Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
well and honestly if you put the attached images in a "image dump" area like other DM/GM's on here do Starbeard and Grognardsw you can use the fimg brackets in the game posts you can size the images as you wish. I personally don't do this often but a lot of the images i use are url based anyway other than my mapping.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
I always envisioned a future where message boards like these would go with real quality of life, dynamically generated things like adding images and video scaling them and stuff. Instead we got social media....

Social media.... yeah i know the feeling there. I wish that would just go the way of the dinosaur.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
I finally got the chance to watch the 2016 Ghostbusters. Waaaay lame. If this had been the first Ghostbusters movie ever released, it would have vanished without a ripple.

Agreed. I *wanted* to like it. I gave it a real chance, and it just fell flat.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
The most annoying thing imho is the direction, or lack thereof. Kristen Wigg was on my dream list for a Ghostbusters team just, not like that. I know people like to hate on Melissa McCarthy but I like her most of the time, but this was a total miss use of her skills too. Really every scene felt like Paul Feige didn't really know how to direct a movie like this (which he did outright state in the Sony email debacle) so he hoped just rolling more film would give them something to piece together, and it feels like that. I mean the dialog cuts jump back and forth like a Marvel 3rd act set piece fight scene and it just doesn't work for jokes like that. But then the internet did what it does and all of a sudden it was just beyond messed up.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
Eh I guess I am just one of the very few that actually liked the movie. Definitely not ranked in the top of the list for me of Ghostbuster's movies it would reside at the bottom there. But out of all movies I have seen it is not the worst movie I have ever seen.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
I haven't seen it and probably will never bother. I try and limit my screen time to stuff I am pretty confident I will like.
Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
The worst part- IMHO- was that they seemed to want to both create a unique re-boot _AND_ refer to the original.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
Yes I did get that bit Bob. It from time to time was a bit eh how can i put it... distracting....hmmm no, well obvious for sure, but not always done correctly as well. Sure they had 3 of the original cast, though one was probably not easily spotted. "Uncle Bill" Ernie Hudson, and Dan Aykroyd as a cabbie, "Martin Heiss" Bill Murray. Bill was the one with the most screen time. But anyway them not being the original characters but the movie wanting to refer to the original movies from time to time is a bit of a let down IMO.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
I didn't get the outright hate, it was a bummer that it wasn't better but its not like the worst movie ever. I just wish we could have gotten a torch passing new generation if it has to continue, or just leave it as is. Honestly the IDW is my absolute favorite cannon, and i saw rumors it might be ending

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
I agree, I was not on the hate bandwagon, just disappointed about what "could have been" and a lot of that was based on some of the things talked about for the movie when it was announced before Fuege (However you spell it) took over and the aforementioned things happened. Went you have a skeleton of a script and it is all make it up as you go, there is no story there. I think they were just trying to sell tickets based on the name of the franchise alone and the gimmick of gender-swapping the cast. I still think the gimmick could have worked and been fun, but actors need direction and directors need written direction. It was a shame to see what happened. But now for better or worse I am looking forward to this new Ghostbusters 3 where I think we are going to finally get the sequel we were waiting on. I am still trying to keep my expectations low, but I am looking forward to taking my boys to see it all the same.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
If Ghostbusters 3 is close to as good as the trailer it should be a good movie.
Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
Agreed! I'm looking forward to it. Since Finn Wolfhard is in it, I keep thinking of the rest of the Stranger Things gang being there, too.. LOL

That would actually be fun. That could be cameos done right.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
I'm a dope because I like Paul Rudd and he is in GB3. But yes I am very much looking forward to the movie for other reason as well.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
Yeah, Ernie talked about seeing it, it gives me hope. But nothings gonna hit that high of being 4 years old eating captain crunch watching RGB or burning thru another VHS of the movies on a Saturday.
