Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Yes, I thought it was agreed upon that we were just going to sell and then split the profits evenly. With the spells and other stuff people want to keep, is that then subtracted from their share of the money?

Akhilleus
Keeps on guard duty.
Saving Throw (Death, Transformation) - [1d20+2]=19+2=21 +4 = 25 Whatever produced the venom, dies
Regarding the treasure, it's like Sik just said. The treasure is divided for security purposes. The magic types should carry whatever suits them best.

Ceana accepts the potions and tucks them away after reading the labels. "Antidote? For what I wonder?" she wonders aloud, looking up at Belloc. "How are you feeling, my friend? You've been through a lot as the possessor of a staff of great power."

Under The Zakath Desert
Ding Dong.....
Late Afternoon?
Cyril secures the maggot in a clay pot, speaking to it, poking at it, and feeding it inquisitively. He gets little indication that it is dangerous in this state, but it does seem to show minimal intelligence of some kind. If it weren't for the horrible stink and weird dwarf face, it might make for a curious pet.
While the group rests and guards against intrusions, Ceana and Taibhse set to work brewing a fungal concoction that should heal their friends. Since they need two seperate cures, they each try their luck with the recipe, hoping that at least one of them gets it right. After adding one of each of the different specie of fungus, they add the final secret toadstool ingredient, following the witches writings to the letter. With two of the three living plants of each color now used, they simmer and steep the brew until they think they have it perfect. The only thing left to do is to let them both cool and administer them to Sik and Drest, who continue to feel the effects of their rat disease increasing.
Whenever Akhilleus lays down to rest, he gets a visitor in the darkness. Though the smaller toads and frogs are annoying, they don't otherwise appear dangerous as they jump around on you. However, the fighter who landed the killing blow on its Matron is a massive toad of a different color. White in this case. Akhilleus awakens to find the huge toad familiar sitting on his chest, drooling its poisonous secretions onto his face and mouth. With a gasp that accidentally causes him to inhale some of the slime, the fighter easily resists the poison drool, knocking the huge toad off him before throwing it violently against one wall where it slides back down to the floor with a thud.
Actions?
Let's consider this a proper rest phase, so everyone may benefit from some R&R. Each of you may sleep long enough to regain one Hit Die of health back, even though only a couple of you are injured.
Once I see an action that the finished brews are quaffed, and everyone is content to leave this area, we can get things moving along again.
Can Sik and Drest include a Test of Constitution with their next actions, please?

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Akhilleus pierces the toad with the tip of his sword to kill it, only if it moves after being thrown against the wall.
After that, he attempts to rest, although the thought of another toad drooling on his chest prevents him from enjoying a deep sleep. Rest that wasn't very peaceful to begin with, given the environment they are in.
Not rolling for hp since Akhilleus only lost 1hp.

Cyril sighs, looking at his new "pet". "I wonder why you stink so bad...?"
He then beds down for a rest. As he drifts off, he is thinking how strange this place was.
Not injured but spells are rememorized:
CLW, Cause Fear, Command

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
As we rest, heal and recover spells, why don't we also award some experience points while we're at it?

Looks like 4 of you leveled up, and a few more are on the cusp.
Go ahead and add your HD rolls into your Sheet threads while we await the final actions here.
Thanks and Congrats to those who leveled.

better, relived might be a better word, Overcoming the witch's grip was a formidable challenge, but we might have ended up as worm pets otherwise....
I understand the skepticism among our companions, but some things need to be done, and despite my efforts to be transparent about the unfolding situation, acceptance is difficult for them due to the perceived lack of control. Perhaps revealing the true nature of the staff was a misstep, but I believe honesty, even if not immediately trusted, is preferable to deceit in navigating these challenges.
there is a struggle but not a compromise, i sense a gradual shift in my favor, gaining the upper hand, or perhaps we are becoming intertwined, but i trust you and Taibshe to help me tell the difference
in the morning he awakens refreshed very early he starts his studying routine

Ceana smiles and puts a gentle hand on Belloc's shoulder. "I'm not going to turn on you or abandon you, my friend. We've bled together, and that means something where I come from."
Winter is coming...
Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Xenos awakens from his sleep
"Ceana, perhaps you can guide us as to which of these vegetables would be safe for a breakfast, to save on our rations. So, what next? It seems the logical choice is to head across the river to the dwarves cave. That or do some more investigation on this shore, although that might find us some other danger, or even alert the dwarves."
Xenos is already at full hp, and and is not going to change his spells.

Taibhse
Feeling invigorated and more empowered with the shift in level he will be happy to assist in determining what to eat and what not to eat.
He would also gather some of those that have other properties and carefully store them for later use if needed.
Having a day passed here he will check out the two patients, and if the potions did not work, he will turn to the ever flowing power of Raven to cure them.
He will check on Belloc. Apologizing for falling under the witches spell and not being able to assist him in need.
To Xenos Maybe we try to contact the dwarves from this side of the river to see if we can determine if they are indeed friend of foe. If they are quarrelsome by all means let us fight, but if they are not, then no need to force a fight.

Akhilleus
"I'm for crossing the river and exploring the dwarfs area." He says while gathering his equipage.
To Taibhse: "I wonder if they reason at all. They're aggresive. They attacked us as soon as they saw us. Perhaps they had bad experiences with the snake folk and thought we were of them. But they saw pretty primitive and irrational to me."

The druid gives Xenos a nod and begins picking a few shrooms and veggies for breakfast. "It would be nice if we had some eggs to go with these," she sighs as she works.

Now on the question of dwarfs. Do we all agree that our primary goal is exploration...and the second plunder? Perhaps a final goal for me is to solve the mystery of the Dwarf faced maggot...I do not mind him but do not wish to be his permanent keeper.
Azathoth has blessed me with an increase in power once more. I feel quite alive today."
