Ilhalevar follows Malak as far as the four-way intersection just south of the second falls. Then she will argue to go west from there, instead of south.

"Our Druid knows what lies in the rat room south of there, but we never ventured into the small tunnel to the west. I say we check there, first, then we can go south here (at the four-way)."

Malak feels a tug on this clothing after he initially attempts to go south at the four-way intersection. He turns to see Ilhalevar, the mysterious wood elf, arguing that the group should continue west, not south.

"Well, if you feel that strongly about it." he says, as he corrects his course of action. "But, stay behind me." he instructs. "No telling what dangers I'll have to protect you from down that way."

"I agree," Zafalia offers as she nods her head in the affirmative. Holding her torch high, she proceeds after them, curious of whether the giant rats she encountered and spoke with earlier at the fish musher will have heeded her words and told their kin not attack them! :)

Day 1 – 2:40 p

I'm guessing Al'Zur stays, frustratingly, with he group. But we can always retcon that if need be. Ah the joys of PbP!

Okay, after some confusion and discussion, which makes the ranger a bit nervous that company might come, the party decides to head back down Fish Musher Way and check out the unexplored room that they passed before.

The way is uneventful, and as before the lovely smell of old mushed fish, as well as the sounds of the fish musher greet you as you get closer.

But stopping to get a closer look, the two thieves and the druid can relate back to the rest what they see. The room seems to have vine-y, ropy pillars of fungus growing from ceiling to floor throughout the cavern. They are thick ranging from one to four feet in diameter. There's enough room to comfortably move between them single file and be combat ready. Of course these pillars make the room quite difficult to get a good view of.

I have that the ranger and druidess have a torch, and that Wulfgard's lamp still burns from the back. :) .

"Fascinating." Malak utters in awe. He turns to Zafalia and asks: “Whatcha think?”

Before Zafalia even has a chance to respond, however, Malak is overcome with curiosity and enters the room to try and get a closer look at one of the stalks.

"Unnatural but incredible," Zafalia responds as she stares in curious wonder at the fungus pillars. She holds her torch high to try and get a better look, hoping to determine if it looks similar in nature to the fungus ladder they encountered earlier.

When Malak enters the room, the little halfling's danger meter pegs out and she goes into auto-concern/scowl mode. She'll look to see if there's any kind of mold on the floor of the cavern.

Al'Zur also is cautions. He surveys the scene be fore asking. "Put the torch near the vines before we go in too far. Let's see what happens."

Day 1 – 2:45 p

.

Malak speaks and enters.

As he enters the ranger puts a torch to the nearest pillar of viney fungus, and nothing seems to happen, except maybe a normal burn mark and smell of mushrooms cooking. The pillar doesn't seem to feel any pain, or move in any aggressive manner.

Malak moves in among the pillars.

PM sent.

Malak turns and quietly speaks to the torch-bearing ranger behind him, "Hey, a bit of light over here," he says. "There's something big moving around back there. I want to check it out, but can't see it in this blasted darkness." He begins to quickly rummage through his backpack. "Ah ha," he says, producing his own torch from his backpack and drawing it to the rangers already burning flame to light it.

The fact that his newly lit torch is burning like a beacon doesn't seem to connect with Malak. He turns back and begins to plunge deeper into the room, towards the movement he detected, attempting to move silently, using the pillars of fungus to conceal his exact whereabouts.

"I'll be back..." are the last words you here Malak speak before he disappears into the room.

Ilhalevar shakes her head slowly from side to side as she begins to attune herself to possible danger and grips her staff with both hands in a ready position.

Fool, Malak, the Ranger fumes. If this time he returns as a flying monkey I say we accept it! In his frustration, he will check for sign.
