'Here! Take Dren!' Yells the Halfling as he jumps back and tries to clamber up the wall ....

Re: Part 4: Second Attempt to Plumb the Barrowmaze
Inside the room:
The lead skeletons continue to advance towards the two of you. Two stop to continue the assault on Marcus's body while one still stands in front of the door to the room from which they arrived. The other two, spurred on by Dren's calling, approach the halfling. Their rictus jaws seemingly smiling as Dren jumps back towards the wall. Their smiles seem to grow wider as nearly slips down off the wall however he is able to hold on at the last second due to the rocky nature of the wall. Suddenly, there is a loud crack against the wall from the opposite side which draws the attention of all the skeletons.
Outside the room:
Mortiganto continues to hammer at the trap wall separating the two groups. Phyrric and Erinar continue to watch the halls though for now, there does not appear to be anything shuffling around.

Clinging to the wall, Dren cries out to the others .... "Marcus is dead, skeletons are chopping him up!", before hanging on for dear life.

Re: Part 4: Second Attempt to Plumb the Barrowmaze
Sorry its been so long since I last posted. I was just looking through the math and realized Marcus is still alive (but barely). He entered the Barrowmaze with a full set of hit points (8). He was only hit twice (5 + 2). Therefore he is still on his feet. We will have to retcon the last couple of actions if Mr. Hemlock is still interested in continuing on. Mr. Hemlock has informed me to move the game along.

Re: Part 4: Second Attempt to Plumb the Barrowmaze
Seeing the skeletons ready themselves, Dren shouts a warning to the others that the skeleton mass to attack.
His limbs beginning to shake with the exertion, Dren prepares to run to the other side of the room should he fall.

The hole is large enough for someone to enter or Dren to leave, however any human sized being would have to duck down to pass through.

"Dren! Can you grab Marcus and get out?"
Re: Part 4: Second Attempt to Plumb the Barrowmaze
"Dren can escape, but Marcus is beyond my help" yells the Halfling as he drops from the wall and bolts for the opening, hoping to act before the skeletons are aware.

Re: Part 4: Second Attempt to Plumb the Barrowmaze
After Dren passes through the opening, Erinar holds out his holy symbol in an effort to turn the skeletons. "In the name of Pelor I command you, BACK FOUL CREATURES!!!"
Turn Undead:[2d6] = 2;HD Turned:[2d6] = 8
... but clearly, Pelor is not pleased with Erinar.

Re: Part 4: Second Attempt to Plumb the Barrowmaze
Dren drops down and bolts for the hole while Erinar attempts to rebuke the skeletons. Focused on the priest, Dren is able to get through the hole without incident however the skeletons obviously are not phased by the admonishments of the priests. As if spurned on by his attempts, the front skeleton approaches the hole in the wall, crouching down to move through the wall and into the corridor with you.

Pyrrhic draws his spear and positions himself near the opening, ready to destroy skeletons when the come out.
"Is there any way to plug this hole up?" he asks his companions.

Dren drops back to a safe distance, panting with relief at having been rescued. Slowly he unslings his crossbow as the feeling begins to come back into his fingertips. "Marcus is dead, and these creatures must pay"
Cranking the crossbow and fumbling a bolt into place, Dren looks for an opportunity to fire, then looses his shot, willing it with every ounce of venom to obliterate it's target.

Re: Part 4: Second Attempt to Plumb the Barrowmaze
As the skeleton crouches down to enter the hole, Dren lets loose with his crossbow. The bolt passes through the creature's exposed rib cage and severs the spinal column. In two seperate pieces the skeleton drops to the ground. Unconcerned with it's final demise the remaining skeletons attempt to push through.

Re: Part 4: Second Attempt to Plumb the Barrowmaze
Pyrrhic jabs into the hole with his spear, hoping to hit anything that might be coming out.
To hit with Spear: [1d20+1] = 12+1 = 13, damage: [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2

Re: Part 4: Second Attempt to Plumb the Barrowmaze
Pyrrhic jabs the spear into the skeleton's rib cage landing a glancing blow. The skeleton seizes the opportunity and grabs hold of the spear's haft and pushes Pyrrhic back. This gives another skeleton the chance to move through the gap in the wall.
