After leaving three of their numbers back at the Caves, the remaining members of the party have little patience for a simple minded gate guard.

Loyn gets a strange look after his question. "Puppies? No, I don't think we've had any wagon loads a' them lately. We got so dang many cats around here already that we don't need any more critters for a while. If it's dogs yer lookin fer, go see Devereau in the mornin. He's always got a few of em around."
