"Yes, let us watch, observe, learn and not participate - but keep the feet moving as I would recommend that we do it so that the battle does not cut off our approach to the Keep."

He gazes wide eyed at the massive plated beast in the distance. "Pimlan, I believe the word you're searching for is bypass. Based on that figure's attire though, perhaps it is a pet?"

"No attack, prepare and observe. Move if need be."
Fixed typo.

Unable to influence the situation in the distance the cleric watches with a concerned look on his face.
"Perhaps if we all shouted at once the person approaching the creature might hear us? Although I also wonder if they are connected in some fashion."

Pimlan shakes his head
"Nope, I meant find away to go around it. You know like a circle, or rather half of one so a curve. What's a bypass? Some sort of big road for two-way traffic?"

"I meant more specifically to circumvent the beast by keeping to the road, although a wider arc would be safer, if significantly slower. I wouldn't go knocking down houses in this case though, so to speak."

Magdal
Magdal found it hard to keep up with the constant chatter of Pimlan though she did apologize for her mother getting him fired. Though perhaps it was his inability to focus on one thing that used her as an instrument of his unemployment. Talk of a man called Mouse and a mouse called Man, only caused her more confusion, so she said nothing and smiled benignly. Until she caught sight of the creature and the man (?) who path it would intersect with. She doubted her bow would be much use against such armor so she could only watch the results of the meeting of the two. She was prepared to cover her eyes when that was to occur.

Pimlan laughs
"I'm way too small to be knocking down much of anything, be easier for me to crawl through or under em."

Dredd
When the one known as Thirteen comes by with a plate, Dredd shoves it out of his way. "Am I supposed to take one of yer coins? If not, get that shit away from me."
And then the sight of another she knew she had seen about town. She turned to Dredd and says, "You probably don't remember me, but I remember you," she grins. "You were in my ma's inn once and I saw you nearly break Gart Duble's hand when he got fresh with my half-sister Sadra. He wasn't so quick the pinch the rears of my sisters when they tending bar after that, I can tell you. My name is Magdal Haldeene." She looks at the crowd and then at the great stone structure, her eyes wide and filled with wonder.
Very nervous about this encounter, Dredd flushes with some embarrassment and then mutters,
"Gart was, well, he was a bad person. I am Jor...Dredd. Most people know me as...Dredd."
He sighs and looks around for something to take his mind off what is happening with Magdal, and spies the small fellow approaching the beast in the field. He gauges the distance and realizes, with the rest of his traveling companions, they can't possibly intervene in time. Still...
He reaches behind his head and pulls a javelin from his quiver.

Arrival Day
Late Afternoon
Mostly Sunny
From the safety of the road, the group watches in horror as the smaller figure doesn’t stop heading towards the trees. Thirteen Twojaws sling stone lands about 450 yards short of the mark.
Just as the grey behemoth starts to charge the smaller figure, trampling right up next to it, the humanoid simply stops moving. It holds one empty hand up to the monster, as if to calm the mighty beast, and the horror just points its bullet-like head towards the ground, in complete submission. They appear to stay like that for a few moments before the smaller figure with the seashell on its back heads into the tree line, and the monster goes back to prowling the fields, as if nothing ever happened.
Up ahead on the path, the caravan disappears up the North Road, while a couple wagons that did stop are currently being let inside the Keep’s front gates, still several hundred feet up the road from you. From your position, it is obvious that nobody at the gate saw the confrontation in the field.

"Clear."
Rida will unload/de-cock his crossbow, sling it and pick up his halbred. Then move along with everyone to the keep.

Crobeus - Human Paladin
"Well. That was not what I expected." With a shrug of his shoulders the paladin begins walking toward the keep, assuming everyone else will head that way as well.

He follows Crobeus towards the keep.

Thirteen Twojaws.
"He must be The Tortle Whisperer."
He tries to identify the strange beast tamer. Once gone from sight he hoists his gear.
"The Keep, the Chapel and tavern await."

[B/] Keta[/b]
After running 100 yards and seeing the interchange, he turns back to intersect the troop farther up the road.
He slows when he gets there and drinks more water.

Crabgrass
"I would be interested in any Mage tower, spell library, arcane laboratory and such like that exists here.
We know a few common spells between us, but what of other higher mystic powers and greater wizardry."
He asks the group about any rumours regarding magic specifically. Does the Keep have an official grand- wizard or sorceror. He wonders about obtaining certain spell components, like pearls for Identify and such like.
"That is an art I learned. To Identify enchanted radiances and traits of objects. If folk find things and will invest in my craft, I can help you out by discerning what is common and what may be magic imbued."

Gyb
"One the Mystic, the other the Mastic?" wonders the raggedy wanderer. "Maybe to one of the hidden castles he goes?"
Gyb turns his attention to the Keep. "Much smaller than I remember. Or maybe much bigger." He shrugs. "I can't remember"
"No wizard that I saw", Gyb tells Crabgrass. "Or none saw fit to turn me into a frog at least! Just soldiers there".

Magdal
"Pleased to meet you Dredd," the young ranger grins, two friends already she thinks. "Twas a kind thing you did and Sadra and I never forgot it." She turns her attention to what she assumed would be an altercation with the strange creature and stares in surprise at the actual outcome. There was no end of wonders here it seems. She gathers with the others and starts toward the keep, her meager belongings in tow.

Sylla returns to her conversations once the strange scene with the beast and the seashell being has been played out. While talking, she keeps up with the rest of the group moving towards the keep.

"... My brother came to these caves many years ago and told me of some caves that may be a better use of our time. Perhaps you would like to join me in the exploration of the same.
"I might very well be. What more do you know about these caves? I hear that all sorts of wicked creatures have made a habit out of nesting there."

Gyb
Gyb's jaw drops at being addressed by Sylla.
"Well...er... Gyb I am, yes. I was here but then I was a boy, a man barely."
"I rode the wagons delivering the Saltstone. All over the land. Gyb remembers bits and pieces only. Strange it might seem to bring much 'stone to a place like this. But all the brave men and women here fetch so much treasure from the caves, they want only the very best. And of course, the lord of the Keep has only the best for himself. Why not? Gyb would want that too, if Gyb was lord of such a fine place".
"Yes Gyb, I see what you mean. It must have been exciting times. Who knows, perhaps you will be a lord one day, right? If that is what you wish. Tell me Gyb, do you have any recollection of a hermit of sorts, quite mad from what I've heard, living north of this keep? I doubt he had any stone delivered to him, but I hear he was quite well known around here, at the time."
