Here is an example of what I thinking. I am open to suggestions to improve it of course.

Arngeir Orlygsson: Uni Pen (0), Phy Pen (?), Move ?, Inj (none), FP 0, BL 0, PP 80, Spc:
Algrim Tirion: Uni Pen (0), Phy Pen (3/-15), Move 10, Inj (none), FP 0, BL 0, PP 80, Spc:

I just noticed Arngeir's weapons and armor are not done on his combat sheet so I will get that done so we can get his Penalties and Move in.

Here is Arngeir's sheet updated for weapons and armor.
Arngeir_Orlygsson_3c.pdf
(557.37 KiB) Downloaded 24 times

Arngeir Orlygsson: Inj (none), FP 0, BL 0, PP 80, Uni Pen (0), Phy Pen (4/-20), Move 6, Spc:
Algrim Tirion: Inj (none), FP 0, BL 0, PP 80, Uni Pen (0), Phy Pen (3/-15), Move 10, Spc:

I think if you look over these 2 characters you see how HM sort of works out. Arngeir has Invocations, Psionics, and some useful skills as well as being a fair warrior. Algrim has some useful skills and is a much better and more versatile warrior but lacks the Invocations and Psionics.

A new thread up. As characters finish up I will work them in quickly. This will fall under character generation and an intro to how the rules work in play as well as a test of how I will handle everything.

A simple journey

I assume you 2 are moving up to the caravan then?

I wil just assume so and we can retro any actions you wanted before that.

Hey Rex, do you mind quickly running through the meaning if your shorthand characters status. I can sort of guess what some of them are.

Of course.

Arngeir Orlygsson: Inj (none), FP 0, BL 0, PP 80, Uni Pen (0), Phy Pen (4/-20), Move 6, Spc: Carrying backpack
Algrim Tirion: Inj (none), FP 0, BL 0, PP 17, Uni Pen (0), Phy Pen (3/-15), Move 10, Spc: Carrying backpack
Idril Nagfly: Inj (none), FP 0, BL 0, PP 75, Uni Pen (0), Phy Pen (2/-10), Move 7, Spc: Backpack on ground next to her

Inj = Injuries, hopefully this is never a long list but can be. I will get a post up on injuries soon under the rules topic. The number designation x5 is a penalty included in your Universal Penalty.

FL = Fatigue Levels, these are gained through strenuous activity, casting spells, using psionic talents, as the results of certain effects on you (the psionic talent of Mental Bolt inflicts FL's on a target for example). FLx5 is included in your Universal Penalty. I was using FP, which is incorrect and will switch to FL moving forward.

BL = Blood Loss, if you suffer a Grievous injury it becomes a bleeder until you somehow stop the bleeding. Each minute you add 1 BL for a G4 injury or each round for a G5 injury. If BL exceeds your Endurance you die from blood loss. Like FL BL is counted in your Universal Penalty as BLx5.

PP = Piety Points, covered here Piety Points note that you do not need to be a Cleric to use Piety.

Uni Pen = Universal Penalty, Injury Levels + Bloodloss + Fatigue Levels, will be written as (3/-15), the first number is applied to non-physical Attribute checks (Intelligence to remember something for example), the second to non-physical Skill checks (Magic, Psionics, Invocations, Knowledge Skills...)

Phy Pen = Physical Penalty, Universal Penalty + Encumbrance, will be written as (3/-15), the first number is applied to your Move and physical Attribute checks (Dexterity for a Fumble check to hold onto your weapon), the second to Physical and Combat Skill checks (jumping over a stream, climing a wall, stabbing a Gargun...)

Move = Move, is your Move - Physical Penalty, covered here Move

Spc = Special, general notes and Invocation, Psionic, and Spell effects.

The injury post is up.
Hopefully it doesn't scare anyone off. It is best learned in use.

Rex, the wounds sound serious, so I'm considering invoking Prayer to Elkyri (Enwyf). Is there any issue doing this to help a non-Ivinian?

No issue at all and it’s a great idea as your psi healing ML isn’t very high.

Pulpatoon, i am not at home at the moment so can’t check your invocations but off the top of my head I don’t think so. I will check before I head into work for the evening.

Also, anyone can use piety points to increase the chance of success for any roll, up to +20, but you need to keep your piety points equal to or higher than your ritual ML or you can’t cast invocations.

Rex, I don;t quite understand.

Arngeir has a ritual ML of 70 and 80 PP , that means he can only spend 9 PP and the better ritual score he has the less PP he can use. I must have misunderstood this.

Nope you have it. You need to have at least a 70 piety points to cast invocations and be in Divine Grace. Religion 4 explains how to gain more, I will post it in tables later. The theory is that your Diety expects more from the very knowledgeable of his faith and secrets then the common individual who just knows the very basics. For the clerics I would hold on to your Piety and work on building it for emergency use only. You can also use it to call on your Diety directly using Divine Intervention but that is very risky and costly.

Ilvir doesn't have any healing Invocations unfortunately.

But you do have Feat of Albarra which is a very powerful Invocation and would help here. You can use it to increase any physical attribute. So casting it on the patients Str and/or Sta (it would take 2 castings to do both) would increase their Condition Skill, which then increases their Endurance as that is based on their Condition Skill. Since Endurance is what is used to determine his chance of healing when Arngeir uses his Psi Healing on him it would increase his chance. Since Feat of Albarra is so powerful (CS doubles the attribute and MS increases it by 50%, even MS is a huge gain) it would make a difference for that roll. He will need to make at least 2 rolls and more likely more as it is a bad infection and needs to get to H6 to heal, but every little bit helps.

By the way I just realized I haven't explained SI or in your Ritual Skill case RSI. SI is the first digit of a Skills ML, So a Ritual of 60 to 69 has a RSI of 6 and a Ritual of 70-79 has a RSI of 7. Once ML gets to 100+ you take the first 2 digits so ML of 107 would be SI of 10. I mention it as Si is used to determine casting time for your Invocations. So casting time of Feat of Albarra would be 15-6 =9 seconds, 1 combat round.

I just re-read Psi Healing and Ildris shouldn't cast Feat of Albarra at this point. If he was healing on his own it would be a good option but wont help Psi Healing. Sorry about that.

I just wanted to check in with everybody in Idril. I know I'm playing her as a real sour pickle, and I think I've rp'd with everyone here enough that you know that this isn't me being a jerk under a thin veneer of "it's what my character would do." My hope is that she'll be a fun kind of prickly. But if I don't pull that off, and she's detracting from anyone's enjoyment, please let me know, and I'll back her off.
