I'm not so much into the embellishing part so I'll pass that up.

There is one tall tale about a lost city lying in the seabed under the whirpool. As the story goes this city would have been home to a very old human lineage, scholarly folk who were solely concerned with occult studies and philosophical inquiries. Their libraries contained more knowledge than all other places of knowledge in the world put together, some of it being acquired from alien sources. One day some of their researchers started performing a ritual that would open a door to another reality, bringing in an entity that would bring ruin to the world. Just as the ritual was concluded and the gate was opened, the old gods banished the city to the bottom of the sea, creating the whirpool on top of the gate in order to keep the doomsday beast from crossing over. The citizens that didn't perish were cursed, turning into merfolk and other types of sea monsters.GreyWolfVT wrote:[1d8] = 8 Otherworld (South - Far - Heard About)
Whirlpool In the Sea there is a whirlpool that is said to contain a pathway to another world of strange fish people some claim it just takes you to a world under the sea similar to tales told of a lost city by most sailors called Alantis. This otherworld has not been named as of yet but many sailors tell tales of seeing the strange whirlpool when out at sea either fishing too far south or just travelling and seeing ships vanish. There is a tale of a man that went over and somehow managed to return. He told tales of fish like people that had a city under the water. Others say he is insane from too much exposure to the sea. Abel heard of this tale when some of the sea fishermen decided to leave deep sea fishing along and move to Herebury to do some fresh water fishing in the river.
