Dolph opens and holds the broken door, allowing Ablesforth to enter alone and Neegan to keep a watchful eye from the doorway, crossbow ready. Able tries to edge close to a corner where the demonspawn crouch: they hiss aggressively at him, but as he is still warded by Eruanna's might, do not strike at him. He hopes to pour out oil under their feet but each time he gets close enough, they move away. He re-adjusts a few times, spilling out two of his bottles in failed attempts, but they don't seem inclined to stand in the puddles of oil for him.

Idriss, Pendleton, Dare, and Grimble stand back from the door as the operation continues, in the middle of the salty room with the octopus-woman ceiling mural. They are intently watching as the drama unfolds with Ablesforth trying to find a way to burn them all unsuspectingly... so focused, in fact, that they are surprised as another patch of the half-headed spawn rush at a full run around the corner and through the doorway on the opposite wall behind them, coming along the same course as the solid thread of weaving incense smoke. Thirteen more creatures burst into the room and are on the party before they can react. Thankfully, the protections from such evil as them still hold - they succeed in harrying and scattering Idriss, Dare, and Pendleton in the moment, separating the party from each other. A pile of them dive onto Grimble, who tries futilely to block them all with his shield, backing away as a few slashing, grimy claws find purchase on his flesh (-2).

Those spawn inside the room, emboldened by their companions appearance, seem to have been prepared to leap forward in unison as part of the surprise. They pile onto Neegan in the doorway - his crossbow momentarily serving as a parrying device as the surprise coordination as he too tries to defend from their claws (-3, -4).

The eyeless creatures don't seem deterred by Pendleton's invisibility and harry him as much as Dare and Idriss. He feels his enchantments against such supernatural evil buckle under their assault... he knows his protection will expire in no more than a moment...

...I extended Pendleton long enough to allow warning. Can someone look back the thread and find the timestamp for when Dare received his Protection? I should've been tracking that duration under the Effects.

Yeah, the relentless onslaught of half-heads has gotten more than a little old. Retreating to the surface isn't a bad idea.

I haven't updated it since this version, but I'm not sure if we've seen anything new. I need to go back and re-read the last few pages of actions to figure that out (or y'all can tell me, if you know).

The door to the bunk room is stone, its lock now is broken. The other three doors are all good-quality wood doors, all of them unlocked when you last checked them. The door on your left and to the Mandala room do in fact have locks, just are not locked. The door opposite you where the incense smoke leads has no lock.

The door on your left as you exit the bunkroom is where the goblins came from in your last encounter. The door to the mandala room has blood seeping through the seal at its base.

Able shouts a suggestion to head back for the room with the knotwork pattern on the floor, offering to lock it behind them, once they are through. He will use his warding to help ferry the others out of the room. If he can cast while walking, he will offer healing to Neegan.

As long as Dolph's torch is lit, I'll hold off casting light.
