"No surprise, this is a mess" Urth thinks to himself when the elf shows doubt in the parties intention. He casts Prestidigitation to create as loud a knocking noise, to the right of the sellers along the barn wall, as he could. He inwardly hopes this sound could be thought of as someone bumping to wall outside.

Problems? "Something is not right here," are the last words spoken by the the elven seller before the situation escalate, and her guards took up a defensive position in front of her.
Kañ-Demir makes a show of setting his quarterstaff down. "Here, I am unarmed. Allow me and the tabaxi to approach and examine the egg," he says. "Our merchant patron -- " the monk continues, but is unable to continues. "Please, let me stop you right there," the elven seller says, interrupting him.
"Not you," she says, indicating the monk, and Catarina, the distracted tabaxi.
"You. I want to see you," she says, pointing at Grimbul. Dureau, the cleric, stands quietly by, and turns slightly to face Grimbul, playing the role of the dwarven merchant, but keeps a sharp eye on the elven seller.
Catarina, her bristling tail betraying her attempt at a calm exterior, keeps her attention and intense focus on the loft that looms overhead on the far side of the barn.
At the same time as Urth completes quietly muttering some words, and makes a subtle gesture with his hands, a loud a knocking noise, to the right of the sellers, is heard against the outer barn wall.
Taken by the distraction, the seller and her guards all quickly turn in that direction. The guards all arm their respective weapons. The seller turns to face Grimbul, then turns her gaze to Kañ-Demir.
"Are you alone?" she queries. "What kind of tickery are you up to?" she demands. A hint of anger is detected in her tone.
Your accent, mannerisms, figures of speech, and perhaps even your appearance all mark you as foreign. Curious glances are directed your way wherever you go, which can be a nuisance, but you also gain the friendly interest of scholars and others intrigued by far-off lands, to say nothing of everyday folk who are eager to hear stories of your homeland.
You can parley this attention into access to people and places you might not otherwise have, for you and your traveling companions. Noble lords, scholars, and merchant princes, to name a few, might be interested in hearing about your distant homeland and people.

Kañ-Demir, speaking in the slow, deliberate tones of someone trying to coax a jumper off a ledge: "Everyone is getting very heated. Let's settle down. We didn't bring anyone other than those whom you see before you. And I trust you didn't bring anyone else, either. Perhaps each party should send one of our number out to inspect the exterior of the barn. You send one, we'll send one, right? If there is a third party interfering with our transaction, we can take them, together."

Noise
The guards hold their respective positions in front of the seller, but continue to focus their respective attentions in the direction of Urth's distracting knock.
"What kind of tickery are you up to?" the elven seller demands angrily.
"The trickery is yours!Urth defensively argues while moving in from the doorway. "Who do you have outside? the warlock demands, gesturing in the direction of the sound. "If you planned on robbing us, you will find it harder than you thought!"
Grimbul stumbles a bit and looks to the noise in surprise. "What wwasss that?" he slurs. "Eh, you settin' us fer a trap?"
Kañ-Demir takes a cautious step forward. "Everyone is getting very heated," he says. "Let's all settle down now," he continues. "We didn't bring anyone other than those whom you see before you. And I trust you didn't bring anyone else, either. Perhaps each party should send one of our number out to inspect the exterior of the barn. You send one, we'll send one, right? If there is a third party interfering with our transaction, we can take them, together."
The seller appears to consider the monk's suggestion. She casts her eyes along the rank of her guards. Her eyes quickly dart to the location of the sound -- which does not repeat itself -- then quickly back to face the group.
"No," she starts. "We all stay right here." Tapping the guard furthest to her right on the shoulder, she instructs him to continue to monitor the location where the sound was heard. "The rest of you, on me."
She steps forward, stopping just in front of her line of guards, who now readily, but still casually, watch over her.
"Let's just get this over with, then go our own ways..."
Her focus quickly shifts to Grimbul, the the supposed merchant buyer. "You," she says. "You bring me the payment."

Since Kañ-Demir is now holding the bag, having caught it earlier, he walks forward with Grimbul.

Inspections "Go ahead, boss. Pay the knife-ear and get the egg so we can get out of here,"Dureau says, continuing to sell the false pretenses the group is operating under. Grimbul, the buyer, begins to approach and is followed by Kañ-Demir, holder of the bag of payment.
The seller keeps a close eye on Grimbul as the pair approach. She cocks her head slightly, peering intently at the pair of dwarves continue to close the gap between the parties. "You're not..." she continues to study her perspective buyer. "You're not exactly what I was expecting," she says, completing her previous thought.
Grimbul and Kañ-Demir arrive at her feet, interrupting the elven seller's study, so she averts her gaze upwards, looking the pair directly in the eyes, one after the other.
"Let me see the diamonds," she demands, seemingly willing to overlook the imperfect match after a moment of intense scrutiny passes. She gently sets the backpack -- with the unconfirmed egg in it -- down behind her, then extends her free right hand towards Kañ-Demir, and waits.

In the darkness, Kañ-Demir points Grimbul towards the sack that purportedly contains the dragon egg, while he then seeks to grapple the elf, hoping to keep her occupied long enough for Catarina to plant the pin on a blinded human.
Strength [1d20+1] = 12+1 = 13 If Athleticism counts towards grappling, then that's be another +2.
Although, Kañ-Demir's intention is more to distract and keep her focus elsewhere, so that might require a different roll.

Dureau Sathaos
With the lights out, the cleric is blind. He crouches defensively in an attempt to make himself a less obvious target for an enemy with darkvision.

Catarina uses her feline agility which doubles her speed until the end of turn during combat (Assuming this is now combat). She tries to go around the group and to the backside of one of the guards. Thanking the Cat Lord for her dark vision. She uses slight of hand so as not to alert the guard to her pinning the tracker his garment.
Depending if she has movement left and if she is not engaged with anyone she will move the rest of her movement to were she was standing before.
Edit: Not pinning on the elf. The nearest guard.

Light's Out "Let me see the diamonds," the seller demands, gently setting down the backpack with the egg in it.
Once the pack hits the ground, Urth utters a few mystic words and performs a quick arcane gesture -- then the lantern the seller's guard was carrying gets snuffed out, shrouding the area in near total darkness... effectively blinding the four human guards on the seller side, but Urth himself and Dureau are also affected.
"What is the meaning of this?!" the seller protests, but is interrupted by Kañ-Demir, rushing at her in an attempt to wrap her in a restraining hug. The elf easily slips out of the monk's attempt, but the distraction does provide just enough of a distraction for Grimbul to rush past the blinded guards and swap out the pouch of diamonds for the backpack, which he leaves behind. The backpack, which weighs roughly 20-pounds, is pretty encumbering.
With her catlike quickness, Catarina darts towards and around the nearest guard --
"You!" the seller yells at Catarina, spotting the tabaxi scampering towards one of her guards --
Cat easily plants the tracking pin on the fumbling human, then hears the seller calling her attempt out --
The rogue, using the seller's call as an excuse to feign a retreat, quickly scampers back to her original spot.
"Light!" the seller yells, angrily. "I can't see, boss..." the guard carrying the extinguished lantern cries as he drops his weapon and begins to fumble through his own backpack for another vial of oil, but not finding one.
Dureau crouches defensively and attempts to follow the happenings as best as he can using just his listening skills.

"You...!" the seller calls to no one, and everyone. "I knew you couldn't be trusted!"
---
Okay, you guys have secured the backpack and planted the tracking pin. Nice work!
The guards, Urth, and Dureau are in darkness, which equates to a heavily obscured area and are essentially blinded.
Blinded
A blinded creature can't see and automatically fails any ability check that requires sight.
Attack rolls against the creature have advantage, and the creature's attack rolls have disadvantage.
Kañ-Demir and Grimbul (with the backpack) are on the wrong side of the guards or mixed in with them.
The pouch of diamonds is on the floor next to the seller.
While we are not in combat yet, let's all roll for initiative here. Also, please declare any actions and movement for your character?
P.S. I have my live game tonight so I will most likely be unavailable until very late.

What's going on? Are we done here? Knowing some of his teammates are able to see, the cleric begins backing towards where he believes the open barn door is, hoping the others have completed the mission. He is content to allow the lights to remain out in case they need more time in the darkness.
In any case, unless combat breaks out before my turn comes up in initiative, I plan to disengage and move with Grimbul towards the exit.
Kañ-Demir holds up his hands and backs away from the elf, side-stepping the dark-blind humans. "I apologize for laying hands on you, but you seemed likely to bolt before we finished the exchange. You have your payment and we have our egg. We will leave you now. Do not follow us."
