Thena

Looking up at her new found target in plate, Thena brings Rover around for an attempted strike.

Mave

"BAH!" she curses and she accidentally collapses the tent entrance. She shoulders her bow and draws her rapier. Moving quickly to the tent she intends to cut a new entrance and assist Wilwarin if needed.

Wilwayaisawén

Since the girl doesn’t understand Elven Wilwarin tries common:

Watch my back, the woman might return.

Tempting though it is to answer the newcomer’s taunt with a direct riposte, Wilwarin maintains her focus on the dwarf – “finish what you start, before beginning a new project”, as her tutor said.

As the rain pours, Vari scrambles having lost her bow and attempting to pull her short sword, but Zedamande is quick and agile and strikes like a viper his elegantly decorated short sword rips across her side and she cries out in pain. With a flick of his wrist the elf sends Vari's blood flying from his sword into the falling rain, as he poises for his next attack.

Thena and Bryne both strike at the woman in plate and Thena misses while Bryne gets but a glancing blow. The woman strikes back with her battleaxe but is unable to get past the defenses of either woman.

Not far from them, Torvik wields Durvan's sword against the man holding the spiked hammer but the man is lightly armored and manages to evade his attack though his strike of the hammer at the dwarf also misses. Out of the corner of his eyes, Torvik sees Kade has risen and has retrieved his sword and just in time as two new men enter the fray. Kade thrusts his sword at the dark-haired man who found his way out of the darkness spell and deals a wicked cut to the man who's feeble attack completely misses Kade. Ruskin is unable to flank the man with spiked hammer because the redhaired man who emerged from the Darkness spell now engages him, spitting out his pipe. Ruskin strikes out with his dagger but unfortunately misses the new opponent. The redhaired man is powerfully built and swings his sword sword with grim determination hitting Ruskin a hard blow. As the redhaired man hits he calls out loudly, "JIV LISTEN TO THE SOUND OF MY VOICE!" He then begins to sing a raucous drinking song.

The grey-robed man shouts in frustration as he is pelted with another arrow from Niserie's bow and he darts back into the smaller tent. As Mave rushes to the larger tent, knowing her rapier isn't a proper cutting tool, she switches to her dagger and plunges it into the tent's side as she begins to cut her way in.

The dwarf is startled by the sudden appearance of the blade thrusting into the tent's canvas, but he has only a moment to register that as Wilwarin cuts him across the head lopping off his left ear, as the girl behind the elf appears confused even at the words in common and continues gibbering away in her foreign tongue dancing about trying to keep behind the elven magus. The dwarf shouts out in pain as he strikes again at the elf, only his axe hits the pole holding up the tent and lodges there. As he tries to loosen it, you hear the wood begin to crack. Blondie sees his opening just as Niserie's arrow finds his back. He issues a startled scream as he again thrusts his blade at the beleaguered elf the arrow causing him to miss his attack entirely.

Zedamande says loudly to Vari, "Draw or drop your weapon child. I will wait."

As the final man emerges from the circle of darkness, he begins to move towards the redhaired man intent on joining the attack. From somewhere behind her, Niserie hears the rustle of tree branches.

Thena

Pivots and brings Rover around for another attack against miss-plate.

Hearing the sound behind Nis feels sure an invisible Esdra must be stalking her. The elf switches to her dagger and turns, searching for any clue of her foe such as the disturbance of branches or leaves.

Torvik wishing his knightly friend was still around wishes he could run to help Vari but instead has his own situation to handle. He swings at the man with the hammer again. "Someone help Vari dammit!" he calls out.

Wilwayaisawén

Seeing the tent-pole struck, Wilwarin starts backing up, moving toward the rent canvas at the rear. She strikes again at the dwarf, but her attention is mostly on retreating, without getting hit, and escaping the tent before it collapses completely. With no more time to spend guessing at the girl's language, Wiwarin hopes she will at least stay nearby, but out of her way.

Bryne

Bryne attacks Misss Plate.

Mave

Mave is in the midst of cutting open the tent when she hears Torvik's cry for someone to help Vari. Unaware whether Wilwarin is truly in danger, and remember the shout to kill the archers, she thinks Vari might need her help more so she relents on cutting an entrance into the tent, sheathes her dagger and pulls her rapier once more. She then starts running to the position she knows Vari was in.

The smell of death lingers in the air along with the earthy smell of rain-spattered mud and the smokey scent of the cooking boar from within the circle of darkness. The clouds above continue to spit out heavy rain on both friend and foe equally as the ground becomes even muddier. Lightning strikes in the distance towards the north.

Kade strikes out again at the spiked hammer wielding man missing him by merely an inch but as the man tries to move out of reach Torvik deals him a glancing blow and it is then that the man takes several steps back and begins to chant in a foreign tongue. Ruskin darts in for a new attack at the red-haired man, but the growing mud of the battlefield causes his balance to be off. The redhaired man finds footing equally precarious and this time he misses the daring thief. The first dark-haired man swings his sword but again cuts through only falling rain.

Thena and Bryne both battle the tall Miss Plate, but she easily manages to evade both their attacks. Before finding an opening and dealing a minor blow Bryne. It is then another opponent enters the fray, the second dark haired man that redhair called Jiv who tries to draw Thena's attention but fails to deliver.

"I am no child," Vari shouts as she pulls her short sword free and slices through Zedamande's side. Zed strikes out at the same time but her quickness gets through his defenses and throw his own attack off. The elf only laughs, "A little sauce only adds to the pleasure of the battledance little one."

High in the tree, Niserie catches sight of the rain falling at an odd angle in one area of the branches, so she plunges her dagger where she thinks the hidden woman may be however she is not there. Suddenly Esdra appears, the arrows that hit her, now gone and she apparently none the worse for wear as she agilely moves in to attack, a long curved dagger in her hand. The vicious slice cuts across Niserie's belly and she nearly falls but manages to retain her grip on a tree limb with one hand and still hold her dagger in the other. Esdra looks her in the eyes and says, "You are a fool to be Aurens' pawn."

Wilwarin and the girl both run the tent's opening as the dwarf pulls his axe free and the pole holding the tent up cracks completely in two. The canvas collapses on both the dwarf and his buddy Mek, and one starts shouting at the other as they try to find a way out from under it.

Mave runs past all of this, Talon in hand, so fast she nearly slips in the mud when she reaches Vari and Zed, almost running into both of them. "Two targets are always better than one," the elf exclaims.

As Wilwarin is watching the two she fought struggle under the weight of the tent. She sees the grey-robed man emerge again from the remaining standing tent and this time he has what appears to be a small piece of bone in one hand having replaced it with his staff, which he apparently left in the tent. He begins to speak in a tongue Wilwarin doesn't understand. The girl who was behind her also sees this and screeches in an agitated voice before taking off running in the direction of Thena and Bryne.

Bracing herself, Nis lets go of the branch and falla away. Twisting like a cat she does her best to roll upon landing to soften the fall.

Once at the bottom she will try to move as far away as possible to the southwest (if up is north on the map) and heal herself with a cure light wounds.

Torvik keeps fighting the man with the hammer, trying to hurry the fight so that perhaps he will be able to help the others soon.

Exasperated at the arrogant elf, Mave goes on the offensive and promptly misses....

Wilwarin is relieved when the girl runs, freed of the responsibility. Taking her alarm at the spell-caster’s summoning as an indictor of the current primary threat, she throws the knife she picked up in the tent at the grey-robed man, hoping to distract him, and runs to engage him.

The seemingly aptly named Miss Plate, is harangued by both Thena and Bryne, neither of whom have been able to inflict more than a glancing blow on the woman. Both attack and miss due to her deft footwork even in the sloshing mud. She whirls her axe about attempt to hit Bryne but the wily ranger is too quick and she slices through only the falling rain, screaming with frustration. As Jiv moves in to, trying to hit Bryne but his sword merely brushes the edge of her cloak barely missing.

Torvik moves forward not allowing the man with the spiked hammer to leave the fray, striking with Durvan's sword he cuts into the man's side and the spell he was trying to cast is lost on his lips. He again tries to retreat from the rampaging dwarf trying to begin his chant anew.

The dark-haired man tries to hit the dwarf as he moves past him but the mud they fight his balance is unsteady and he slips and falls into the mud his short sword flying from his grip several feet away. His redheaded companion continues fighting Ruskin but is unable to hit the wily thief.

Kade sees his opening and ignores the fallen opponent turning his attention to the redhaired man. At nearly the same instance both Kade and Ruskin skewer the redhaired man from either side and with a groan of pain the man falls headfirst into the mud.

Wilwarin tosses her knife at the grey-robed man and it misses and sticks in the tent canvas behind him. The man face splits into a twisted grin as he turns from her and points at the running girl. He speaks words she doesn't understand and a glowing arrow flies from the bone in his hand and hits the girl in mid-run. She screams out in pain but continues to run until she reaches Niserie who is in the midst of healing herself. The girl, whom Niserie has never seen before today, blinks and says, "Niserie...." her voice trailing off in some foreign tongue the witch doesn't comprehend.

Zedamande dances between his two opponents and then strikes suddenly at Mave hitting the swashbuckler deep in the thigh, as he exclaims, "The Viper has bitten." Both Mave and Vari are unable to hit the elf as he wildly dances about.

Esdra climbs down the tree and begins to run in Niserie and the girl's direction.
