The Princess

"Wait. She said she got something from you, but you can't think what? And there is a child that looks like you? Sounds like you may have laid with Momma!" She chuckles in spite of the seriousness and continues.

"I'm not sure what manner of creature can do these things, but my guess is inhuman. Magical. Demonic." She stops and gauges the crowd. "I mean, it's just a guess."

"I think you're on the right track Princess. And Luther, you may have given the gift that keeps on giving. Now where you might be of the most help Luther, is in keeping the line of communication open with Momma. Spying can go two ways, and if you feel you can not admit you've told us about her, but feed her some less than useful info that sounds good, and during the chat get anything out of her about her goals and origin that would be helpful. But, if you don't feel up to such a deception I would be the first to understand."

Wake

Liam had his arms crossed and his face scrunched up as he worked out what was being said. So... You say this woman has taken rulership... that she was once large, and nod skinny... I assume she speaks common? She gifted you some magical items after you gave her some nookie on the side... And you think your love child is magically growing at an accelerated rate, and wandering about the jungle...? Does that about cover it?

Keg speaks up. You don't think it is that Krystal person that people have talked about that disappeared some time back do you?

I am going to go through them again and list out the things that have happened/are happening around town while you all continue to work out this new development together.

Luther
Luther looks completely baffled- and embarrassed. If she can be huge fat for me and beautiful for the Sister, I guess she could be that slim, plain lady I bedded too...
I got no problem trying to spy on her, but I haven't seen Her since she gave me the bowstring. And I can't even guess whether the stuff she gave me could be spying on me.
I still want to find these obelisks- just to keep them away from her, if nothin' else. I'll need a day before I'm ready to go out again- I need to make some more field arrows. The bowstring's nice, but it burns up the arrows.

OM: has the boy been seen around Clifftown?

When the discussion ends, Luther will spend a day working up field arrows.

New Revelations!

The princess doesn't have any good news for Keyon and his magic carpet, since the spell she needs to fix the textile is one she has yet to learn. Perhaps one of the other mages will be able to help at some point. Wake inquires about pearls, but gets no reply from the Princess or anyone else.

Feanol takes some time to cast ancient magicks that will bond her to a nearby animal that she can claim as her own. The grueling process eventually brings her a friend that flies down to land upon her shoulder like some fancy elven pirate with a big hat.
With a large group of explorers sitting around the cookfire discussing their next plans, the topic of the circular diagram comes up, mostly for the obelisks and the more interesting notation on the parchment, the as of yet undiscussed "Fun House".

Before things get detailed out too much, the conversation turns to what happened with Mayor Daisy at the natives camp. Then, before anyone has a chance to digest what has been said, Luther the Bear drops a revelation on them that nobody was expecting. The ranger seems embarrassed by the whole thing, asking if any of the magic types can cast detection magic on him to see if he is under some kind of spell.

After his bombshell has been revealed, the questionably gifted red stone in the rangers pocket starts to get warm, then hot, before it becomes impossible for him to keep it on his person anymore. He tosses the stone to the ground and something very strange happens. Where the stone lands, a large red oval shimmering veil of magic starts to form, scintillant and swirling before eventually coalescing into a deep red glowing portal. From this portal emerges a human sized figure in bright shining golden armor. When the figure removes its helmet, the young man behind the armor looks eerily similar to Luther.

If memory serves and that image is what I think it is I guess this fight is destined to end with Luther's son impaling him on a gigantic spear...

Amun gasps and draws her jagged sword looking frantically around. At Luther, at the figure, is anybody approaching from around them? From above?

She starts walking in a wide circle around the gold clad boy man, as to end up on the opposite side of him compared to Luther.

"Luther?!"

Maag

Maag looks over at Luther, smiles, and shakes his head in a dear-oh-dear way. "Shaggin' der natives, eh? Dis is der kind of fing dat 'appens when yer forget der Golden Rule: ' Don't get yer pleasure where yer get yer treasure!' "

Maag draws 'arry der Bastard's Sword and begins to circle the boy too.

He will avenge his mother with the same method it was used on her. What an irony.

The cleric of Boccob steps back and looks around, like Amoun does, in case other foul beings are coming towards them from other directions. He draws his two handed sword.

Liam steps back at the sudden appearance of the young man in fancy armor. One guy... how much of a threat could he be. Aside to whoever is listening. You know, technically this is a domestic dispute, should any of the rest of us really be getting involved? What is the official legality of this sort of thing? he muses.


Keg looks at the old man with a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot eye and then back at Luther and his apparent spawn. Yeah, Maag. I agree.
We have the same saying back home, Don't get your honey where you make your money. Luther? This your boy? Looks kind of scrawny under that fancy pants armor. Should of fed him more blackroot as a baby... Would have put hair on his chest.

The big norseman also moves to help surround "Fancy Pants"

The Princess

"Wow. I don't think I've ever been proven right so quickly before." She checks to see who heard her, then quickly adds. "I mean, crap." The Princess suddenly claps her hand to her mouth and exclaims. "The Card! The one you chose! It was the Devil!"

"Watch yourselves! My guess is that either only Luther can hurt this fiend or that only others can. Will someone please test that theory? Magical blades only." She speaks directly to the fiend next.

"Since you mean to kill him, you should do your father the honor of knowing your name. Introduce yourself, it's only proper."

Luther
By the time Jr. appears, Luther is on his feet, sword in hand.

IF you get back to your Momma, tell her I ain't too happy with her, either. I don't mind helpin' a mage, but when ya start talking slaves, it's time to die.

Clear us a space, people! Time to show this BOY how to treat his elders.

As he says this, Luther's eyes turn a golden yellow. The hair on his arms and neck stands up, bristling like an angry wolf. His voice gets more gravelly, closer to a bear's growling roar than a human voice.

Yrias

Yrias leaves some room between him and the fighting duo. He doesn't sheath his sword just in case but lowers it, the point touching the sand, and watches the combat attentively.

The Knife

Down by the cliffs, a few yards back into the trees, The Knife starts construction on a lean-to. "Too many people in these shelters. Can't get a good night's sleep", he mutters to himself. "What do you mean you've been sleeping fine? You don't even sleep! Lucky for me really, I bet you'd snore if you did. Oh yes you would. And steal the blanket too. Well then, if you can sleep, go back to it and let me get on with my work!"

He uses his large knife to start chopping up sections of wood to create a frame. Just enough to make it gnome-sized. Nice and cozy. Nobody else squeezing in here. Let the humans sleep on top of one another. Once that's done, he searches the surrounding area for large leaves, then unravels his 10' length of rope and uses the strands to securely lash his shelter together.

The Princess

Question about time-free in town. Should I hold off on other business while this duel is going on, or can I muddy things up by doing other things that would happen outside the duel timeframe?

Having nothing that will aid in this fight she will observe, but stay out of the way.
