Hex agrees with Garrant. Preparing more effective magicks to aid us in combating the mind flayers seems wise. Thank you for your generous supplies. How many trolls are in the side caverns, do you know? the gnome asks conversationally.
Raffi busy’s himself with looking over the supplies, and seeing if there are any more arrows for his new bow.

"Gavin, it appears we will have guests tonight. I believe you reported the repairs on number three face side have been completed. There are three bedrooms there and the common area and the deck for anyone that wants a higher ceiling. Please get four beds in place. We only have beds for the shorter folk, but those will fill up two of the rooms. That leaves the roughing it for the rest of you. The unit is only two doors down from Molly's. Please take the food and magical items. Please come back to this chamber for dinner tonight."
Please post whom is taking what and if there are rope, torches and oil needs the total amount being requested.
"I am not sure the exact size of the two troll bands, but at least 10 to a side."

Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Androgost will take 3 weeks of rations to carry (more if needed) and will leave the potions to the others (I already have some healing potions remaining).
Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Hex thanks the dwarves for their hospitality. Do you have any clear gems worth around 10 golds I could purchase? Or any mithril plates at all? He will snaffle an extra healing potion and take Raffi and head to bed.
The halfling eyes one of the anti-charm brooches but doesn’t take one.
Before turning in, Hex will review his spells and try and plan for these encounters as wisely as he can with his limited supply of magic.

Garrant thanks the dwarves for their hospitality and the potions. He thinks it wise to divide the potions and charms amongst the party. He is happy to take a potion of x-healing and a charm.
When Androgost talks about carrying so many rations, he says "My extra-dimensional bag has quite a bit of space in it. It would be far more logical to store our food in there, these tunnels might be difficult to traverse if heavily loaded. However, it would be a good idea if we did carry one or two days rations on our persons, just in case."
After discussing with gurusql, there is space for 9 man-weeks of standard rations, which is 180lbs.

Siouxsie
She will devote her time to her Druidic spellcraft, gathering what she can of mistletoe, lichens, cave weeds and whatnot spell compounds. Once prepared she is ready to go on the Ithillid hunt.
She doesn't press the point if the dragon is not an issue to the mystery.I do not know how a dragon could be the cause. What evidence do you have to support this statement? If you tell me what you know, perhaps I could pray for sometime on the topic?"

In the Jotens - Dwarven Dinner
Sunday, 16th day of Planting, 597
11th day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 60/63)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 62/65, Armor 26/26)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 53/53)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 48/48)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 47/50)
Hex (AC 0, HP 26/27, Armor 8/8)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8)
Boff (AC 5, HP 59/61)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Looking to move this forward
I have
There was a request for torches, oil, and rope, the ask from the dwarves was how much and we will see what we can do - Looking for Androgost or failing that someone else to reply or the matter will be dropped.
The quarters are as advertised, a "building" much like Molly's without the bar, perhaps someone's home that is not there for some reason? The group will be able to hang out at Molly's and the space given to them. Siouxsie is able to talk to some of the dwarven women tending to the garden and can find deep black colored cave berries that she could use Goodberry if she wishes.
The dinner has the center piece being some kind of gamey "chicken" (but obvious this animal was much larger) and a variety of vegetables from the garden. Everyone is very excited that the group will be moving against these mind flayers.
I welcome additional things that people are looking to accomplish, spells that will be cast today, and/or conversations that you want to have.
I will be moving you to the morning of the 17th on Sunday evening Pacific time zone.

I have
- Androgost suggesting that he carry 60 lbs of food, but assume you will go with Garrant carrying the 9 weeks of standard rations in his magic bag
- Everyone else should take a week of iron rations and record on sheet
- Garrant and Hex each taking an extra-healing potion
- Both Healing potions are still unclaimed - I will suggest Qleceec and Nah Olos
- Garrant taking one of the Roots of Anti-Charm with the other is unclaimed at this point - Perhaps Frannie should take this to reverse any charm that happens?
- Who is taking the map?

Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Garrant loads his magic bag up with food.
"We should have a lantern for least for every other person I think, ideally one that can be hooded. And we are going to need light for at lest eight hours of travelling each day. I heard talk amongst us of continual light items? How many do we have, they might be useful at night, placed in a shuttered lantern. Of course, I could help make some more, but that will use up valuable spells."
He will ask the dwarves if they have a small backpack or a satchel that might fit him.

Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Androgost is grateful for the magical sack to hold so much food! “I was thinking 3-4 oil flasks per lantern and some torches as a back up. Several lengths of ropes is ideal if we don’t have already to navigate an unknown land.”
Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Both Hexalon and Raffi have a continual light object they can utilise.
Hex gathers the other spell casters together before bed.
How do you guys and gals think we should maximise our magic. I think spells that can enhance our resistance to attacks (saves and attack chances) and enhancement of the warrior’s damage would be good, given our own spells will be shrugged off by the mind flayers. There may be other ways to attack them though. Summoned animals and bewitched monsters we could send at them might also help. Something like binding the trolls to our will might work if we can. We need to make sure we keep ourselves from bunching up as well, so that these creatures cannot strike at us all at the same time. Oil snuck into their midst and lit beneath them could also work potentially.

There was a request for clear gems and mithril plates that I forgot to answer, the dwarves cannot help with this.
A few additional pieces of information.
In terms of "permanent" light sources
Not counting Boffs lantern, there are three other lanterns in the group
The dwarves can supply:
A few additional pieces of information.
In terms of "permanent" light sources
- Everyone saw that Boff has a lantern with continual light back in Loftwick
- Most of the fighters have magical weapons that can glow if desired
Not counting Boffs lantern, there are three other lanterns in the group
The dwarves can supply:
- pieces of rock with melted aluminum around the rock and continual light cast on it (x2)
- 6 coils of 50' rope

- 12 torches

The Highway - Leaving the dwarven compound
Moonday, 17th day of Planting, 597
12th day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 62/63)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 64/65, Armor 26/26)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 53/53)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 48/48)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 49/50)
Hex (AC 0, HP 27/27, Armor 8/8)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8)
Boff (AC 5, HP 61/61)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Brak (AC 6, HP 8/8)
Hutdrok (AC 6, HP 9/9)
Goverlun (AC 5, HP 14/14)
I am assuming that the party did not want any of the rope, torches or oil after all given the general lack of interest. If this is incorrect please include in your next post.
The party is able to rest up the afternoon of Sunday (although no sun down here) and then join the dwarven leadership for the feast. After the meal everyone is given a drink from Molly's which appears to be the only distillery in the town. Everyone gets a good rest (2 HP added if still less than max) that evening.
In the morning, everyone gets an early start and there are three dwarven scouts waiting for you by the exit. The scouts are named Brak, Hutdrok and lead by Goverlun. They are all dressed in dark leather armor and carry short swords and light crossbows with a quiver of a dozen bolts each. Each is also wearing a backpack. Goverlun notes that they do not travel normally with so much light and heavily armored folks and they recommend that they will keep the party on the path from the rear. The highway is mostly 10-12' wide so the party can travel single or double file as you wish. (I have keep the same order as outside, but you are welcome to change this if you desire)
If there were spells that you wanted to cast last night or before leaving in the morning be sure to include those before my next post and I assume that you have "reset" your spell mix, if this is not true please get it done before my next post and please send me a PM noting the change.
The group funnels out the narrow corridor and immediately turns left onto the Highway.
I will pause about 48 hours or until everyone post they are clear to go.
