I get rapidly out of my depth when games get excessively political - but I don't get the impression we're in imminent danger of ending up like a certain Three Kingdoms Fate game* that I eventually ended up bowing out of because I had no idea what I was doing.

I'm perfectly happy to just follow y'all's lead in that side of things - Earnan is also not particularly political and will happily go along with Jiho. I'm just here to chew some scenery and possibly collect a hench-menagerie. (If we get to Kraka Grak and turn out to need someone to start wailing aloud about Balrogs, I'm your elf.)

*apparently not the first Three Kingdoms game that Scarik had run that someone here might remember.

Regarding treasure, Morwen appreciates being able to recoup any expenses, however she also understands that they're dealing with important artifacts. Therefore, if something comes up where the Dawi can't afford all that's found, perhaps an arrangement can be made where we 'gift' it to them in exchange for favors at a later time?

As for the political side of things, like her mentor before her, Morwen wants to keep Ravenswell safe while also maintaining good relations with the nearby factions and settlements. She also trusts JJh and is willing to listen to his counsel regarding matters that her kind aren't fully familiar with. However, anything that may cause harm to her and hers will be subject to some scrutiny.

CarrieVS, I am reliably informed that there is extant similarity eerieness. :SAN: We had one of the other 3K players here for a bit but life seems to have consumed his time.

For the political side of things, or really for any sort of game subset, my understanding is that if you want something it can be discussed and if you don't want to be in something then you're fine. One of the big wins is that scarik is fine-tuning the rules and such so whatever side-adventures you like will probably give him fuel for the rules refinement.

Roobeastie, Morwen has had time to observe JJh and he enjoys supporting his allies. She could build an undead army and confidently ask him to lead it. While not a mage in any sense of the word he has been very happy using whatever was at hand to defeat evil.

Actually, I'll confess to worrying that I flood scarik with too many notes. The worry doesn't last long, though, as he keeps answering. So far I have:

- An adventurer courting a noble lady. (JJh himself)
- A mercenary recruiting beer makers and crossbowmen while marrying into a Germanic, almost Hanseatic, family. (Drotik, who Earnan met)
- A low born squire sent to lead troops in support of an ally, then rescuing children and winding up in a diplomatic doorway.
- A priestess marrying a cute foreigner. (Hemia and Si-woo)
- A spy operation turning into a rom-com.

Tomorrow I should get to the treasure. Most of it is portable. Aside from the furniture, workshops and arms for a hundred Dwarves.

Hemia has enough SP for Bless, plus can heal as needed.

Can Morwen wizard lock the door after we leave, so we dont have to retake it?

JJh hadn't forgotten the blood splatters, but figured Morwen and the priests would investigate once the threat was reduced.

Hey guys, hope you're having a good day... or night... or evening 🌐 ok, just a good time in general!

I'm Ladki/Lads, and I'm Discord pals with scarik, roobeastie and Carrie, who invited me to this game :) Let's have some fun

Note: I live in India, so due to the wacky timezone posting in real time/coordinating with other PCs on posts might be difficult, so apologies for that

Welcome Ladki! Timezones aren't that big of an issue since we usually take a day or two for responses. Sometimes longer, depending on how involved the current action is. We just had a huge battle and things were going fairly quickly, at the one or two days rate. Before that we spent two weeks planning tactics for the fight.

The part of my waking hours that overlap with yours may help to fill the hours of waiting before North America gets online.

Yes, Morwen can definitely do that. As for the blood spatter, I wasn't sure if Borav was interested in looking into them in light of the working theory in Morwen's head that some Dwarf betrayed the Thane...

edited to add: Morwen would like to use the necromantic power, if possible, for the wizard locking. She also will want to do some investigating of the wight remains, but it's doubtful anyone else will want to join her in that.

Okay, it's late for me and my brain is frizzled. Here are the lines I'm thinking through:

To cleanse this lingering taint the dead must first be gathered and proper rites conducted for them. Then an altar must be erected and consecrated. So long as that altar remains no evil will be able to take hold.

and

Building an altar costs 1000p and takes a week to empower it.
Temporary cleansing for this area requires 15 casts of Bless (5 hours if done as a ritual costing ~300p) and 10 more hours to actual walk and perform the rites so 2 full days.
Doing neither allows Morwen to use the focusing crystal she took from the altar to freely cast 1000p of ritual spells to secure the area. She can drain the unused magic at a rate of 1 shilling/level/day and store it for later.

Am I correct in suggesting this as a way forward:

1. Hemia begin the 2 days of Blessing and walking (cost 300p).
2. Meanwhile Earnan, Erikir, and those wishing to not be dealing with the dead bodies set up a secure camp close by, maybe at the mouth of the entrance? We still have wolves and goblins to worry about.
3. I'm not sure what, if anything, Morwen can drain off quickly. I don't mind if she does, but we need to get the site so that it does not regrow undead before we leave.
4. JJh, Si-woo, and anyone else who can/wants to bring out the bodies while Borav does the rites for them.
5. Once what we can do is done the Dawi can take charge of building a proper alter. JJh will contribute the coin if necessary. If it can be done later, like after Springkeep, that might be best. But for that we need to neutralize the area.

That's all fine with me.
