The small but sturdy humanoids shout senselessly and charge as the group intercepts their front ranks, striking first before they can advance too far. Drest injures his opponent, drawing first blood but getting hacked in return by the business end of a pick for his effort. 4 dam

The dangerous fighter Akhilleus charges in from the rear, nearly killing his opponent with a pair of well timed blows. He too is hit in return, though it.......tis but a scratch. 1 dam

Xenos shouts out an order a little too late, but he and his enemy only trade ineffective blows. It seems to the Warlock that the creature is trying to target the groups one and only torch, instead of trying to cave in his skull.

The injured Cyril wisely keeps his distance, bouncing a stone off the chainmail armor of the runt on the right, the same one the two armed slaves also attack. One of them is badly injured as well, thanks to their lack of any proper armor or real training. The slave staggers, but as of yet still draws breath. The Priest of Azathoth calls out for information as to what these creatures actually are, but none in the group has ever seen their like before. He does notice that they smell quite pungent, with a weird earthy tone.

The pair in back seem shaken and confused by the sudden attack, unsure if they should throw the sharp javelins directly into the backs of the fighters. The enemy continue to speak in a language that none of you understand. Again, it sounds like something the Viking Snorri might have spoken, but their language sounds even more ancient than his.

Xenos redoubles his effort against the creature in front of him:

Initiative: [1d6]=6

Scimitar (long): to-hit [1d20+4]=17+4=21, damage [1d8+3]=7+3=10

If the above roll drops the creature, he'll aim his second attack at the one attacking Drest.

Scimitar (long): to-hit [1d20+4]=13+4=17, damage [1d8+3]=3+3=6

Akhilleus keeps attacking at his opponent. If he kills it, he will try to interpose himself between Drest and his, so the scout doesn't get further injures.

Broad sword (one-handed) - To hit: [1d20+2]=6+2=8; Dmg: [1d8+3]=1+3=4

Broad sword (one-handed) - To hit: [1d20+2]=16+2=18; Dmg: [1d8+3]=8+3=11

I'm posting this third attack in case the enemies are level 1, which I doubt. You can tell me if I drop it for the next rounds, so I don't see potential good rolls (ha!) gone into nothing.

Broad sword (one-handed) - To hit: [1d20+2]=5+2=7; Dmg: [1d8+3]=3+3=6

If you didn't notice the amount of damage the first target took, these fellows are definitely higher than 1st level.

Drest hits the adversary in front of him, deftly dodging the counter attack while he calls out to protect the only torch in the room.

The badly injured Xenos makes two satisfying attacks upon his enemy, taking a hack in return on his torch arm that causes not only minor pain, 2 dam but increases the possibility of dropping their only light source. give me a Test of Dex along with your next attack, please

Cyril slides a bit closer to the danger, letting fly another stone that hits the runt fighting Xenos right in the head. He staggers a bit from the blow, clearly badly injured at this point, yet the diminutive aggressor somehow remains upright.

Akhilleus strikes the badly wounded figure on him, killing it easily with his second sword strike before looking to protect Drest next.

The frightened and untrained slaves with the group show their apprehension, the rear guard moving ever so slowly towards the danger. The pair fighting the final enemy do not fare well against it, doing it no harm while one of them is brutally killed by a heavy blow to his head. Whatever these things are, they seem to actually enjoy the bloodshed, shouting loudly whenever a new wound or killing blow is administered by one of them.

Trying to defend himself before he falls to the enemy once again, Xenos drops his torch. It flickers for a bit on the cold stone before going out completely, leaving the already struggling fighters nearly blind as they continue this deadly battle.

You clearly hear the dying groans of another slave as it falls prey to a devastating pick blow, enticing another slave to attempt an attack with his borrowed javelin that fails spectacularly.

As Cyril struggles frantically to get another torch lit, Drest and Akhilleus assail their foe with a fury of blows which brings the already injured creature to its knees, dying on the floor with its strange looking comrade.

Once the room is wreathed in torchlight again, the group sees only 2 adversaries still standing.

Cyril closes partway toward the nearest combatant, making sure the area is plenty lit and brandishing the torch ahead of him like a weapon.

Ideally he should be close enough that he can move and attack on his next turn if needed

Drest and Akhilleus gang up on the dwarfed humanoid attacking Xenos, the three of them eventually taking this third adversary down before it can issue out any more damage to them.

Cyril moves closer to the final enemy, watching as a third unarmored slave is smashed in his head and brought to the floor. The last remaining slave decides to pull away from the combat before he too is easily killed. The creature snarls and turns towards the priest, a frothy spittle dripping from its half opened mouth filled with horrible looking teeth.
