Hey All,

The Dark Side
I was talking to MonkeyWrench awhile back about some of the darker elements in my campaign, and we agreed that it might be a good idea to start and evil side of the campaign. I also spoke to ToniXX about it and he said he could start a private thread inside Dragons Belch and add the appropriate users.

As most of you you probably already know (because apparently I ask what everyone thinks too much; because apparently I'm needy MW said so) that I have several different plot threads/strings going on in this campaign simultaneously. So I think an evil side to the campaign would make things more interesting for you as players.

MW, of course, volunteered to play one of the evil characters (no big surprise there). But before I pull that trigger I want to make sure everyone playing in the game is ok with adding a separate evil thread, that will have its own agenda and goals, and that will ultimately attempt to counter any actions the characters in the normal thread take.

A yea or nay will suffice. I would prefer to have 100% Yea before I implement something like this, as it affects everyone's gameplay (yeah I know MW, I'm needy).

If everyone says yea, then I will move forward with it. If so, I am ok with existing players playing character's on both sides, or even moving to the dark side. Either way I may need to open an LFP post.

The Good Side
If players vote unanimously for the evil thread, then I will most likely open an LFP for a few new players. Ultimately I would like to have 5 players on each side, but am very aware that it might not happen. Either way I will adjust accordingly.

One Nay
If I get one nay then we will proceed as we have been.

Thanks
Antman9 (Marc)

You are needy. This is a good idea. And I don't know if I like the tone you use when you say "MW, of course, volunteered to play one of the evil characters (no big surprise there)."

But yeah.... I vote Yea.

MW,

You know you resemble the remark. Just go ahead and admit it. You know you want to.

Thanks for the quick and honest replies everyone. I very much appreciate them all. We had one "Nay" so we will proceed as before, except at a much better posting rate on my part.

There is currently an NPC inquiry on the table, so I will give you guys a short while to respond and then I will make a Summary post, most likely late this afyernoon or tonight.

Thanks
Antman9

Summary: D&D Tribunal

The naysayer (GreyWolfVT) having voiced opinion, and thus nullifying (in effect voiding) the tabled proposal (British version), the parliamentary floor (MonkeyWrench & Dram) impose immediate sentence, via stone, to the offending vote…..

MonkeyWrench
Stone Size [1d4] = 2
Rock Damage [1d2] = 1
Stone flies wide of target, hits wall.

Dram
Stone Size [1d4] = 3
Rock Damage [1d3] = 1
Stone finds its mark, center mass!

The offending party, having been accused and sentenced via stoning, and thus bruised sufficiently, may interject rebuttal of said offense.

Improvised Weapons
Source: D&D Wiki

Any portable object can be used as a weapon in a pinch. In most cases, an object can be wielded either as a melee weapon or a ranged weapon.

A character takes a –4 penalty on his or her attack roll when wielding or throwing an improvised weapon. An improvised weapon is not considered simple, archaic, or exotic, so weapon proficiency feats cannot offset the –4 penalty.

Table: Improvised Weapon Damage by Size
Object SizeExamplesDamage
DiminutiveAshtray, CD disk case, crystal paperweight1
TinyFist-sized rock, mug, screwdriver, softball, flashlight, wrench1d2
SmallBottle, drill, fire extinguisher, flower pot, helmet, metal hubcap, vase1d3
MediumBar stool, brick, briefcase, bowling ball, garbage can lid, hockey stick, nail gun1d4
LargeEmpty garbage can, guitar, computer monitor, office chair, tire iron1d6
Huge10-foot ladder, mailbox, oil barrel, park bench, sawhorse1d8
GargantuanDesk, dumpster, file cabinet, large sofa, soda machine2d6
ColossalJunked vehicle, stoplight, telephone pole2d8
A character can effectively wield or throw an object of his or her size category or smaller using one hand. A character can effectively wield or throw an object one size category larger than him or herself using two hands. An improvised thrown weapon has a range increment of 10 feet. Increase the range increment for creatures of Large size or larger as follows: Large 15 feet, Huge 30 feet, Gargantuan 60 feet, Colossal 120 feet.

Damage
Improvised weapons deal lethal damage based on their size, although the GM may adjust the damage of an object that is especially light or heavy for its size. The wielder’s Strength modifier applies only to damage from Tiny or larger improvised weapons; do not apply the wielder’s Strength modifier to damage from Diminutive objects. Table: Improvised Weapon Damage by Size gives the damage for improvised weapons of varying size. Improvised weapons threaten a critical hit on a natural roll of 20. Improvised weapons of Fine size deal no damage.

Unlike real weapons, improvised weapons are not designed to absorb damage. They tend to shatter, bend, crumple, or fall apart after a few blows. An improvised weapon has a 50% chance of breaking each time it deals damage or, in the case of thrown objects, strikes a surface (such as a wall) or an object larger than itself.
