Ingulfr

Ingulfr signals Ulfr to move up and finish the gnolls while he keeps his eyes open for any other development.

Sheets updated, thanks.

Hektor and Tulius

"Wait - we should at least capture one for interrogation" - Hektor pointed out - "Agreed?"

If agreed he wants to securely tie and gag one of them, and drag him out of sight.
We'll also search all of them of course :P

Agreed, says Iacchus.

Martin helps in this endeavor ;)
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

The group slays two of the gnolls, and ties up the third. They manage to do so without waking the creature.

The group finds 18 electrum pieces, and 10 gold pieces combined on the three gnolls. Their just wearing standard tunics, and their weapons are bogstandard, reasonably well maintained halberds.

Right as they finish tying, they hear a shuffle and scraping above, and see two gnolls emerge from the palisade and flee down the opposite side of the hill.

Hektor anbd Tulius

"Let's go!" - Hektor took off up the hill toward the palisade, Tulius in tow - "Randall, keep watch over our prisoner"

"No problem," says Randall, keeping a close eye on the slumbering gnoll.

Hektor and Tulius charge up the hill. But they are wearing heavier armor, and charging up a hill, while the gnolls are wearing leather or gambesons at best, and are running down the hill. The gnolls have reached the bottom and are well on their way south towards another even taller hill by the time the two warriors reach the palisade.

They find Anker poking around inside the abandoned palisade. There are some mangy blankets, some smoked strips of jerky, some stones for throwing, and not a whole lot else.

Anker looks up and shakes his head. "Nothing interesting up here. Sorry I didn't come down to help, but you guys looked like you had it covered, the gnolls didn't seem to see me, and I didn't want to risk blowing my cover. Figured it'd be better off for me to wait up here, and watch."

Hektor and Tulius

"Each day this palisade is not manned by gnolls, is a day the region is safer, so this is a win" - Hektor congratulated the others - "You did well Anker" - he added.

"We can try to interrogate the other gnoll, but I am not expecting much cooperation"

@archolewa: Is the pallisade a simple wall on top of the hill, or does it have a gate which can be closed, etc?
Once we have a chance, Hektor will want to try and interrogate the captured gnoll.

The palisade is a simple wall, with one crude overhang for the gnolls to hunker under during inclement weather.

The trio return to the others. A sharp slap from Hektor brings the captured, bound gnoll wide awake again.

The beast draws his lips back and snarls at Hektor when it sees Hektor's holy symbol. "Just kill me now, patsy of a patsy of a patsy of the moon. You will get nothing from me."

Hektor and Tulius

"Brave words, but stupid" - Hektor nodded - "What we have to offer is simple - respond to our questions in truth, and we will consider alternatives to a summary execution" - he looked at the group around him - "We will return you to the closest settlement and inform you have cooperated, or we may even consider letting you go" - he let his words sink in.

"Now... Where do you come from? Do you have a tribe or clan?"

Come on Charisma 17! My only saving grace :D

Rolling a d20 under Charisma 17 with a 4 point penalty, because this guy really has no reason to believe a paladin of Muir of all people. 1d20+4 = 23 > 17

The gnoll laughs a harsh, barking laugh. "Oh yes. Drop me off at the Ferry so that they can hang me. Throw me into the wilderness to be food for Yorgala, send me back to my pack so you can follow me. No. I am as dead as my companions, patsy of a patsy. So just strike me down, so that I may go to the great Orcus in glory."

Martin stays near the paladin and gnoll.

Iacchus will likely just keep a lookout between here and the gnoll camp.

Hektor and Tulius

Yay Charisma!

"Fair enough" - Hektor gagged the gnoll and double checked the ropes securing him - "Let's take him back to Zelkor's Ferry - he should face justice for banditry" - he commented to the others.

Supposedly we had only traveled for a few miles so far.

@archolewa: Unless someone openly opposes it (which does not seem to be the case), the plan is to take the gnoll back to the Zelkor's Ferry barracks.

As Hektor hoists the gnoll to its feet, the creature suddenly tries to kick him in the chest Saving throw vs death, paralysis, poison: 1d20 >= 11 -> 15 >= 11. The creature's foot strikes Hektor's breastplate, but the paladin is able to maintain his feet, and his grip.

The gnoll snaps and thrashes like a madman, snarling, snapping his jaws at anybody close, and trying to break free. "If you think I'm going to let you drag me off to be hanged, you're a coward and a fool, patsy!"

Hektor and Tulius

Hektor had gagged the gnoll ;)

"You had options" - Hektor calmly replied - "But you decided on bravado and unrepentance" - he added - "It was your choice. And choices have consequences"

Bringing out the Paladin :D

Want to take him down, and tie him more securely, maybe limiting the leg movement. The gag goes back on. And then off we go.
