I love all the great RP here, but we eventually need to agree on some of these details if you want to get moving again.

Drest

"How about we just go and show you, then we can decide if we need to tell someone later."

Kainaxarthos

"Sounds like a plan. I'm sure we can figure out a way to get paid after. How far away is it anyway?"

Xenos

"It is less than a days travel, but we've purchased a weeks rations and extra waterskins so we can stay longer than we did originally. Apart from being injured we also ran out of food on our first trip."

Ceana

Cyril - "I mean if you have no other food..."
The Kelt gives him a frown and simply says. "No."

To meeting the Satrap, she says, "Some of you can go if you wish. I'm going to replenish my rations and water. Otherwise, I'm ready to depart to the ruins when the group is ready."

Akhilleus nods at Belloc when he introduces himself and tells him his name.

The warrior has remained silent for a while, thinking of the best course of action, in his opinion.

He addresses Cyril first. "Cyril, it would be better if you don't use that amulet other than when it's strictly necessary. It seems that the transformation wasn't as good as the first time. Their power might wear off after much use, I would say. The same happened to Xenos."

To all: "Regarding the slaves. I've been a member of a mercenary warband my whole life. We made war and, yes, sometimes we sold the prisoners as slaves, specially Kimmero-kelts, since many in my homeland would contract us to fight against them." He looks at his Ixian friend.

"The thing is, I don't have any desire to bring runaways back to their lords. The conditions of the slaves here seem to be much much worse than back where I come from. Besides, Xenos does want to help them and I've fought at his side for a while now, so I will help them too.

Because of this I think, the longer we keep the things going on in that fortress secret from the authorities, the better. I fear that if we make the satrap turn his attention to the place he will eventually know about the places the runaway slaves are hiding. I understand bringing snake men heads will be profitable, but let's investigate by ourselves first and see what happens. Something tells me there's enough treasure in that place to make taking the risk worthwhile.

Let's us rest for the night and get moving early tomorrow."

Sorry it took me so long to answer. Pretty busy.

Edit: I had typed Belloc's name incorrectly.

Taibhse

"Wait little one, with you I'll go as I too need rations.

Turning then to Akhillus, "I agree lets go for the treasure and not bring the government down upon us. If there's not treasure then we will have a stronghold."

Belloc follows Taibshe and Ceana to update their rations supply and get ready to depart as soon as able

Xenos nods at Akhilleus

"The amulets do appear to be limited in how long they work each day, and how many difference likenesses you can take, and the quality of those likenesses. As for the slaves, it's not that I want to actively help them, but I don't want to make their miserable lives any worse by returning them to their masters. I've never seen slaves in such a terrible state, either."

"So we go as a larger group party then. Great. So we rest here tonight and leave in the morning?"

I might have lost track of time of day but I thought it was still afternoon/evening

I was trying to be flexible on time so it made sense with everyone being together, so it is actually already evening at the moment.

Anyone wishing to add simple items can purchase them at double book price and add them to your sheets without the need for an encounter.

Specific things like anti-venom would need to be played out, like we did with the fish man earlier.

hedgeknight wrote: Thu Aug 10, 2023 3:09 pm Ceana will buy another week's worth of rations and another water skin.
Is there anti-venom to be found? If so, she will purchase another vial of that...assuming she has any coin left.
;)

Early Morning
The Brothel Next Door

The next day, the party of eight rise and gather as the first orange rays of a bloated Helios appear upon the dusty horizon. Well provisioned and with a much larger group of talent, Xenos takes stock in the newest recruits, making sure everyone is ready for a several hour trek through the dry Zakath Desert.

Any Actions before you depart?

I get the stats below directly from your sheets. If your sheet isn’t updated, your stats likely aren’t either. If you haven’t done so yet, please get your sheet up to date! If you have, thank you.

Xenos (DS3) AC5 17/17
Drest (Sc4) AC7 22/22
Kainaxarthos (C2) AC6 8/8?
Cyril (Pr2) AC8 7/7
Ceana (D2) AC5 13/13
Akhilleus (F3) AC4 32/32
Taibhse (Sh1) AC7 7/7
Belloc (M1) AC6 9/9

Drest

Drest looks good.

Drest leads the way.

Akhilleus

The bearded warrior closes his eyes and lets Helios caress his skin with his rays while he murmurs a prayer to the great sun god.
He then follows Drest.

Also fine.

Xenos

Prior to departure Xenos will discuss the route with Drest and Sik, as Sik might know a better way than the one they returned by.

Xenos's sheet is good, spells checked and OK.

Taibhse

Taibhse is ready to go. He would make sure if anyone needed healing he has a prayer and ointments that can heal (this is a daily thing so please step up).

If anyone avails themselves he will seat them anoint them and with pipe and chanting work his healing magic.

Ceana

The druid follows along somewhere in the middle of her companions, ready to put her visions to rest.

Character sheet is good to go.

Kainaxarthos

"So how did you come to find this fortress? Don't tell me you were wandering in the desert?"

Kain will walk along Ceana, uninterested in bringing up the rear, and unable to lead the way.

As uncomfortable as it makes him, Cyril feels an obligation to travel toward the front of the march being one of the few who have previously been to the fortress.

"I believe, like most adventures of this sort, it started with a rumor...a rumor of a fortress in the desert. Surprisingly it was not difficult to find, if you know where to look.

Also, if in our travels you should see a boulder perched on the top of a dune, do not stand below it on the dune. It will roll over you."
