Why cant he fight?
I think we know why he SHOULDNT fight, but why can he not ? He could if you want him to. Jump on the djinn's back like errol flynn.
Im not saying you should. If I was a player in the group with you, I'd ask ya not to do it, but .....as your DM , I highly recommend it.

Jacob is a Bard, not a Fighter. He's not in any danger, so he doesn't need to fight. He'd be useless in battle 'cause he can't fight. He'd best stay in the back and play music and talk to people and steal treasure

Bards are fighters, and arcane casters, and rogues all rolled up into one. He most certainly CAN fight.
He's not in any danger? You are on a 15 ft ledge with an air elemental loose in the room. At level 1, I'd say that constitutes danger.
Useless in battle? This part may be true. The Captain of the guard just proved useless too.
Stay in the back is perfectly legit action, though not the most heroic thing I could think of.
Playing music inspiring friends IS helpful and as long as you continue to play, they gain your song bonuses every third round.
Steal treasure? Wondering about the money in the monkey? Maybe the dinner plates?

Hope to get an action declaration from Scuzz, Thorar and Darius by tonight. I'll be posting in game thread by morning.

Almost done with the encounter. Will give Shonuff/Skuzz a little more time, due to his deadline. Ill post the next round resolutions tommorrow.
Has anyone given any thought on what to do with a captured djinn?
How about a portal to hell?

Dont know what happened to Skuzz. Ill let the dice determine what happens to him.
skuzz [1d20] = 2 [1d20] = 15[1d10] = 10

Until further developments, the party is split. Those in the land of Iuz, use the thread "Out thru the Inn Door".

I have removed Shonuff and Jobatett from the user group. In case either return I will give Skuzz back to Shonuff, (and ragnboneshopper can either bring in a fresh one, (or take over one , myabe both, of the guards, Benson and Hedges) but Jobatett will not be steppping thru (unless he does so sometime today) the portal with the rest of the group. If he returns later, I will run Jacob thru my solo adventure entitled "The Freshman Bard", if he wishes. Now to confirm that Epichicken is still active. HMmmmmmm...

Screw it then. Nayman will take a suit of Studded Leather anyway. I'll adjust the charsheet accordingly.

Sorry again, Stone, things just haven't let up as I thought. So if I'm not taking Skuzz, how's about I port my half-orc cleric over to 2.5? Not sure I have the game resources to do that (or even what to look for), so may take me a bit, but want in on this action in Luz and figure you could use a cleric. Also then need to think about a good greyhawk background for Agrim the Wanderer... (kind of a wandering monk type who reverences his dead human mother's pantheon -- or might be interested in converting him to a monk if that's possible, rolled him in 1e using race-class restrictions)

Sorry, no monk classes. (Tim KASK IS A FRIEND OF MINE, AND HE WOULD NEVER FORGIVE ME)
"Monks suck. Hate 'em. Never did like them. Never have one in my campaign, ever." Tim Kask, Q&A with Tim Kask, Dragonsfoot Forums, 2010.
You can roleplay your character as a monk-type, but the stats will not reflect it.
Sorry, its my little way of paying homage to the old guard.

We can just come up with your guy fresh....roll the stats and everything....4d6 drop lowest
Just remember, Any 2e character is allowed in 2.5 Players Option
(the OPTION is given for tweaking them to 2.5 but not mandatory.)
camp ID is 85
also....it isnt LUZ , its IUZ, with an i

Ok, cool, I'll work on it and let you know if I have questions... (and btw, just decided it would be easier to roll my own character and jump in fresh, as can't find time to absorb all of what happened to this point, though got the gist of it...)
Yes, Iuz, realized that after I posted (Greyhawk newbie here!)

I am going to Garycon 5 in March, the weekend of St Paddy's Day. Rob Kuntz is running his table of
your high level Gryehawk characters 12-14th levl. Wow. What an opportunity. I am not familiar enough with Greyhawk to sit in at his table. I hear he gets a little flustered with peeps who dont know Gryehawk and OD&D. All i know of Greyhawk? I learned from Vargr.
Im kidding, but not by much.
anyway, just a reminder that I wont be able to post while away those days.

GaryCon and Rob Kuntz OD&D would be awesome. I'm sure you'll have a blast even if you can't sit at Kuntz's table. Never been to a gaming con, myself, but have been thinking of going to one sometime when I can swing it. I think GaryCon would be my top choice for a first con...
Yep, very slowly getting my Greyhawk footing, with the help of you and Vargr. I remember the days when I could just sit and absorb a setting like water into a sponge...alas, not the time and no longer the spongy gray matter for it!

I was never the sponge. I was more like Teflon. I didnt want to learn names & places. I was mostly a games convention player and the systems changed from table to table, so I never settled in. I played Forgotten Realms for a few years and I know more about Greyhawk in just the '6' months Ive been here.

THAT'S why we play, yes? That "oh crap" moment. So what if it just ate your friend.
The last thing I wanted to do when I found these forums was, to fight rats and skeletons in a numbers crunch game. Good thing you guys didnt investigate the kitchen and pantry back in the IOTUS (inn of the unseen servant).
Dont worry, Greyhawk will clean it up. You wont even recognize it when....I mean....if, you return.
