Re: OOC
minotaurs are supposed to be strong not charismatic or super smart.

Yeah, and who needs charisma when you've got ladies man and renaissance man Gort as your BFF? Charisma is overrated.GreyWolfVT wrote:minotaurs are supposed to be strong not charismatic or super smart.

Hey All,
I will be traveling for most of the day today. I added the Cleric class to the Race/Class thread last night. Sol, you might want to take a look at it, I retooled it a bit.
Just an FYI for everyone: If any of you prefer the standard Race/Class descriptions and abilities from any of the standard OD&D or AD&D sources, you are more than welcome to use those as apposed to mine. Your choice, I won't hold anything against you. Promise.
I will be completing the LizardFolk, Psionics, and several other items this weekend. Near the beginning of next week we should be ready to get this party started.
Whoohooo!

Hey All,
OK, finally got the Psion Class finished, whew! That was a booger to complete. I may make a few adjustments along the way as well.
ArtoriasAbyssWalker, give it a look see and let me know if it meets your expectations.
Thanks
Marc

Re: OOC
Thanks, Wolf. I was pleased to find an image of a spellcasting Lizard Man that looked cool instead of all "Crazy Shamin"-ish.

Re: OOC
No problem, thanks for your patience. I'm finishing it up right now, then I'll have the updated version posted and ready to go.

Re: OOC
Good Morning All,
A few adjustments are in order for your character sheets:
Elktran
AC should be "9"
Change Knife to "Knife", Simple with a damage of "2"
Zirrus
Change Knife to "Knife", Simple with a damage of "2"
Add the "Powers" and their PSP requirements and maintenance once you have chosen them (sent you a PM)
Gort
AC = 11 (update the AC field on the first tab)
Keehnelf
Everything looks good
Seeker
HP should equal 10
Gorthak
Lucern Hammer does 2d6 damage (Knight uses weapons one size larger than their size)
Make sure to note your attack and damage bonus of +3 to your weapon)
Add your armor to Inventory: AC = 9 (+/-) DEX Modifier (+/-) Armor Bonus
Add the modifiers to your abilities:
STR: +3
INT: -1
WIS: 0
DEX: +1
CON: +2
CHR: -1
And as usual, if you have any questions or comments please feel free to shout.

Fixed.
Looks like I forgot to change the HP after changing the character for this campaign.

Re: OOC
confusion how can i even afford armor with only 50 copper? Also how would i know what edition to add modifiers from...? I don't see them in your core rules... Also if i am supposed to use a weapon larger than i am i am large so yeah doesn't get any larger than large weapons. I'm lost as to what stats to use on weapons and armor as i used 2e and you are correcting my weapon damage to i have no idea what version.Gorthak

Re: OOC
General PBP Etiquette
(I will be following this post up with details for posting specifics)
When posting in the forum it is important to format your text in a prose format. This is typically done from the third person point of view. You should use the “Dialog” button to highlight our character’s speech. Your post should be distinct, precise, and easy to read. Do your best not to post one-liners such as: “Joe the fighter whacks the Orc” Although this gets your point across it is considerably dull and far less entertaining. Try to weave in some narrative, have fun with it. Try not to post character thoughts very often, but when you do highlight them in italics.
i.e.
Crowfoot furrowed his brow and stroked his rusty beard. "Has anyone heard of this wizard before? I’m not sure we can trust him."
or
Grimtooth lunged at the charging Orc, swung his mighty longsword, and shouted, “Die, spawn from hell!”
OOC posts, those that apply to non-dialog actions between other players and the DM, information, or questions should be posted in RED text, you should use the "OOC" button for these posts, and it is alright to make OOC posts within you regular character post as well. Try not to post material that does not contribute to the game. If you want to chat with a friend or another player use the Chat Forum so the game doesn’t get confusing or bogged down with too much text. Posts not pertaining to actual game play make it difficult for everyone to follow the game thread.
Try to stay in character as much as possible. This allows everyone to follow the game thread easily and makes the game much more enjoyable for everyone.
One last note: Proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation are important but not necessary. As long as you get your point across I won’t say anything. Run-on sentences and poor grammar can make it difficult sometimes for everyone to follow. Unusual speech patterns and accents are ok from time to time. Just try to keep them at a minimum. If your character talks like a pirate, in pirate lingo, all the time, many players may find it hard to follow. Use those elements at key times to enhance the game. Using a text editor such as Word before you make your final post will eliminate a good portion of mistakes.
Just like regular tabletop RPG’s combat and regular play is conducted in turn sequences. The DM “Shows” the characters the environment and they react. Once the DM has made his post or posts, the players will then post their actions, comments, or details. Once each character has had their turn the DM will respond accordingly (try not to get ahead of the other players, please wait for them to make their posts. If they are taking longer than you like, feel free to send them a private message outside of the forum). When in combat be sure to post your attack and damage rolls with your actions (as seen above). Yes both the attack and damage rolls, this helps move the game along. You won’t know whether you hit or not until the DM has made his response(s). The same holds true for saving throws/checks. If you think you might need to make a saving throw or ability check go ahead and post your roll along with any modifiers such as: STR [your roll]+[your bonus]. If you are unsure what to do or how to do something feel free to make an OOC post in RED text. It’s better to KNOW what you need to do rather than clutter the thread with a bunch of back and forth contradicting posts that someone might miss. If all else fails keep it simple or PM the DM.
Play By Post (PBP) gaming may seem strange at first, but once you get the hang of it I think you will enjoy it. The PBP format allows you to be more creative than you might be setting at a table. You can take a little extra time to consider your actions and post colorful exciting details of your character’s actions. Have fun with it. I know I will. And for peat’s sake get rid of the damn box, I hate that thing.
