"Ugh. Why did I volunteer to take point", Feargus says with a smile before slowly lowering himself down. "Don't let me wait down here for long by myself."
When he reaches the bottom he scans all around, quickly arming himself with his mace and shield.
His shield is on his back and his mace is strapped to the bottom of his backpack during the descent. I assume the area around the stone is still lit?

Zellar
Zellar readies her scimitar and lights her lantern, holding it in her offhand. She waits until the others have descended, then follows down last, to act as a rearguard.

Feargus descends first and reaches the bottom of the stairs. As the others follow behind, he spies, in the gloom ahead, where the cellar extends under the cellar, six . . . no eight, glowing eyes, gleaming with the color of rotten swamp gas. The eyes rush forward, and he beholds, at the very edge of the illumination provided by the light, four gaunt, orcish figures, little more than flesh and bone, with talons sharpened by death.
Fergus is at the bottom of the stairs, Newton is next. Not sure who's after that, but one more person (in addition to Feargus and Newton) can descend in time for Round One.

Feargus
Feargus grins and shouts, "Some kind of orc fiends. To me, friends!" He raises his shield and, being careful to stay near the lit stone, attempts to bash the brains out of the nearest enemy.

Telemachus
The mage begins to push his friends aside so he can see what's going on below.
"Stand aside! Move!"
You guys can move or not, up to you. I'm not really looking to shove anyone out of the way, just a bit of colorful description. Once I get a visual, I can cast Magic Missile.

Newton
"Orcs, yes, but undead I think!", he calls out.

Zellar
Zellar sets the lantern down next to the hatch quickly and roots around in her bag for her silver icon of Mnencir.

Round One
Before anyone can react the figures rush forward, grasping at Feargus with cold claws. He manages to avoid three of them, but the fourthcatches him across one cheek, raking his exposed flesh with an icy talon. Feargus feels the strength leave him, and is overcome with a dull ennui. misses him, although Feargus's blow misses as well.
Newton rushes down the steps, slashing with axe and blade, but the creature before him is able to dodge out of the way. Gardo tosses down his blade and attempts to swing down, mimicking the actions of the legendary Dread Pirate Robert, of whom tales are told by grandparents to sick children, to raise their spirits. Alas, Gardo is no Dread Pirate, and his foot slips on the slimy floor. He clutches up his blade and swings, but the foul wight eludes the blow!
Three more PCs may descend the stairs during Round Two. Feargus has been drained on one level.
Initiative, PCs first:: 2#1d616
Continuing with y'all's tradition of shit initiative rolls . . . https://orokos.com/roll/775504: 4#1d20+244207
That's three misses and one critical hit. Don't forget that fighters can auto negate one attack per day!
Newton continues to attack. "Form a line, let's not let them surround any one person!"
Ribar rushes down the steps, holy symbol in hand and calls upon the power of Manifest to smite the foul abominations.

Feargus
Feargus involuntarily convulses, regains composure and continues swinging.
Thanks for the reminder. Consider that strike negated. Let's hope I don't need another.

Telemachus
The mage heads down the stairs, Casfrea just in front of him.
Whenever she reaches melee distance, she attacks.
Whenever he can see a foe, he casts Magic Missile.
ok if one other PC goes before me, and then Casfrea and I go down?

Zellar
With her holy symbol in hand, Zellar will drop down to the cellar and join Ribar in rebuking the orcish monstrosities.

Gardo
He curses as he regains his footing. "That is just in... in... Blast it! Mariusz! What is that word I want to use when something happens that seems unbelievable?" Not waiting for an answer, he attacks with more fervor.

Round Two
Reinforcements arrive quickly. Zellar and Ribar both raise their symbols and call upon their deities; one of the undead orcs explodes in a cloud of dust, but the other three press the attack! Newton and Feargus gang up on one, chopping it to pieces. Feargus catches another with his backswing. Telemachus utters words of magic and sorcerous missiles shoot from his fingers, turning another into dust. The remaining wight lunges and Casfrea, who deftly avoids the blow, although she cannot land a blow of her own. Shortly thereafter the adventurers converge upon the remaining wight and cut it to pieces.
"Wow, that could have been far worse. Let's check the bodies and the room, but perhaps as two groups, with a cleric in each, just in case"

Telemachus
"The noise of the fight may draw attention. Be on your guard. We need to quickly determine how many exits there are from this room and where the next threat could come from."
The mage lights his lantern.

Zellar
Zellar keeps her holy symbol ready in her off-hand and her scimitar in her good one. When she has a moment and is confident no more attacks are immediately coming, she will climb back up the stairway or direct someone else to in order to get the lantern and bring it down. When the party identifies an exit, if it is an open archway or passage and not a door, she will pick up the light-ensorcelled brick and toss it thither.

Post-battle
The cellar is actually pretty small. There's the room directly under the tower and a second under the stables. Both rooms appear to have been used at one point as storage for those stationed at the watchtower; broken crates and barrels are scattered about. It looks like the troop withdrawal was orderly, or, at least, planned, as nothing of interest can be found amongst the rotten containers. In the corner of the first room is a well, with brick sides about three feet tall and about two feet across. Water can be seen about ten feet down from the edge of the surround. No doubt the open well, in addition to rainwater falling through the open roof of the tower, has contributed to the dankness of this space.
In the section under the stables is a pile of earth in near one wall, and a great scooped out hollow in the wall, as if someone were digging towards the surface. The niche is only about five feet deep.
One of the corpses wears a torc around its neck of wrought electrum. It is beautiful, though somewhat tarnished by age, and likely worth 1,500 gold.
