Fast Eddie immediately informs everyone that he is an entrepreneurial “mover and shaker” in the investment world and is here looking for business opportunities on Inchin. He mentions that he’s in finance and winks at Jess. If he’s still conscious afterwards he then looks about for Prerna but it seems, much to his chagrin, she’s talking to the Professor. He winces and massages his sore hand in recollection of her crushing handshake but undeterred, reinforces his already overpowering cologne - just in case.
However, his roving eye nearly pops from its socket as it beholds a distant view of Polly. He opines to the company at large “Phwoar – look at the state of that!” and, quite beside himself, nudges nearby folk in enthusiastic appreciation.
Frank
Franks eye's flick straight to Eddie. He seems to be considering something for a second before saying...
"I would be careful of Ms Maguire. She's part of an Aslan contingent and they are very protective of their employees, particularly when it comes to...honour. The Aslan with her, that's her assistant and bodyguard, you don't want to do or say anything that would upset them, an insulted Aslan is very bad news"

Jess laughs off Fast Eddies clumsy pass as "banter".
When his attention turns to Poly she steps in close and tells him, adding to Frank's warning: I don't start gettin' paid to keep ya safe 'til Inchin, so this's some free advice mate. Even if we were on the clock, doubt we could save ya in time, if the Cat's decided yer out of line. And if I decide yer out of line, I'll let 'er play with ya a bit 'fore I try, get me?"
Jess scans the room before commenting to Frank: Come to think of it, lot of dangerous women here. Sort of people we protect civvies from, usual, eh Sir?

Frank nods
"Very true, Sargent Major, I think in the current company the saying 'the female of the species is more deadly than the male' is very apt indeed". he gives Eddie a long look.

Prerna flashes a predator's smile that would do an Aslan proud.
"Athlete, hm? I can dead lift seventy-five kilos, and bench press fifty. After that, I can run five clicks in full combat gear in fifteen minutes, and I'm the smallest woman here." She tilts her head a bit.
"You'd have to do better than that to impress us with your athleticism."

The Imperial Delegation
Captain Smith Imperial Marines
Ensign Jodi Mallory Imperial Navy
The team are moved on by Penfold once more to meet the Imperial delegation. It seems Jakob has gone on ahead but looks to have suffered the almost inevitable fate of a “folorn hope”. He stands, seemingly stalled in mid delivery of his practiced patter, staring at the naval Ensign accompanying a man the team knows all too well.
Captain Douglas C. Smith turns his attention to the team “Ah, the hired help!” He bridles as he instinctively scans the “weight” of decorations worn by the team. He actually does a “dictionary definition” double take on seeing Skip’s SEH. Smith’s own chest appears somewhat “light”. He has no decorations for valour or combat ribbons but somehow seems to have been awarded medals for “many other things”. He has the “Lanth Raid” clasp on his “Frontier Service Medal”. Skip and Jakob recognise the clasp as they both have the award but neither can recall him being there.
Smith continues his tirade “Let me be clear. There is no room in this Imperially backed and sponsored operation for a collection of opportunist soldiers for hire. I shall speak to the Deputy Minister and I’m sure he will agree someone with the proper military background and who currently holds an Imperial commission should direct the operations of your unit”.
"I also advise the Deputy Minister on the level of current threat to the mission and the need for your continued deployment. Therefore you need to impress me". He enjoys a moment of self satisfaction before adding "Good luck with that!"
Ensign Mallory greets the team. She bears a startling resemblance to Agent Liv Ellis (last seen in the shot up bar atop the Bartizan). She’s currently wearing Navy blues (officers’ “walking out” shore rig) side cap with a close fitting tunic and skirt (non regulation tailoring) and black patent heels. She says “Ensign Jodi Mallory, pleased to meet you all. I’m observing and assisting Captain Smith on this diplomatic mission".

Jess breaks into a predatory smile and greets the familiar face with a slow, appreciative tone and a Trokh epithet: Cap-tain Foolish Prey-Animal! Perfect. Been usin' you as an example in trainin', be a real treat for the lads to see I ain't been exaggeratin'.
A thought strikes her, and she asks, with hope: I don't suppose you could find time to lecture the troops? It'd be really useful for them to hear a serving Imperial Marine Officer sharing his thoughts and experience.

"Agent, I mean, Ensign Mallory," Prerna says with a smile, ignoring Captain Blowhard entirely.

Prerna grins at that, and looks at Mallory.
"Good luck with that, Ensign. Just remember, stupidity is frequently fatal to those around the carrier, too."

Jakob is perfectly neutral and controlled when speaking to Captain Smith, and Ensign Mallory.
At least he thinks he is. The reality is that his response to Smith doesn't even carry the required disdain, and his tone with Mallory is warm and intimate.
"So good to meet you," Jakob said. Smith was saying something. Mallory was trying to look observational and assistive, but seemed well aware of Jakob's attention.
"Sir," Jakob said as he turned to Frank and the others."Ensign Mallory of the Imperial Navy and Captain, um..." he looked back at Smith's nameplate. "Smith."

Frank
Frank smiles at Liv "Ensign Mallory, it's a pleasure to meet you" he then turns his attention to Smith, pointedly looking at his decorations for a few seconds with a slightly quizzical look on his face before he looks man directly in the eye with a cool look "Captain, you must do as you feel is necessary. However, if you do decide to interfere with our mission, then I will do as I feel I must for the safety of the members of this delegation. Namely, I will explain to the Deputy Minister, in detail, how the least of my officers here has more actual Imperial military combat experience than you have, and I will also explain what happened when we last met, how you almost got your team slaughtered due to your stubbornness and then managed to rescue the wrong person."

Skip avoids joining the Slightly Honourable dogpile of Captain Smith, shaking his hand and introducing himself with the respect befitting a fellow marine, "Skip Dallas, Lanth." With all the stories he's heard about the man, Skip recognizes a punishment duty when he sees one, and liaising to backwater starport construction more than fit the bill. And while Jakob seemed familiar upon seeing his face the first time, he can't immediately place the Captain at Lanth. No matter, the service was full of bullsh*tters and Skip was happy to play "good cop" while the others did their victory lap.
Skip is struck with a slight look of confusion as Prerna greets the Ensign as "Agent," but has his attention grabbed by Frank's mostly tactful dressing down off the Captain's pomposity. He wasn't sure he could do the same in his position.

"Fast" Eddie gives Prerna a look consumed by conflicting emotions and takes a leap into an arena of which she is now entirely sure he is in complete ignorance.
"Ah ... that's very impressive. Don't suppose I could buy you a drink then?"

Captain Smith becomes very defensive and seems just about to "spit some feathers" when Penfold swoops in to direct you to your “face time” with the Deputy Minister.
The Senior Diplomat immediately apologies that he’s "running late" which you already understand is diplomat for “you are currently less important”. Nevertheless, he seems entirely pleased with events and reassured by your presence. He helpfully announces that
“You’re all doing very well” as he takes his leave.
At this the “grown ups” (principal team members) generally retire, the on board disco is fired up and the free drink is taken away. The bar opens and the party goes on. The twins take to the floor and dance with each other and anyone else who wishes to. Duran passes the word that he has a supply of good whiskey and cigars. Fast Eddie hurls his jacket aside and plunges onto the dance floor with wild abandon to almost immediately retire due to lack of stamina.
It appears that the Imperial Navy, in the form of Ensign Mallory, also dances rather well.

Prerna draws in her claws, and smiles more naturally.
"No thank you, my girlfriend wouldn't appreciate that. However, perhaps we can discuss more about your group's plans at Inchin on this trip. We are this delegation's security element, so the more information we have, the better, especially when it concerns your safety."

Subtle Plan: Jakob will politely dance with Ensign Mallory at least once.
Reality: Jakob spends every moment possible with Ensign Mallory. Captain Smith tries to horn in, realizes he's about to posthumusly get a medal for stupidity, and moves along. Jakob and Jodi dance some more.

Jess'll take the compliment, but... I think she's actually older than Frank. ( 4 terms vs 3 ?)
And still feeling the effects of that leg wound a little, so she soon abandons dancing to the truly young and fit and opts to take up the offer of good whiskey and conversation instead.
