Able remains linked to Dolph as they try to move the dwarfs through the throng of sniffers. Jest a bit more, brothers. He suggests to Idriss that he either help moving the packs, or they pour holy water on the floor in the doorway.

Can someone roll initiative, please?

Lower numbers are better on Stat rolls - Dare did awesome! :)

Neegan splits open the skull of a sniffer (-10), dropping a second one unmoving to the floor, while Grimble's maul catches only air. With two still wrestling with each other, it leaves nine desperately trying to murder you all and eat your flesh.

Dare and Idriss reinsert themselves bodily between Neegan, Grimble, and the slathering demons - an act of immense bravery for the acrobat and wizard in the face of such hell-sent horror. Dolph and Ablesforth lock arms and create a chute, funneling the two dwarves out of the room through the doorway without letting the half-headed sniffing demonspawn escape after them. Pendleton comes with two more packs (Dare and Neegan), skirting through their barricade, leaving only Grimble's personal items and bedroll still inside the chamber.

The thin ribbon of smoking incense coils where it overlaps, the incense now sitting on the floor next to Ablesforth's pack, the ribbon still maintaining its smoke trail out the doorway on the other side of the room and through archway immediately on the left. Dolph tries to brace the broken door against the slathering horde within the room. "What next? These guys are still strong..."

(Round #4!)

Effects: Invisibility (Pendleton) Protection from Evil (Ablesforth, Idriss, Dolph, Pendleton), smoldering incense (until 8:20pm)
Injuries: Neegan (minor wounds), Grimble (minor wounds)

Pendleton continues with his pack relocation service. He ponders whether he should state a disclaimer of bailment or liability for damage to the contents of the packs. But he realizes that, having already begun performing the service, it is too late to obtain consent.

The logistics of that are difficult - Dolph is holding the door-remains against nine slathering foes. How does Pendleton get back through the crowded doorway without releasing the creatures into your current room?

Able helps Dolph hold the door while asking Dare and Idriss to pour holy water at their feet to create a pool/puddle in the doorway, hoping the sniffers won't be eager to melt their feet. He encourages the dwarfs to throw flasks of holy water into their midst so Pendleton can escape the room.

Neegan once thru the door grabs his pack. Takes 2 flasks of holy water pours one at the doorway. The other he will attempt to flash at the faces of the spawn as they try to push the door open. Maybe blinding them will slow them.

Ablesforth and Dolph hold the door as the half-headed deamons slam against it. Neegan pours out a small puddle on the door jam, hoping they'll step in it, then joins Grimble in flinging the blessed holy water through the door as they claw for fingerholds against Able and Dolph's efforts. Three of the creatures sizzle and howl as the water covers them - the door slams flush as they pull back and then the portal ceases to heave and struggle, the remaining creatures appearing to have retreated within. Pendleton, Idriss, and Dare stay clear of the narrow altercation at the door, watching the thin ribbon of smoke wind and undulate like a snake across the room with the Octupi goddess mural above, through the door on the far side, and around the corner through the archway to the left.

This is reading like we are all outside the room, including Pendleton. Is that right? And did we shut the door on them?

Able was hoping to create a pool of holy water on the floor of the doorway to dissuade the sniffers from exiting the room, then tossing oil into the room and lighting it. Don't know if we could get them all that way, though.

And if we really did just get them all out, maybe Able and Dolph could just try and let one or two out at a time so Grimble and Neegan can kill them without being overwhelmed. Thoughts?

Yes, you are all outside the room. They are inside the room. The door is closed and they are not banging. You broke this door open originally, though, so the latches/locks don't work.

There is a puddle in the doorway. Neegan poured it.

If you are throwing in oil, it is individually targeted and burns the victim two rounds.

Thanks M.

Able almost says something, but decides Neegan must not be talking literally, since the sniffers don't actually have eyes. Instead he points out that they are not banging on the door. Anyone mind if I peek in? If'n they're all cowerin', I might-could pour out oil on the floor around 'em an' then someone light it. Burn 'em all. He waits for input from the others.

Neegan- Pendleton,Ildriss, & Dare should be ready holy water. Neegan will stand to of the door with his axe as Able opens the door. Sound like a good idea?

Neegan holds his axe ready as Ablesforth cautiously steps around the puddle on the floor and opens the door just enough to peek in. The room is still red-lit by the glowing ceiling - he clearly sees the six half-headed demonspawn cowering in the corners, their fallen companions still sprawled on the floor.

Able pulls three flasks of oil out of his pack and walks into the room. As long as the demons seem to cower, he continues with his plan to pour oil on the floor at their feet - choosing the corner with the most sniffers. Once done he stands in front of the door again and asks Neegan to light the oil with a flaming arrow from his crossbow. I'd hate t'have this lot creep up behind us if we press on.

Neegan puts oil on the end of the bolt lights it then fires it into the oil.
