellaneous intelligent and non-intelligent creatures are the majority. Humans nearly killed themselves off, and those that remain are few and far between. The planet no longer has fixed/divided societies of Humans, Dwarves, Elves, etc. Every location is a melting pot of race and class. Your characters are the norm wherever they go, and humans are now the minority. I will be incorporating more and more non-human and non-humanoid races as NPC's as we move forward. I'm also currently working on a set non-humanoid intelligent playable races. I will roll them out as soon as I have flushed everything out.

Zirus' special items form Netheril have been added to the Spoils of War thread:

Sceptre of Spiteful Love
This heavy, thick, three foot long rod is made of silver alloys, has three thin snakes intertwined along its shaft, the head of snake at the crown sporting two sharp fangs, and a sharkskin leather grip is lashed to the base of the handle with softened gut twine. When used as a weapon, normal attack vs AC, it does 2d4 hp in damage. On the first successful hit the scepter absorbs the life-force (hp) of the victim and then uses that life-force to inflict secondary damage on the next attack. The life-force is stored in the septre, after the first attack, indefinitely, until a second, subsequent attack is made.

i.e. First attack does 4 hp. The sceptre stores the 4 hp as a charge. On the second attack 2d4=5+4 hp. The 4 hp from the first attack is added to the second attack.

In addition, the scepter may also be used to heal a character. After the initial attack has been made and the sceptre has been charged, simply place the head of the scepter on the forehead of the intended recipient and utter the command “Sana.” The stored hp will then be transferred to the recipient.

Wand of Wonders
This small, simple, wooden wand will grant the user 3 wonders per day. The wielder need only point and command. The wielder can describe or otherwise invoke their intended effects followed by the command word “praesta.” A wonder can be in the form of an object, animal, action, command, or pretty much anything the wielder can think of. Be careful when and how you use this device as it has a mind of its own. You never know what you’ll actually get. (DM determines the outcome)

Okay, quick question about the new Macro. Antman, I think you are saying that if I have multiple attacks, that I will roll the Initiative Die separately for each attack. Is that correct?

Thanks!
