The 'Wind Speaker' feature for a Storm Sorcerer definitely gives you the Primordial languages; but I see that the Sage background gives you two languages of your choice (I see you added 'Draconic' and 'Deep Speech' as your choices).Marullus wrote:I don't have an issue with staying a Storm Sorcerer. I debated between it and Wild Magic and went with Storm Sorcerer as more to-theme even though it's main ability (speak Primordial) was redundant due to his Sage background.
I didn't read about the Sea Sorcerer and don't know how they manage or handle the ability to breathe underwater, but that definitely raises a red flag in my mind when it comes to game balance (which is one of the main reasons I completely ignore UA content).Marullus wrote:I really like swapping it for the ability to breathe underwater (a great explanation for how he is a scholar of deep ones and the sea in the first place!) but it doesn't impact play here greatly.
There are other ways to gain the ability to breathe underwater (magic item, spell, etc...) and, especially for the adventure I have in mind, I think it's important that a character earn that ability and not just start with it.
