Denslow Svetlegk initative [1d20-4] = 16-4 = 12

Denslow swings his great Svetlegk at #6. Denslow Svetlegk attack [1d20+3] = 14+3 = 17, dmg [1d10] = 1

One point of damage? Again??? This baddie is luckier than me!

The bubbly, pinkish foam burbling forth from Farmanus' destroyed nose paints two sickly diagonal currents across his cheeks and down the sides of his neck, giving him the look of a snot-nosed preschooler in a wind tunnel. He has never been hit so hard in his life. He opens and closes his mouth in a deliberate manner to gauge the damage to his nose while staring cross-eyed at its pulverised bridge. Summoning the fortitude to do what is necessary, he pulls down hard on the sliver of bone which has penetrated his brain pan, aiming to set it in place. A piercing, pathetic whimper is briefly audible above the reverberating din of battle. "I feel stupider," declares Farmanus through bloody teeth to the nice man who materialises beside him. It is a minor blessing that some trace of the slug's anaesthetic remains in Farmanus' system.

Once again, the former member and present reject from the Rodenbury Uber Sapiens Force flings himself into the fray, his even-more-enfeebled mind bent on crimson revenge.

Initiative [1d20+3] = 4+3 = 7

Attacking those attacking Monkey & Mr. Apples [1d20+4] = 18+4 = 22

Damage with spear [1d8+3] = 8+3 = 11

Bleeding, the seagull man will try his best to shoot the enemy

[1d20+2] = 6+2 = 8
(and will spend the remaining 8 luck points to get a 16)

[1d6] = 6 (dmg)

Belial
The baboon chooses not to attack, instead using his svetlak to try and block the attacks from the Mortons. He begins falling back, still engaged with the creatures.

Tunnel Complex, 298D/81 (Afternoon)

OOC: I am resolving the actions of those outside the turntable chamber while we wait for Kurot and Bruce post their Round 8 actions. I will amend the round after their posts.

Silvestri concentrates with glowing yellow eyes at the two white-haired ogres next to Farmanus. He feels the bond form with one of the savages (#13), and the psionist commands it to move against his brethren attacking Belial and Denslow. The humanoid charges at one of his companions (#6) and sticks him with his sword! (4pt. dmg) The beast howls with shock!

OOC: In character terms, Silvestri is worried that his power affected only one of the Gamlocks. In meta gaming terms, their combined hit die are more than 10.

  • ~ A beast-man (#3) strikes Denslow with its sword, twice! (10+5 = DMG 15) The plantient is severely wounded by the attack and large amounts of sap trickle down his trunk and drips onto the floor.

OOC: Denslow is down to 2 hit points!

    Image

The brute against Belial (#5) gets the initiative on the winged manimal and swings twice at him. (MISS/MISS)

The underdweller (#6) instinctively counter attacks against the friendly sword strike! (7+11 = 18pt. dmg) Not until his comrade howls in pain does the savage realize his mistake!

OOC: Silvestri just saved Denslow from #6’s attack, which would have killed him

Suffering from his wounds, Denslow turns his attention to a different target (#3) and nicks the pale-eyed humanoid with his polearm. (1pt. dmg)

OOC: Denslow may still make a normal (20ft) move this round.

  • ~ The lone white-haired ogre (#12) slashes Farmanus’ side with its sword! (DMG 9) The Uber Strain Human does not feel this cut because of the nose strike from the previous attack.

Farmanus momentarily pauses to assess the damage to his face. Although rejected by the Uber Sapiens, he learned the ability to channel his rage and subdue such overwhelming pain. With focused retribution, Farmanus thrusts the metal spear into the gut of his opponent! (11pt. dmg) The beast-man howls with pain and grasps the spear with its clawed hands.

Belial parries with his svetlegk and withdraws from the battle.

OOC: Do you want to make a full move or a double move out of the combat zone?

Belial

Come on, Senor Tree! Let's fall back!

Belial will take a full move. The main intent is to withdraw without prompting a free attack by the Mortons

Round 8

Kurot continues hacking with his axe, ruminating on the fact that it seems to like quite a number of blows to kill these creatures. Perhaps he needs a sharper axe? Or a more advanced weapon.

Axe: [1d20+3] = 6+3 = 9 [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2
Axe: [1d20+3] = 11+3 = 14 [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5
Axe: [1d20+3] = 18+3 = 21 [1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6
Initiative: [1d20] = 14

Holding Round 9 actions for the moment until I know whether #10 is dead after round 8.

Farmanus the Unneeded - Round 9

Despite desperately wishing to rescue his rescuers, Farmanus must first deal with the beast-man in front of him. "Help Bullseye and Mr. Apples!" he implores the nice man behind him, spraying blood from his shattered face.

Farmanus lunges at the foul beast.

Initiative [1d20+3] = 17+3 = 20
Attack with spear [1d20+4] = 14+4 = 18
Damage [1d8+3] = 7+3 = 10

Out of character: I may have been making a mistake regarding my initiative over the last few rounds. I've been using my +2 Agility adjustment plus my CPU Birthsign of +1 for a total of +3 to initiative. Looking more carefully at my character sheet, I see the section where it says "Combat Basics - Initiative +3". Does that mean Farmanus is +3 or +4 to initiative? I mean, do I add my lucky roll to that +3, or has it already been included? Friendly reminder: I am now INT 6.

Silvestri sees his friends in serious danger and considers his next action carefully.

Initiative: [1d20] = 4

He once again summons his power of empathy:

Empathy: [1d20+6] = 13+6 = 19

I'll spend my full 11 luck points to bring that up to 30.

He feels his mind accelerate to a level he's never felt before as he realises he can sense the minds of his friends and his enemies. He focuses his mind on three of the enemy (#10, #11, #12).

"My loyal subjects, protect me from your treasonous brethren who would harm me! Hurry, they are already attacking my bodyguards down the tunnel" he gestures towards the enemy further down the tunnel past Denslow and Belial "Hurry! Attack!"

Silvestri should have enough movement if #11 is the edge of his power

Tunnel Complex, 298D/81 (Afternoon)

OOC: Round 8 Resolution; Turntable Chamber

Frank wields his longsword with might and accuracy against the beast-man (#10). The veteran slashes its left side (8pt. dmg) and rakes his blade across the brute’s face! (4+CRIT 13 = 17pt. dmg!) The pale humanoids face is reduced to a mass of bleeding flesh, but it remains standing!

Kurot steps forward and chops into the wounded organic with two deep hacks! (5+6=11pt. dmg – DEAD!) The bloody savage topples forward and plants onto the stone floor – DEAD!

  • ~ The disarmed white-haired ogre (#11) reacts to the furious attack from Ron, and rakes its clawed hands across the cyborg’s body! (DMG 10)

Ron counters with a glancing strike to the beast’s arm. (1pt. dmg)

MacMak fires a point-blank shot from his crossbow! (6pt. dmg)

OOC: He only used 4 luck points to hit the AC of 12)

Bruce bounds into the left tunnel and attacks the unarmed beast-man from the flank with a furious nunchaku barrage! (7+7=14pt. dmg) The pale savage reels from the beating and wobbles in its stance!

Belial withdraws to the trolley platform.

Deciding that Bruce, Ron, and MakMak seem to have the ogre handled—and surrounded—Kurot zooms down the hall to help Denslow.

If the tree-man hasn't been able to get away from the "morlocks" yet, Kurot rushes into melee, swinging his axe. If there's enough distance between Denslow and his attackers that Kurot can safely attempt a ranged attack, he fires three fast shots from his bow. But if the "morlocks" all seem to be fighting among themselves, Kurot will hold his fire.

Generic Attack Roll: [1d20] = 20 [1d6] = 1
Generic Attack Roll: [1d20] = 4 [1d6] = 3
Generic Attack Roll: [1d20] = 10 [1d6] = 3

Can I declare a ranged attack (from the cart) if Denslow gets free of the morlocks, and a melee attack if not? And can I say that Kurot only attacks any morlocks that don't seem to be busy attacking each other? If so, how should I roll all those contingent attacks?

Tunnel Complex, 298D/81 (Afternoon)

Farmanus concentrates on his immediate adversary (#12) and lunges with and drives the iron- handled spear directly into the beast-man’s stomach! (10pt. dmg) The pale savage bellows with agony and grabs his bleeding abdomen, wobbling on his legs!

Bruce continues his fury and batters the underdweller (#11) with his martial arts weapon! (9+7=16pt. dmg – DEAD!) The synthetic reduces the white-haired ogre to a bloody pulp of flesh!

Kurot turns his attention to those comrades in the main tunnel. He quickly determines that his plantient friend is in mortal danger, and the ancient construct zooms forward to block Denslow from harm. He presses in between the mutant tree and two of the brutes, arcing his axe down into the leg of the first one. (#3) The unnatural speed of the android breaks the humanoid’s leg! (2+4=7 pt. dmg) It drops to the floor and writhes with pain! Kurot turns and chops sideways into the second beast-man’s (#5) stomach! (4pt. dmg) The creature howls with pain, but remains standing.

OOC: Kurot and the group have a 17 initiative. Heroes go first.

  • ~ The hulk (#6) being attacked by his bretheren takes a few steps back and barks several times and lets out a savage howl!

The savage (#3) with a broken leg crawls back towards the side tunnel, howling with agony.

Enraged, the gray-skinned ogre (#5) near Kurot chops twice at the android but cannot make the mark! (MISS/MISS)

Frank moves back into the main tunnel to assist any in need.

OOC: Double move

MacMak is relieved to see the last beast-man fall. The manimal takes time to survey his wounds.

Ron follows Frank back towards the rail trolley.

OOC: Double move

Denslow falls back to the rail vehicle, avoiding the brute (#12) stabbed by Farmanus.

  • ~ The bleeding humanoid (#12) pulls back from the Uber Strain Human and bumps into his companion (#13) under Silvestri’s domination.

The dominated brute (#13) hacks into his fellow (4pt. dmg) who barks and screams in confusion.

OOC: The Domination effect ends this round

Finally, the psionist acts. Silvestri focuses and feels his mind accelerate; he senses the minds of a dozen or so sentients whirl through his consciousness. He shuffles through the psyches, sorting friend from foe.

OOC: Please restate Silvestri’s targets and commands based on the current situation map.

When the Morlock falls, Bruce scoops up MakMak and carries him back to the relative safety of the rail car. He then moves into position to provide missile support for Kurot with his sling shot.

Farmanus the Unneeded Round 9 Attack of Opportunity

Farmanus locates an exposed area in the beast-man's flank as it turns, and he thrusts at it with purpose.
Attack of Opportunity at additional +4 to hit: [1d20+8] = 9+8 = 17
Spear damage: [1d8+3] = 6+3 = 9
"Never get up forever and ever!" he bellows.

I assume these kinds of attacks get a +4 bonus to hit. Please do tell me if I'm wrong.
Farmanus' Round 10 action will depend on what happens to Beast #12 after it takes the above damage.

Silvestri focuses his power on #5 and #13.

"Loyal tribesmen, you have been betrayed! Some of the tribe have attacked their own kin as well as my bodyguards. They are trying to kill me and destroy the tribe. Kill the traitors, kill them!
