Re: Checking Interest: Crypts & Things for B4: The Lost City
Not that I am playing, but I have a question.
Could a fighter take the shield master and weapon master (in shield), thereby gaining +1 to his and defend, carrying only a shield and use it as a weapon?

Speaking with the full authority of someone who has read about half the pdf:
I don't see shields treated specifically as weapons in the rules. There is a mention that Unarmed Combat includes fists, feet, and dagger pommels. I'd take this to mean improvised weapons. These all do 1d2+STR Mod.
From this, you could either say that it would be more appropriate to take Shield Master and Unarmed Combat
or you could say that you could specialize in Shield as a weapon that does 1d2+STR Mod
or you could decide that the dagger pommel listed for unarmed combat referred to small, one-handed improvised weapons, and that a Shield should do 1d4 dmg., like a club or a sling stone. And that you could get Weapons Mastery for it.
I'm sure G+ is full of people with very intense opinions on how formidable a shield is as a melee weapon. I'd check in with them as to which the above options seemed closest to the mark.

Pulpatoon is correct, we have a forum! It was setup over the weekend. Unfortunately the wife and I were far too busy looking at kitchen remodeling designs for me to be online very long. I will be setting everything up today to get the game rolling. Be prepared to move your character sheets to the new forum.

Let us never stand between a GM and a kitchen remodel.

Oh no! Never stand between my wife and a kitchen remodel. I tried that once. Critical Failure!

Uh-oh. Must have been complications with the kitchen remodel
Hope everything is okay.

They pulled back the old linoleum and found a hellmouth. Happens all the time.

Re: Checking Interest: Crypts & Things for B4: The Lost City
I think there might be a hellmouth lurking in our bathroom. It has been one repair after another since we moved into our house

Still here but this weekend was rough. Today is my mother-in-laws b-day and Wednesday is my father-in-laws b-day. So we all got together Sunday evening to celebrate. What made things tight was Sunday was also my and my son's bi-weekly face-to-face 5e game at my friend's house. So Saturday was spent cleaning our house top to bottom so my wife didn't have to worry about anything except cooking for Sunday dinner.

No worries! The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!

What Pulpatoon said.
My daughter has been home for spring break this week, plus work; it's hard to find time to do "extracurricular" stuff

It ended up working out in the long run, we have Tamerlaine joining us. Tamerlaine you have been made a member. Please post your character to the proper thread. I need to finalize the life events and then we will start.

This right here should be a sub-motto of the board!Pulpatoon wrote:The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
It pinpoints the friendliness of the board with the ease and style of PbP that I like so much!
Thanks!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
