[LFG] Adventures in the Wilderlands (pre-Hobbit)

I am good with Jernau35 taling a Hobbit with Foraging/Fighting and I will take the Stoor with Fighting/Sneaking. It will leave the primary fighters as Hobbits which I think is cool. Maybe I was some sort of Sheriff.

Thanks! It would make sense for him to have some family in Erebor, but even if he wants to help his people his intentions aren't completely selfless...

He has the heart of a dwarf...I'd expect no less!

For myself I think my Dwarf Merchant is going to go for Carousing (Haggling), Foraging (Guiding, Shooting). He's a travelling, but he's a trader not some Ranger, so I figure he's more like to have a crossbow or something to guard his goods than know how to track deer through the forest on a moonless night or something like that.

Ha, good to hear, as always. It's important others beyond yourself can dig your character, even if you're always your own biggest fan!

I'm up for having a social link between the characters if you want to try developing that.

I feel like Lofar would've ran into Barwuf in the middle of a journey south to Gondor or back north to Erebor, but it could've been during a catastrophe Barwug helped avert to earn his friendship? Or during a more peaceful lull where he ran into a local stranger who, perhaps, offered his company a place to stay for the night? I'd be interested in anything that comes to your mind.

Should we move all this discussion to a char gen thread in the main game at some time?

That makes sense to me. No need to split everything between three different threads.

I was hoping we could totally ignore continuity with LotR in all its world-shaking, "angels and demons in conflict with mortals mere pawns"-type grandeur. On the other hand, a single hobbit travelling through Rohan might not necessarily come to the attention of the royal family and the riders - except as a rumor of a small-statured foreign man.

That's fair enough. He can still head down the river for a while, and still ending up heading through Rohan. It's a route that could facilitate meeting up with another PC prior to arriving in Minas Tirith.
