OOC: yeah, last time he was on the boards officially was when he last posted here on Nov 1.

Wolf: Not sure how you want to handle this encounter but I'm okay with you NPCing Osric in the interim until we can get another player.

OK Sorry I was away on business the past week.

Seeing the thing hungrily rush the party Osric raises his holy symbol

Begone vile thing
1d20=7

The action seems to draw the things attention as it barrels towards the cleric.

Scy, Serg, and vik strike at the creature but their weapons bounce harmlessly off it's petrified skin.

1d20=8

The thing of nightmares crashes into the big cleric a tornado of claws and broken teeth

Osrics great strength allows him to absorb the rush without knocking him to the ground
1d20=4

The creatures claws fail to penetrate osrics ring mail, but its mouth clamps down on the priest eliciting a cry of pain

It burns!

1d20=13
1d20=15
damage - 2d4+1=6

As the creatures teeth sink in osrics eyes roll back into his head and he begins to convulse

saving throw
1d20=8

Seeing his meat ploy fail miserably, Tub quickly draws short sword and dagger and attacks at the first opportunity!

Let me know if I should roll now wp or wait until next round.

"Kill it!" Cilian cries out, swinging at it with his staff.

To Hit, Staff [1d20-1] = 7-1 = 6

Here are Tub's rolls, if needed this round, dual wielding with the S Sword and Dagger:

Short sword, damage s-m [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7, large [1d8+1] = 6+1 = 7, to hit [1d20] = 20
NICE!

Dagger damage [1d4+1] = 3+1 = 4 to hit [1d20] = 8
Meh.

"OS?! NO!!" Viktor screams, eyes wide in both dread and fury at their childhood friend being savaged by the undead menace right in front of them. Fear and adrenaline slap the young churl across the face and into action when he hears Cilian cry out to kill it, and he hacks at it desperately...

To Hit: short sword [1d20] = 10 (+2) 12 (hits AC8), Damage vs small/medium creatures [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4

Scy swings his sword down on the back of the monster:

To Hit [1d20+1] = 12+1 = 13

Damage (longsword, +1 Str) [1d8+1] = 1+1 = 2

serg stabs at the creature with his spear and strikes it in the side
[1d20] = 13 +2 =15

damage - [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3

scy runs the edge of his blade along the creatures back laying open it's petrified flesh.

the creatures seems to ignore all this as in lunges itself back at Osrics neck when Tub's short sword streaks forward striking the thing in the neck and its head goes flying. (double damage natural 20)

the things hreadless body collapses on a still convulsing Osric as black gore pours from its neck.

Cilian grabs one of the potions of healing and rushes to Osric's side, uncorks it, and pours a dose of the potion down his mouth.

Tub throws up a little in his mouth at the sight of the gore, then he regains his composure.
Getting the blue powder ready, he waits and sees how Cil does with the healing potion before using the powder.
I guess the turn undead thing didn't work.

Viktor closes his eyes to flush the terrible images of his childhood friend lying there bloody and savaged before them. He blinks a few times in vain, and eventually has to avert his gaze as his stomach tries to do a I'm gonna be sick backflip.

The young churl thankfully does not hurl and continues to grip his short sword and shield with shaky white knuckles of dread. He also holds his breath in the superstitious hope that somehow doing so might actually make a difference in the fate of their longtime friend and only clerical companion.

His visage becomes red and then purple as he watches in held-breath, frozen anticipation whilst Cilian pours a swig of the healing potion down Osric's mangled throat...

Viktor's eyes become watery with disbelief. He looks to Cilian with a last shred of false hope.

"Is he... is he... gonna make it, Cil?"
